You captured some great footage underwater, Thank You we will visit soon!
Bring a noodle! They are a must for springs because they can be kind of deep. We just love hanging out underwater. Definitely need a snorkel when you go too. Be careful on weekends especially now that it is summer because they will turn you away if they are full. We went in November so not too many people. The springs in that area worth checking out are Juniper Springs, Salt Springs, Silver Glen Springs, and Alexander Springs. We have done two of them so far. Our Silver Glen video will be coming out in the next few weeks. Thank you for watching and enjoying your trip!
Just came over from your silver glen video. This is another place I'll be visiting soon! So many crabs lol! Great videos!
This place had so many crab and fish. We love the Ocala National Forest! So beautiful! Thanks for watching!
Lol Well first of all my family and I are going to rent a spot in Salt Springs resort. Thank God they have a beach and a fishing pier that I can just take my kayak or rubber raft were trolling motor right off of for free! So thank you for these videos. I also watched your Glenn spring video. I noticed at the end of both swimming areas in both springs they had boats on the other side of the swimming areas. so is that like where the lakes come into both of the springs and you can have real motor boats on the other side of that rope?
Also what kind of fish were in both of those springs do y’all know?
From what I can see online they are Largemouth bass, Striped bass, and Bluegill. So the swimming area is roped off to boaters because boats are not allowed Spring pool. That area where you see boats is the boating area. You can canoe, kayak, paddle board, or use a motor boat. It is a public waterway that comes off Lake George. Salt and Silver Glenn are really awesome! Check out our Alexander Springs video which is also in the area. We love the Ocala National Forest! One recommendation is always call these places before visiting, because due to covid some things can be closed. Best to get info before making a long drive. Thank you for watching!
@@FloridaandBeyond where can i launch my kayak for free? Can i set crab traps there too ?
@MarkTwain-my3zt I am not sure of a free launch place for kayaks. Each place we have found had fees for parking or launching near salt springs and Silver Glen. There are rules about blue crabs. I do know they are protected in the park. I am not sure about on the river. Best to call the park or here is a link for Florida Fish and Wildlife. myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recreational/blue-crab/
Here is a number to ask about free launch. Hopefully, they can answer your questions and the phone number is still active. www.ocalamarion.com/directory/salt-springs-recreation-area/
Thank you very much ! You have been very helpful. Im going to 3 kings crab traps which is nearby the river. I may as well test out the traps. I think youre right about the park not allowing crab trapping but the actual river should be free game but i will call to check. Thanks again !@@FloridaandBeyond
Now it’s 12 per person
Is it still different prices on a weekday vs a weekend? We made this video in Nov 2020 so it has been a while since we visited this area.
Salt springs is not in Fort McCoy
The address is 13851 FL-19, Fort McCoy, FL 32134.
@@FloridaandBeyond mailing addresses can be very deceptive. 16 miles from one to the other.

Lol we aren't tourist, we live in the state of Florida and have been here for 40 years. 🤷♀️
