The (Seat) Cupra Ateca impressed me with its overall nice package. 300 sporty horsepower, DSG, AWD and good DNA. It will never be a hot hatch (for that you have an actual Cupra), but for a big sized SUV it delivers great performance!

A nearly all out 'ring lap is quite a task for a street oriented car with a turbo.

@@nielsdebakker3283 Yeah if possible but I'm down for watching the normal VZ too. But for sure VZ5 would be more interesting especially if we could also see RSQ3 in the future.
@@PMannn The VZ5 has also always the Akebono Big Brake Kit and Torque Vectoring from the RS3 which the "normal" VZ doesn't have.
@@t3chn0m0 I know that the VZ5 is better although you can get brembos and DCC as an option (in my country they're standart but maybe it is optional for others) on VZ but if we were to see VZ, we could compare how Golf R would fit in an SUV don't we? :D Besides, when I said I wanna see formentor, I meant the VZ5.
I totally want Misha to drive me in my Z.....and I totally don't want Misha to take any curbs in it because I'd cry 😂😂😂

I guess if really wanna push this car, then you’d upgrade the cooling. But for a “family” suv with 2.0 300 hp I think that’s a good result.

135C is pretty nice for a stock car. Reduced drain interval for sure but still acceptable. (let’s hope the oil has decent HTHS)
@@ridingtherr0502 Probably the stock 5W30. I would definitely get an oil change on it..
They do run hot yes. Blame emissions for that too - a decent mapper will correct that ever so beneficial@@AI-Records24

It wasn't a Panamera, it was an electric NIO ET5 Touring (very nice), I hope one day you can try it for the opinion. It's a shame that gasoline is so expensive and those cars consume a lot, now they have hybrid versions or electric CUPRA Born.

My daily driver I can't get here in the US, meanwhile I'm stuck with the 1.5t in my Taos aka Ateca. I can only imagine the blast this little suv is for a daily commuter, mines pretty zippy for the 158hp especially around town no problem lighting the tires up. I could get the Golf R, but lose the cargo space this has I'd have to go to an Audi SQ5 for the same equivalence essentially which is more maintenance and higher running cost I don't want.
No golf r estate? Or Skoda superb 280?
They have the space but not the height
@@TheYBGOON No estates we lost it in 2019 with a 1.4t only, and Skoda isn't available here. Basically gotta go to Audi if you want something more interesting beyond a Golf R, or some other sports car.

Holy moly these oil temperatures... Never had that on my Seat Leon Cupra ST 4drive from 2020 with OPF and my Curpa Ateca from 2021 after 2 laps.... Always around 115 -120°. Laps were done in July and August 2023 with around 23°
I also drove the car for 2 laps on the ring and it never reached those temps. I guess it is also about the way it is driven as I was not able to push the car as hard as Misha did.
@@AI-Records24 Yes, I have no complains about the car. I actually did a stage 1 tune which made it a bit more fun. It is a great daily car which can be fun if you step on it. One of the reason why I went with a SUV (instead of the Leon) is that the roads in Romania are also broken 🤣 and I can say that I don't regret the decision. Might have been a bit more fun around twisty roads but you need to compromise sometimes.
@@AI-Records24 For sure 300Hp is more than enough but I wanted to unlock the full potential of the engine and also make the gear changes snappier 😀 also another big plus is the AWD system for snowy conditions (really hard to lose traction). Cheers and enjoy your car!
@@AI-Records24 I want to improve the cooling as well before taking it to the ring again haha. I don’t have plans for going to the ring this year as it is a long journey from Romania (1600 km) but next year I will probably go again 🎉

VW dsg always upshift in manual mode AND kickdown😂😂
The kickdown in M-mode is the first thing you de-program, and the auto-upshift ONLY if track the car so it bounce on the rev limiter.
If you, like me, are a autobahn racer you leave the auto-upshift 😂😂

@@dan.chiorean correct my friend, but it’s a fast and reliable box I would say. The clutch can take a lot of launches and 600Nm in 1st and 2nd gear, and you can fine tune it to 60ms, I’d prefer it before the ZF 8 speed in my M140i, where I had to reduce 1st to 500Nm and 2nd to 550Nm and it’s doesn’t like several launches in a short period of time.
If my Octavia RS 500 HP+ ist ready this year, may Misha want to drive it?
He probarly will, but heard he's now implementing overheating penalities....

