For anyone who doesn't know. When the lightreaper is trying to dive bomb you with his dragon, a well timed parry will knock him off. ending the entire dragon phase.
@@Lo54Lo The lightreaper and judge cleric specifically feel so fluid and fun if you deflect him. Not all the bosses really work with the deflection system imo, but the ones that do feel almost like a sekiro boss. Also, if an enemy is out of posture (You'll know because the ring in the lock on circle will be empty) please kick them, It will immediately open them up for a riposte
Knowing that this was the first game of the dev team (Hexworks) and that they are already working on a sequel, I'm actually excited for it. The game is very rough on the edges, but it has the potential to be a very good souls-like. And I really hope they manage to do it with the next one.
Some devs actually responded on reddit(?) The game is done on a limited budget and little time resulting in a half baked game. My take is that i think they thought the game will not be as famous as it is rn thats why they are just improving it now.
@@Baradise12 Interesting considering there was quite a bit of marketing done for the game. I personally really liked the final boss. It was more of a climax to the story than a final boss what I think works. I also want to add that it’s only the final boss of 1 of the 3 endings. As some one who was immersed in the story I really liked this boss personally. The previous boss is supposed to be the final challenge. Btw this has been done previously in the first ever souls like Demons souls. The final boss was completely a story boss.
@@Baradise12this game feels more polished and complete than everything before bloodborn in fromsofts catalog imo. Not to say it’s as good necessarily just that the earlier fromsoft souls likes were clearly unfinished and rushed in many places with quite a large amount of jank and poor polish. Especially dark souls 1.
Some additions the devs should add for Lightreaper is that the dragon ambushes you while you are going through a bridge while it indirectly kills your enemies on the bridge, like Midir from DS3 while Lightreaper chases you down through the bridge, either giving you the chance to fight or flight.
Hardest boss in the game for me by far was the Kinrangr Guardian Folard miniboss with the Mendacious Visage, 3 dogs, and an Umbral parasite guarding them all as far away from the entryway to the boss fight as possible.
That fight was bullshit. For me, the bosses got easier as the game went on except for maybe one or two (Saint and light reaper). I wasn't even that over powered. Loved the game though
That fight only gets that bad if you suck. The visage only shows up in umbral (if you die). Also, idk about previous versions, but there's only one dog.
Honestly, without the shadow of a doubt one of the hardest soulslike out there Simply for the fact that it constantly makes you mentally struggle by giving you Dark Souls 2 PTSD in terms of varying enemy and boss quality
What you said about the developers not really having a strong grasp on how to create challenging (and rewarding in my opinion) encounters really rings true from my experience with the game. I really wanted to enjoy this game after coming from the pleasant surprise that was Lies of P, but the bosses were just far too easy and the areas in between far too tedious. Bosses in my eyes are rewards, capstones for an area. More often than not they were over in a single attempt, or just a few for some of the more difficult ones. It was really disappointing that the boss I struggled on the most was Pieta, when I was still learning the game. I'm hopeful that they can reduce the tediousness in areas, but I'm not sure how they'll be able to patch in changes that result in more rewarding and challenging encounters without creating new mobs or reworking boss movesets. Here's hoping they can take valuable learnings from this launch and release DLC with more challenging and rewarding content. Then again, this is just my experience and it's not fair to ask developers to sacrifice their vision to align with what any one player prefers.
Stuff like Magic seems extremely strong comparated to mele, and a good plethora of Bugs, at least on release, i just think these devs barely playtested the Game, ended Up releasing as a umbalanced mess and kinda of buggy mess, which is sad This game IS the perfect example of why playtesting IS soo important, and also of why enemy design/placement/variety is important and the most underrated aspect when doing a videogame
lol, I thought I was reading my own comment for a moment, I agree with every word. There is some fun to be had in this game, but you have to overlook a lot of issues to find it.
I kind of disagree there. I thought that it was a nice change of pace. The fights were relatively easy, but also felt very fair and to me they were still mostly well-designed. I thought it was kind of nice to have a Soulslike that didn't rely on weirdly delayed swings or absurdly long attack sequences that have you spam your dodge roll. Perhaps some more difficulty would have been fun, but I ultimately didn't mind to play a forgiving Soulslike game this one time.
