It's the same speed as a stock Mustang GT PP1 that he drove in another video. So Spending 20k in suspension gained him the same laptime as +200HP in a mustang. Crazy impressive the Mustang could hold corners only like 5 km/h less than this car considering the weight difference and fancy suspension.
A lot of folks seem to forget that a car can have a great chassis but be underpowered. A car can have an awful chassis and be overpowered. It’s about having a vehicle with an equally performing chassis and engine so that it works together in harmony. A great example is a Mazda Miata with a 5.0 Mustang engine. Tremendous horsepower but upsets the balance and neutrality of the vehicle. It’s plain to see this vehicle with its HP is fantastically matched with the chassis and vice versa.
I have watched plenty of your videos and I have to say this is one of the best. It goes to show that power is the last thing you should be chasing with a track car.
I have the BRZ twin and just got new track pads , camber bolt, springs & more aggressive alignment. With those improvements I was able to stay in front of C7 Corvette on a mountain twisty road. Sure he caught up at end of the straights but I’d gap him in braking zone & corners. If you are thinking about getting a sports car this is amazing bang for the $
I love the whole idea, except the motor. Has it been good for you. I had 2 subarus and the weren't exactly bulletproof. I have a honda now and just adore their drivetrains. Anyway, best of luck and enjoy safely.

Stock they are amazing just have to do regular maintenance and let the engine warm up before you decide to beat on it. If you modify it (air intake/catback exhaust/ headers) make sure you get a tune for it from a reputable tuner.
@v8_sami oh mee too. First Forester an easy 240k and still going. 2004 model. 2013 Outback was a piece of garbage. No modifications obviously. What would be the point. Burned more oil than gas.
i drove this car once around the track and it is really a joy to drive. specially to someone who is not racing driver it gives so much confidence, it has really nice balance, awesome mechanical grip (without racing tires), etc. Toyota and Subaru really did an awesome job with it. after 3-4 laps I already wanted to have another 100hp in it :P
Mish some of us 80's drivers where using gas, break, and clutch just like you do for racing on back roads or doing burn outs l would also shift gears while pushing in the clutch and keeping my foot on the gas in higher gears to keep the rpms up in high revs when racing back in my day
my life target is get nice M car and take it to ring and hire nicha for couple of laps to learn how to lap in the ring this is one of my target the enjoy weekend with this guy :)
What do you mean too old Misha, 73 yoa here and a retired cop and law enforcement pursuit driving instructor and I know I can still out drive most cops on the track and ( probably) road-and likely most people on the road as well. The heal and toe technique is well know among standard transmission drivers, but your left foot braking is quite rare; however it’s application is a partial “trail braking” technique taking advantage of the weight transfer to the front tire on the outside of the curve improving the turning traction momentary in effect helping the car to slightly oversteer into the curve. Vehicle dynamics is a difficult thing to teach unless you have a very good “ seat of the pants” driving style. I like your foot work on all three petals; so what do those old guys and young wipper snappers know, right! Be safe, keep the rubber side down, God’s Speed👍🏼
its all that bilstein dialed in with the track tyres and brakes. it is everything. seen 300hp cars absolutely smoke 700hp ones around a track simply on this principle. set up.
Yayy love toyotas,My dad was a racing driver when he was alive,he drove the Toyota corolla twin cam,and the gti-16 corolla. And My favorit was the ae86 cos i was rear weel drive. Would be the luckiest guy in the world to win this one.. look really Nice and its a Toyota yayy..

Not surprised - I’ve seen what they can do. Both gens of Toyobaru can be very fast with good tires, in the hands of a good driver, with enough curves in the road…
