Just an FYI, the low flying jets are there because there are a bunch of low level training routes. There is a target area on the east side of lake George and not far away is the pine castle complex.

My Dad lived @ Salt Springs in the late 40's when it was wild. We vacationed there alot in the 60's & 70's. We used to catch blue crabs, catch bass, bream, mullet & feast. Those were the days.

Those rocks look like they’re actually kind of green. Is that algae in the sand looks the same color if that’s the case that water is high in nitrates. Which would be reasonable it’s right there where all the military do their stuff. It’s a bombing range up there.I’ve lived here all my life in Florida been to Alexander Springs and most of the other ones. I don’t think I’ve ever been to salt Springs. I might have to check it out. Thanks for this video.

Thank you! Yes there is some algae for sure. Nowhere near as bad as springs like Troy or Peacock tho. I definitely recommend checking out Salt. So unique! 🩵💙

My husband, five year old daughter, and I moved to Florida last year. My daughter and I love the water. We live in Tampa. I really want to visit a spring here in Florida since watching your videos. Can you recommend a spring for us to visit for our first Florida spring experience? Also when should we go?

Hi! Thanks for reaching out! There are so many great springs around the state. Between now and spring break (mid March) is my fav time because there are no crowds. But honestly since the water stays 72 degrees year round, it’s always a great time to go. Each spring is different because of the different activities. A great all-around spring is Silver Glen in the Ocala National Forest. There’s a huge swimming area. Both shallow and deep spots. Great spot to snorkel. You can also rent kayaks and there’s a great chance you will see manatees. I did a video focused on Silver Glen. Please check that video for lots of info! Have an amazing time. Feel free to reach out any time!

I went there several times and it was beautiful, but the only downfall were the boats that would park right up against the ropes of the swimming area with huge speakers, and blast very loud gangster rap with all the cuss words over the entire area, ruining an otherwise pleasant atmosphere :-(