Why do the Pinocchio fans always appear? Lies is a Bioshock/ Sekiro mash up. Easy gameplay steam punk vibe that was childish and simple. LotF may not be perfect in its delivery but the stories and the bosses were interesting. and yes I played Lies and the first boss was enough to turn me away from wasting time.
For me the hardest was the iron wayfarer, used fire against me and i always got stucked in every corner, Which is the biggest problem in this game,i get stuck in every tight spaces and the lock on system doesn't work properly
I’ve enjoyed playing LotF and feel it should receive better support. Why? So this studio can be encouraged to improve on this game and make a sequel so we can see more quality soulslikes that aren’t purely FromSoft. It’s definitely not that level of quality but the potentials there. A more dynamic variety of enemies and more focus on fewer but better quality boss fights would be a huge step up for this game, maybe a DLC could improve all that. I really dig the dual worlds idea
But they don’t understand and still haven’t learned what makes FromSoft games good. I’ve come back to this game after the recent patch but it’s still just as annoying to play as the first time. Their implementation of the FromSoft concept is designed to frustrate not challenge the player even with the changes they’ve made. It’s a shame because it has a good feel and the world looks great but it’s extremely difficult to draw any satisfaction from it because you generally feel relieved a fight is over rather than satisfied that you succeeded. The two worlds idea is a great concept but they should have focussed on making one world rich and diverse in encounters before they made two.
@@alansquaredyou just admitted to what the original post said, the potential is there...... They just need to capitalize on it..... Theyre clearly answering player feedback but it takes time..... If its that bad to you go back to elden dogshit or lies of trash
I agree that the Adyr fight was annoying, but I did like the bad guy monologue we got during it. I mostly loved the game more than you did I think, even the worse fights such as the Crow on. It was all indeed very easy, but it was kind of refreshing to have a Soulslike without delayed swings or insane attack sequences that have you spam dodge. The fights all felt really... fair and honest. I really liked that.
I loved the hollow crow, iron wayfarer, spurned progeny, harrower dervla, hushed saint, pieta, tancred, and judge cleric. The ost in this game fucking slaps and made fights like dervla and hushed saint so much better
I think you should redo this one. After the latest update the bosses got better and that quite a lot. Spurned progeny has way more attacks to make the fight feel less static and being some variety into it while the unbroken promise is pretty much a completely new fight. I haven’t finished my current playthrough yet but I think it went from mediocre to imo the best fight in the game (so far). I think they even removed an attack so that’s interesting.
I enjoyed the game for what it was. My biggest issues is at times the game felt rather uninspired with its enemies and boss battles with repeating multiple bosses into regular monsters while each zone has the same enemies with different affinities. Visually I thought the game looked great and the mechanic of hopping between worlds was fun. The game was also far easier after obtaining Pietas sword and going full radiance. The insane damage plus extremely forgiving s I 1 shotted 95% of all bosses (I’m not good, cleric beast whooped my ass for hours) Decent base and a sequel has potential. I’m off to play lies of p now.
I really liked the spurned progeny. Granted it was pretty easy, and thats coming from somebody who usually sucks at giant fights, but I thought the concept and design was awesome.
I hated fighting the congregator of flesh. the hitboxes and sometimes the way it chains attacks is BS, like the scream into the slide across the room, sometimes is unavoidable if you're close enough
Am i the only one that love souls game not for their bosses but for the rest? I really dont like to die 15 or more times to a boss if its too hard, I want to have fun, to explore beautiful worlds with amazing art and have fun with a big sword
But bosses are fun 😂 at least most of them (main bosses, not minibosses who turn into normal enemies). They are easy though, compared to fromsoft games. I don't mind the enemies either. But some are really shit.
I would put half of these bosses way higher. I enjoyed a vast majority of the fights in the game and experienced very minimal bullshit. Iron Wayfarer was a pretty good boss imo.
The biggest annoyance are bosses that can heal almost half their hp bar with a 2 second cast. Not to mention the area after their boss room, you’ll fight them as regular enemies. I don’t know why CI went out of its way to make players hate their game. All in all out of the 26 or so boss encounters, 8 of them are actually a BOSS, the rest are filler enemies and gank spams. Had high hopes within the first few hours, and now I just want to finish and clean up what I can. Such wasted potential
This is the only Souls game I've ever played where I actively avoid most encounters. I'll fight through an area once to grab items. After that, I'm not dealing with the ranged mobs, minibosses as regular enemies and exploding trash zombies - I'm booking it to the next area. EDIT: Holy shit. There are no words to describe how bad the final boss is. It's just...running around slapping dudes while trying to avoid an increasing amount of laser accurate fireballs and listening to a giant, ugly talking head give you a speech.