How come you drove it in standard mode instead of cupra mode? Your gears say M instead of S. Cupra mode is definitely more responsive and you get free popcorn!
M is manual mode (gear lever to the right). Doesn't matter if you are in Normal, sport, or Cupra mode.
The car was in Cupra mode and the gearbox was in manual mode 😀

As far as I understand - quite the contrary - Misha basically pays for the track entry for your car because he buys the track pass card for the whole year - so you just give him a nice car to test and create the content and you just get laps for free plus his driving
No, as coolguy already mentioned, Misha uses his season card to get on the ring and the content he gets from it will pay that off. Although in his last video on his second channel he mentioned that the rules for 2024 will change, meaning his passengers would have to pay the lap ticket (which is 30-35 euro depending on whether it's a weekday or friday/weekend)

@@Draquenfull yo cambié del león st al CUPRA Ateca, y te aseguro que es más versátil, más ancho, más cómodo y mejor equipado, y la diferencia dinámica es mínima, también el león era delantera y éste 4drive, y lleva el motor gen4 del Golf R mk8 que tiene mejores prestaciones que el anterior motor gen3, luego gustos colores, pero se critica mucho el suv y casi todos son una porquería, pero los hay muy interesantes y te ofrecen más versatilidad que un compacto deportivo sin renunciar a prestaciones y dinámica, un saludo
@@ChrisR90 cuando dices versatilidad no sé muy bien a qué te refieres. Meterte por caminos a diario? No entiendo. El león también lo tienes en tracción total y comparte la motorización 2.0tsi con el formentor. El formentor es 4cm más ancho, lo cual veo es una desventaja para aparcar. Y en cuanto a dinamismo sí que sacrificas bastante. Darle un centro de gravedad más elevado a un coche nunca es positivo en cuanto a dinamismo. Por ponerte un ejemplo, el formentor vz5 es más lento en nurburgring que el leon teniendo este último 80cv menos (hablo de la versión vz5 de 390). Creo que tener 80cv más y ser más lento dice bastante del dinamismo que sacrifica. Pero ya no solo eso, mi comentario inicial iba referido a que esto antes te lo vendía seat. Ahora te vende lo mismo una marca nueva y todo el mundo pagando miles de euros más por lo mismo.
@@Draquenfull te vuelvo a decir lo mismo, prueba uno y verás porque la gente lo compra, mezclas cosas, en Nurburgring siempre irá mejor un delantera con semislick, en otros circuitos como hockeheim GP, INTA etc el Vz5 es mucho más rápido y sólo 2 décimas de segundo más lento que el nuevo RS3 sedan 400cv, dices que 4cm de anchura te limita aparcar? Pero la longitud de más que tienen los familiares largos no te limita? Es mucho más versátil el suv para uso diario, no rascas los bajos, es más fácil de aparcar por su longitud, es más cómodo de posición, es más cómodo para meter niños atrás, hablas de tiempos en circuitos que a lo mejor ni has estado, e corrido en Nurburgring y a nivel usuario es despreciable la diferencia de tiempo si tienes el coche de dayli..cómo te digo, hablas generalizando, y no has probado uno ni sabes nada de su puesta a punto, en Imola el CUPRA Ateca es 3 centésimas de segundo más lento que un Golf R mk7, siendo un SUV...la puesta a punto del Ateca es tremenda, busca información, mira la entrevista de Jordi Gené, piloto que lo puso a punto, te vas a sorprender...no te gustan los SUV y lo entiendo, pero generalizas pensando que todos los suv van como un qasqhai... Poco más que añadir, te lo dice uno que antes tuvo un león st, que ahora tiene en casa un CUPRA Ateca 300 Gen4 y un Formentor VZ 310, y que ha probado junto a Jordi Gené el Vz5 en circuito... prueba y luego seguimos la conversación...para dayli un suv de éstos te ofrece más que un compacto deportivo, y la diferencia dinámica es despreciable.. todo depende de tus necesidades

Is that a gas pedal press indicator ? Kinda useless for such thing to be in a car i think.
It's a power indicator, it tells you when the car is developing full power/torque in the rpm range
This is no stand alone cupra.
It's just a seat ateca rebranded.
But it is sold under Cupra name not Seat. It is indeed still a Seat

Sport seats were optional in this model, standard on the facelift model. Copper wheels are an option.
