We are planning on taking our side by side down to Ocala National forest next weekend. On their website they say everyone has to wear a DOT approved helmet. I didn’t see anyone wearing one in your video, which I wouldn’t either. Was anyone out there enforcing this? Or was there and they really just don’t care? We have little riders as well. Any insight would be appreciated! I liked the video, was one of the better ones I’ve seen of Ocala.
Awesome video! We have two young boys also and have stayed at the KOA twice, just recently here for a week during New Years. Was there a safe place to leave the SxS when you went in to Salt Springs? We are headed back up for spring break and i'd like to make this trip to the spring. Fingers crossed they have the new trail head by then although it wasn't too big of a hassle catching a ride across the street with Dave! Thanks man and maybe see you out there sometime! -Steve
@@mike1972flYou used to be able to. There was apparently an accident a few months back and they lost the ability to allow guests to cross the paved road and onto the trail system. So what the KOA is doing is offering a trailer service that they bring you across the street on their truck and trailer and when you are done you call (Dave) and he comes and picks you up. Word is that they(federal park service)are building a new trailhead access closer to the KOA soon that will allow you to legally cross the road again and access the trails without trailering across the street. We are hoping that comes sooner than later!
it's the wild, wild west of forests, but people hiking the florida trail & other trails solo rarely have any problems. Years ago, they had a big raid, rounded a bunch of people up, which sent the signal, loud & clear - u wanna be out here fine, but dont fuck with our tourist money, which is the bread & butter of florida.
So amazing how you captured the moments, love it!
So nice to see you guys! Having some wonderful times, enjoy!
I use to live in Chippewa. This is a great reminder of my home having such a beautiful back yard
It really is a beautiful place
Wheeeew fun!!! 😊
Does kids had a blast with fun parents.
Awesome!
Great video. One of the best I’ve watched. I’m headed there this Sunday.
Thanks Tony
Fun in the Forest, Ocala style. Winter is here for Christmas. Happy Holidays.🎁🎄

We never saw any rangers during our stay. I’m sure they’re out there though.
Everyone has to wear helmet and you must ride unlicensed ATV on the designated ATV/motorcycle trail
We've been there a bunch of times but never saw the bunker, where is it?
Nice video. A little fast to see much but ok. And you do know that is a wildlife refuge, not a park.

I’m confused about the ride with Dave part? Can’t you just ride from your camp site to the park/trail entry?

You have to leave your SxS at the entrance next to the ranger station. I wasn’t to worried about anyone messing with it
What is the name of the KOA? Thank you
Hey loved the video am planning a new years trip there. I have a question what type of OHV is that. Thanks and many blessings
Its a Kawasaki mule pro fxt. We love it. It has two bench seats so we can pile in
We love our mule pro too! Y'all should join the kowasaki mule team pro fb page🙂
Can I just drive to Salt spring on my truck than ride atv trails from there with my sxs?
You cannot bring a sxs into the salt springs park as far as I know. They had us park at the gate near the ranger station
Yes...just stay on main road back to 316 and turn left. Goes to Salt Springs by vehicle
Are the rider permits per vehicle or per rider?
Just one for our side by side
Beautiful video! What camera do you use?
Thanks. Mostly go pro 8
I’ve always been afraid of that place. Lots of forest dwellers out there.