This is a game where you’ll run away to avoid a miniboss enemy just to immediately encounter another miniboss enemy, rinse and repeat. If you stop to try and fight them you’ll have to deal with all the other enemies you kited towards you because the enemy pathing is horrendous, they will not give up.
After Monarch i thought like hmmm maybe i'd give this game 7.5/10 tho, fight vs adyr made it 6.5/10 ;D Like i was shocked how bad it was. Yesterday I finished umbrall boss and i though that hmm, it deserves that 7/10, if polished properly maybe even more. Then in last location where you dont have to fight anyway, just move the platform game crashes constantly (PS5) and i cant finish it! Hilarious :D
@@rambro1stbudlmao, I remember getting to Adyr, seeing the bossfight and being like "so, is the ultimate demon herself Adyr bossfight about me going around catching flies? Alright dude", killed the flies real quick, got the ending, uninstalled🤣
I love the main bosses, they were all great EXCEPT Adyr, he was terrible and honestly a big disappointment... I'd put sundered monarch higher tho, he was definitely the TRUE final boss for me.
In terms of design and aesthetics almost all bosses are top tier ... But sadly many of them fall short in gameplay terms ... I agrree with the top 4....theses 4 bosses are top But i killed tancred in my first try and judge cleric on my second Elianne was a great pain though in terms of difficulty
Andreas is pretty hard depending on your build. As a chonky bonk paladin, he was a pushover. But as a dual-wielding short sword Umbral ninja, he pushed my poo in a few times.
I was dissapointed with the crow, i was hoping for a second faze where he would be enraged whn you killed the ghost lady but non of that happend, i also agree with the iron wayfarer his moves and explosions cover up the whole screen in that cramped coridor. Its a shame that some of the mini bosses have been turned into regular enemies like the huntress and the ruiner while some mini bosses should not have been presented as bosses at all imo such as the abiding defenders while some such as the crimson rectors should have been returning minibosses a little like the lightreaper. All of the main story bosses and unique bosses felt really cool and fun to me and I would put them in decent or higher too (beside adyr, we dont speak about adyr).
Oh yeaaa this one of bosses I got mad about, crow looks like a boss who could fight himself literally, but I was like ok least ghost girl shouldn’t have much hp and I’ll hv 2nd phase but nope, then adyr who became my fav character cuz of his lore and his appearance he had that final boss look but devs rlly made his weak ass burning minions final instead
I feel the game developers don't know how to create challenge except by adding more enemies.. 1000% accurate. I've been saying this too. I couldn't agree more. Even bosses literally have the most basic movesets. Most I beat on the 1-2 try and I'm not even using spells, just melee. The developers didn't even think if their own bosses. They really just took all souls bosses and put them into their game but with more jank
Really? I’m having a bit of a rough early game as a strength melee character, but that was before the patch. I didn’t have time to play it after the update. Or maybe it’s because I forgot to upgrade my weapon.
I like spurned proginey because it’s an understandable unfair; it’s a literal giant squashing you like a bug, it should be unfair. However, I wish it wasn’t so rinse and repeat and there was some more variety for how you deal damage. But I like how desperate the fight feels as you dodge swinging hands which would surely pulverize you should they connect, and hiding behind walls to survive fiery doom. I feel like it was really close to being a great gimmick, it just was missing something. It was right there on the cusp of greatness.
Hollow Crow the best-looking boss ruined by a bad boss design. I even liked the idea of the ghost lady but this would have been good as a warm up area where you first meet the crow only to face it in an epic battle later.
You can spam all the bosses with poison grenades 😂. Only boss pain in the rear is the Iron Wayfarer, the arena is so small his fire slams take up the whole screen you can't see anything and you instantly die
I really really loved the game, didn't mind the enemy density *for the most part*, as you can pretty easily adapt to it. But the enemy variety and placements encounters can be quite repetitive. I doubt they will, but I really wish each individual area had a unique enemy roster, like how the Forsaken Fen did. That aside, I also really loved the main bosses in this game, however I really do wish they were more agile and punished the player for just mindlessly dodging and hitting the whole time. They also feel like they don't have as much health as they should, compared to the damage that the player can put out very easily without min-maxing, nor do enough damage compared to the survivability of the player.
Agree with this. Specially on the bosses. Main bosses were great in my opinion, but too easy. Maybe Hushed Saint and Lightreaper were the hardest bosses in the game. I still enjoyed them alot. The mini bosses were just boring for the most part, considering they're basically just elites. Nothing special about them.
the amount of enemies in this game ruins the entire experience. They do absurds amounts of damage compared to your health, and they just do not give you a break. EVER. It's so fucking boring and frustrating. The Fire Castle I forgot the name is the worst area of the entire game. It's fucking PACKED with the same 4 or 5 enemies everywhere, and they all fucking throw fire at you all the time, it's reallyyyy painfull. The game had great potential, and is a very good game all in all, but could be an 8, 8.5, but ended up being a 5, as you said. A shame really.
Bramis castle was just insufferable, honestly one of the least enjoyable levels I've played through. Shame because the level design and visuals there are decent
Aint nothin wrong with a 5, if every game is an 8 or higher then no game is an 8 or higher, there MUST be average or below average in order for there to be above average yet no one understands this, its a lot like the rich vs the poor, in order for their to be rich people there MUST be poor people
Thank you for this entertaining list.Lies of P is a better and more entertaining game. The Iron Wayfarer is just unfair due to the limited space. The developers still have ways to go and lots to learn. It was a brave attempt, though. I dislike the dark world gimmick very much. Dervla was the coolest boss, though.
I wish I could agree with Rapturous Huntress but as a Greatsword Wielding walking armory, she spent more time getting slapped into the air than actually fighting me Also fun fact for the Bringers boss fight. I learned that they are indeed susceptible to being knocked off the arena lol
lightreaper : either parry him of drake, or use it as a free heal/buff time. if u start buffing just after the second fire is dodged u can apply 4 buffs before he ground slams...
"nitpicked" xd, this game literally show the huge difference in quality when u design a game to be as frustrating and annoying as possible instead of a good challenging fair game (like almost every from soft title except ds2). Emphasis on ds2, this game is just scholar on steroids
Fromsoft fanboys need to drag it down so that the rest of us don't catch on that Hexworks designed a damn good game here that's actually a hell of a lot of fun (though I do agree about enemy variety is lacking).
@@craigcochrane2284 FromSoft's souls are like Walter White's meds, while LotF is like regular meds. The later ones can also make you feel good, but the former ones send you straight to heaven (of masochists).
Yo…. I enjoy the game, thoroughly.. however, it’s got issues. It’s not flawless & I have a fairly solid list of grievances that I’d love to see addressed
What judge cleric is a pos boss legit attacks you while you are getting up 2 steal half your health bar I put lords of fallen down forever just because of the unfairness of that boss
Paladins Burden has to be the best fight in this game, a PVP fight in umbrel against a high poise knight who spams heals. Nothing else hits that anxiety level except maybe Judge Cleric phase 2.
Yeah not gonna lie the hollowed crow coulda been SOOO much better but we got cod zombies instead 🤣 would have been cooler to actually fight the boss itself with the same mechanics (minus the mob spawning)
I was waiting for this game and bought it on the day of its release. First lords of the fallen 2014 was my first souls game and somehow i dont know how but I downloaded that game (cracked version) in 2014. Honestly i didnt feel any flaws of first lords of the fallen in 2014 only because it was my first souls game. After so many struggle and deaths i beat that game. After that, one day i searched games like lords of the fallen 😂 then dark souls and demon souls were popped up. Then i played all those masterpieces. Thats how i became the fan of souls genre. I know if we look at it now, lords of the fallen 2014 was no way near to dark souls 1 or 2 or bloodborne but still it was fun if it was someone’s first souls game. Later after elden ring i was desperately waiting for lords of the fallen 2023 it was visually so stunning. I was expecting it to be atleast like dark souls 3 if not like elden ring. But its not sadly. World design is so good and well connected, story is also very good but overall gameplay was average. Repeated mob or too much mob at the same time and boss fights were not up to mark.
Most of these comments saying the bosses are ez probably only played ng+0 and never increased their game playthrough cycle. Sure the first playthrough is more fair with its difficulty but still challenging enough in certain areas. That said once u start ng+1 and higher the mobs/bosses are no joke and that's where the real difficulty is at. They're far too overtuned on ng+ but its fans whining about difficulty being ez that caused that to happen.
Personally i enjoyed the game very much and still do even now. The enemy density/placements could get very annoying at times but it's not as bad as it once was thx to the updates and devs listening to fans feedback.
I've been looking forward to this video since I finished my first playthrough of LOTF. First off: I absolutely adore this game. I had an amazing time with it and overall I really liked the bosses. However, I do agree with your choices for the worst bosses. The Hollow Crow was my least favorite boss in the whole game. Adyr was probably the worst purely gameplay-wise but I chose to just consider him as an epilogue after the "actual" final boss that gave me some cool lore and background knowledge. If you're not into lore though, I can absolutely understand why you'd dislike him so much. My favorite bosses were Harrower Dervla and Judge Cleric. I focused solely on deflecting their attacks and that contributed MASSIVELY to the fun factor. Harrower Dervla's overhead slam after she buffes her sword is probably the single most satisfying attack to parry in a video game ever (to me personally). The best part of the game for me was actually the level design. I started the souls games with DS1 ten years ago and the only game I've played since then that has a similar level of interconnected maps and shortcut systems has been LOTF. I had so much fun exploring and getting lost in this beautiful and dark world. While I do absolutely love this game and think it gets a lot of undeserved hate, I do agree with a lot of the points you make (enemy spam, enemy variety etc). Those didn't impact my overall experience but I can see why they made you enjoy the game less. For me personally, this game is almost a 9 of 10 and exactly what I was hoping for. However, this is my opinion and I respect that yours is quite different. I'm glad that you still enjoyed a majority of the main bosses though.
I do agree for the most part with this video, but I would 100% exchange Dervla and Tancred. Unbroken promise is definitely in my top 5 in the game. For me the top 5 would go like this; 1. Judge Cleric 2. Light reaper 3. Dervla/unbroken promise 4. Pieta 5. Hushed saint
People cry so much about the enemies in this game, I find it weird. I had a pretty fun experience by not rushing and expecting traps whenever certain obstacles would conceal what was behind them. Using speedy weapons probably helped too, since they allow you to reposition between attacks way better.
This game suffers from a poor release date, because our expectations are so high after the glory of Lies of P, and this frankly just good game suffers massively from it. Not that the game is blameless, it suffers from the problems mentioned in the video as well as bland areas except for a few of them, weird color palette and combat that is meh.
You actually can dismount light reaper from the dragon! Just Perry the dragon when it lands. It’s not easy but it makes the intro phase so much shorter!
Judge cleric fight was dragged down to just good, for me, due to the 2nd phases over use of particle effect, making it, at times, impossible to see the next attack coming, let alone, the boss herself.
Your #1 would be my dead last. LOL. And I actually loved Adyr. I do agree though that enemy design/variety/placement is by far the game's biggest flaw.
One of the best aspects of Souls games is how, later in a playthrough, they'll throw old bosses at you as regular enemies. It gives a real sense of accomplishment when, 20+ hours after dying over and over again to Capra Demon, you confidently slay like three more of them on your way to Lost Izalith. Maybe those half-dozen Taurus Demons off to the side, too. LotF... *completely* botches this mechanic. You'll beat a boss... and then fight them again as a regular enemy. In the VERY NEXT AREA. Over and over again, for multiple bosses. It completely misses the point of this as it relates to progression as a whole, and ultimately makes for a more disappointing experience. I so desperately wanted to like this game but it just ended up feeling like a lazy slog.
The orphan of cos , Ludwig, Nameless king, Gael and Midir are my favorite boss fights of all time, and not a single solitary boss in this game comes in at even a 10th of the challenge of any of them… doesn’t mean it’s a bad game but come on they could have used some creativity to pump up the difficulty just a bit for crying out loud… I agree with you bro. I hate when you say something negative about a boss in this game people go on about how you suck at it… fuckin laughable, just laughable.
the hushed saint made want to sleep how is that a great fight, and for tancred i got there with 3 heals and still got him first try first phase was easy the sec one felt clunky i just stay behind him and he struggles to hit me
i think if you take into consideration lore and story of some of these bosses they'll rank a lot higher. i liked the hollowed crow and adyr a lot due to story reasons same way i did Gwyn. and i liked the paladin's burden (issac) because of his tragic story told in the starting cutscene + stigmas and items related to him. as for the game i agree the bosses are easy, but i didn't encounter the same problem a lot of people had including you (a lot of mobs at the same time) because i don't run across the map and i take my time exploring and i use the available tools with the ranged attacks (especially the enhanced bloody hatchet that thing is good) so my experience was different. but yeah the game should fix the "placement" of some of them
The iron wayfarer fight pretty much summarizes what they intended with this game. it was either "we can't make tough bosses, so we add whatever it takes to create difficulty" or "we didn't have time or creativity to make more actual bosses, so we throw npcs with shitty circumstances and elite enemies passing as bosses". In the world, is annoying packs of op ranged and dogs, with hp bloated elites and a thousand skeletons to annoy the hell out of your movement. In bosses, it is stupid 2x2 arenas so that enemy attacks are actually any dangerous. The iron wayfarer its actually, in my book, kind of a decent fight, only because of the arena, and it would've been cool if it was the only time devs looked desperate to add difficulty in the game, but it was not. The only bosses that even pass the test imo are Pieta, Hushed Saint, judge cleric, the big dude, Dervla, the lightreaper and Tancred. The reused elites that they try to pass up as bosses are almost insulting.
In all games they recycle enemies, that is no problem for anyone, I think, plus the enemy design of this game is simply superior to any souls like, combining it with super dynamic combat. It's worth playing and making your own opinion.
I loved rapturous huntress lirenne! Her fight style reminded me of brad pitt in troy haha, so cool! Her design is very cool too, and the arena is beautiful Sadly the fight was super easy because the crazy guy with the hammer helped me defeat her so i didnt had time to understand what was going on
Wait you can meet the lightreaper a third time before his real bossfight? How did I never find the third Encounter (I only found the first and the one after the ruined)
@@ironmaiden93ofangmar To each their own, I guess. Glad you’ve enjoyed what I consider a rather middling new addition to the new souls-like genre (disclaimer: finished it twice, both umbral and radiant ending). The grievance about the last boss, in my case, is just one of many.
@@nematode8293 The game definitely has issues or thing I would have done differently. The final boss being one of them.
Stuff like Magic seems extremely strong comparated to mele, and a good plethora of Bugs, at least on release, i just think these devs barely playtested the Game, ended Up releasing as a umbalanced mess and kinda of buggy mess, which is sad
This game IS the perfect example of why playtesting IS soo important, and also of why enemy design/placement/variety is important and the most underrated aspect when doing a videogame
I disagree, I had a lot of fun with the bosses. To be honest I can’t compare it with lies of P, I haven’t played it because I hate the art style 😂
lol, I thought I was reading my own comment for a moment, I agree with every word.
This was a very good, enjoyable game.
NOT Elden Ring level but worth the money. Relax wimps...
That cleric women killed me more often then any Boss in a souls like Game … perhaps Not … i forgot the pope from lies of P
First sentence sold me on this video. Good job sir 👏
I loved the hollow crow, iron wayfarer, spurned progeny, harrower dervla, hushed saint, pieta, tancred, and judge cleric. The ost in this game fucking slaps and made fights like dervla and hushed saint so much better
the environment is amazing too I cant believe people say this game has bad graphics
The only bosses I even disliked were the Abiding Defenders and Andreas. Andreas can kill himself, actually.
I think they even removed an attack so that’s interesting.
just found your channel, appreciate your videos, they're fun mate
Thanks man
I enjoyed the game for what it was.
The insane damage plus extremely forgiving s I 1 shotted 95% of all bosses (I’m not good, cleric beast whooped my ass for hours)
Decent base and a sequel has potential. I’m off to play lies of p now.
I really liked the spurned progeny. Granted it was pretty easy, and thats coming from somebody who usually sucks at giant fights, but I thought the concept and design was awesome.
That boss fight reminds me a bit of Kraid from the metroid saga.
I hated fighting the congregator of flesh. the hitboxes and sometimes the way it chains attacks is BS, like the scream into the slide across the room, sometimes is unavoidable if you're close enough
Yeah, probably my least favorite boss in the game
I raged at it, but I was weirdly enjoying dying over and over again.
Am i the only one that love souls game not for their bosses but for the rest?
I really dont like to die 15 or more times to a boss if its too hard, I want to have fun, to explore beautiful worlds with amazing art and have fun with a big sword
Yea but the gatekeeping cultists known as souls fans dont like that so no one is allowed to like it
Fun fact: I died more times to Andreas of Ebb than any other boss
This Boss was Horror cause the little arena, the poison and the damage 😂🥵
Fans of this game are like: the bosses and enemies aren’t fun to fight but the world looks cool 11/10
Most of them are fun to fight tho
@@Eo-ms3kw few
The bosses are fun... every single standard enemy sucks. Either they're nothing, or just really annoying
Hilarious :D
this game is trash dude, but hey we can say we were actually brave enough to play it and finish it
@@raimo7310 Oh, absolutely. I got the ending that corresponds with lighting all the beacons and immediately uninstalled.

I love the main bosses, they were all great EXCEPT Adyr, he was terrible and honestly a big disappointment...
I'd put sundered monarch higher tho, he was definitely the TRUE final boss for me.
Wish they fixed the Hollow Crow Ice spam. In Coop that shit hits you regardless if you dodge...
In terms of design and aesthetics almost all bosses are top tier ...
But sadly many of them fall short in gameplay terms ...
I agrree with the top 4....theses 4 bosses are top
But i killed tancred in my first try and judge cleric on my second
Elianne was a great pain though in terms of difficulty
I was suprissed how great this game is!❤
Andreas is pretty hard depending on your build.
Good thing they improved enemy density and placement.
It was right there on the cusp of greatness.
i immediately clicked this video not even knowing the game existed
The biggest issue in this game that I had was enemy types. There weren’t as many as I was hoping for, and I hated how some of the bosses were reused.
On this day I found out about knocking the dood off his horse, haha I hated this fight because it dragged on till he decides to get off the horse.
Idk, i loved the bosses a lot, all my encounters were enjoyable, i felt everything was very fair. But how we perceive things vary
This game is good, but it def has its flaws. The hate that it gets is overbearing.
the amount of enemies in this game ruins the entire experience.
Aint nothin wrong with a 5, if every game is an 8 or higher then no game is an 8 or higher, there MUST be average or below average in order for there to be above average yet no one understands this, its a lot like the rich vs the poor, in order for their to be rich people there MUST be poor people
@@themanwithnoname1839 That was deep. And true.
I wish I could agree with Rapturous Huntress but as a Greatsword Wielding walking armory, she spent more time getting slapped into the air than actually fighting me
Also fun fact for the Bringers boss fight. I learned that they are indeed susceptible to being knocked off the arena lol
lightreaper : either parry him of drake, or use it as a free heal/buff time. if u start buffing just after the second fire is dodged u can apply 4 buffs before he ground slams...
Its actually really easy to dismount lightreaper with a parry. We he does the dive bomb hit parry and the window is pretty generous!
This is definitely one of the boss rosters ever made
This is definitely one of the UA-cam videos ever made
Grown up, both of you
I love this game and especially the main bosses. Don’t think I’ve seen a game as nit picked by randoms online as much as this one.

You mentioned Lu Bu, you have my respect
I will always be the defender of dark souls 2 type red headed step child souls games. Lords of the fallen is a fine game, don't be so elitist!
I do agree for the most part with this video, but I would 100% exchange Dervla and Tancred. Unbroken promise is definitely in my top 5 in the game. For me the top 5 would go like this;
1. Judge Cleric
2. Light reaper
3. Dervla/unbroken promise
4. Pieta
5. Hushed saint
Pretty good list.
I could argue here and there but overall only Hush Saint is nowhere near this high for me.
Is this game worth the buy?
Yes!
I think it is, but it's kind of like diet Dark Souls.
Spurned progeny is only tedious if you just use melee. With all the options in this game you can do damage the entire fight constantly
Really good list. Reinhold is my number #1
I never even noticed the little totem while fighting the ruiner guys 😂
Unfortunately for me to the second phase of the judge bugged and she was just standing there until i killed her
you could've used a vestige moth or something...
Judge cleric fight was dragged down to just good, for me, due to the 2nd phases over use of particle effect, making it, at times, impossible to see the next attack coming, let alone, the boss herself.
IDK man, an Old God begging me not to kill it for 3 minute4s its a visceral power trip I didnt know I wanted.
Devs really phoned it in with some of the bosses, it’s shocking how low effort some of them are.
Funny thing about rapturous huntress is that i had rolled to the side if the room when she summoned the barriers so
Fun fact: you can soul flay the ruiner off the bridge
Your #1 would be my dead last. LOL. And I actually loved Adyr.
I do agree though that enemy design/variety/placement is by far the game's biggest flaw.
Wtf🤣🤣🤣 The second time I saw the Light Reaper was the final one you showed. What did I just do?
The light reaper didn't even spawn for me in the snow arena so I had to wait for the final encounter
Never really noticed the enemy diversity till u said something and now I’m pissed lol
Light reaper is my favorite boss fight throughout this game. Most challenging and just awesome spectacle wise if you ask me.
I hate when you say something negative about a boss in this game people go on about how you suck at it… fuckin laughable, just laughable.
the hushed saint made want to sleep how is that a great fight, and for tancred i got there with 3 heals and still got him first try first phase was easy the sec one felt clunky i just stay behind him and he struggles to hit me
i think if you take into consideration lore and story of some of these bosses they'll rank a lot higher. i liked the hollowed crow and adyr a lot due to story reasons same way i did Gwyn. and i liked the paladin's burden (issac) because of his tragic story told in the starting cutscene + stigmas and items related to him. as for the game i agree the bosses are easy, but i didn't encounter the same problem a lot of people had including you (a lot of mobs at the same time) because i don't run across the map and i take my time exploring and i use the available tools with the ranged attacks (especially the enhanced bloody hatchet that thing is good) so my experience was different. but yeah the game should fix the "placement" of some of them
I just finished my first playthrough, I enjoyed the game, but needs more enemy variety I agree. I hated the reuse of sinner bosses being so prevalent
Congregator of flesh is just a bs version of toad Prince from witcher 3 hearts of stone.
The reused elites that they try to pass up as bosses are almost insulting.
you named most of the bosses when you mentioned bosses that pass the test. The minibosses are meant to introduce new enemies, and they are quite cool
Mid game w horrible boss fights. Build options were nice, but overall its a bad soulslike game IMO.
In all games they recycle enemies, that is no problem for anyone, I think, plus the enemy design of this game is simply superior to any souls like, combining it with super dynamic combat. It's worth playing and making your own opinion.
The hollow crow feels like a skylanders boss
I honestly like 90 percent of the minibosses more than the actual bosses
I loved rapturous huntress lirenne! Her fight style reminded me of brad pitt in troy haha, so cool!
Her design is very cool too, and the arena is beautiful
Sadly the fight was super easy because the crazy guy with the hammer helped me defeat her so i didnt had time to understand what was going on
Wait you can meet the lightreaper a third time before his real bossfight?
How did I never find the third Encounter (I only found the first and the one after the ruined)
Am i the only that thinks the weird framerate in the blood is intentional?
The fact that this game is still revered in spite of culminating with that utter trash of a final boss fight boggles my mind.
Dark Souls 1??
This game is amazing. Sorry that such a bold statement makes you seethe like that 😂
@@ironmaiden93ofangmar To each their own, I guess.
But overall, I enjoyed my experience with the game, in terms of combat, other gameplay mechanics, exploration, most main bosses (though they were easy), music, lore, aesthetic, etc. Aside from some overtly frustrating moments (which I didn't mind most of the time). In terms of online play, it needs to be fixed in many aspects.
@@ironmaiden93ofangmar Glad you enjoyed it! It's not bad by any stretch of imagination (looking at you, Dolmen and Immortal Unchained). I just found it rather middling. Besides the obvious gripes (which you listed), even the artstyle and arcane storytelling felt somewhat derivative to me. But this is very much a subjective preference.
Currently on the hollowed crow and nearly every boss fight has been gimicky and cheesy
The Hushed Saint fight reminds me of Ganondorf from the Forest Temple in The Ocarina of Time.
