On my point at 14:26 - Maybe I set expectations too high based on Fromsoft's previous DLC bosses that were a huge upgrade from base game, and should rather view Shadow of the Erdtree as almost its own thing. It's still crazy there's only 2 bad bosses here (NOT COUNTING ALL THE GOD DAMN FURNACE GOLEMS).
Bro I had a weak build and with my longsword I had to hit the Furnace Golem in Rauh with like 25 jump attacks before it staggered ONCE, and as you know you have to do it 6 times...Peak gameplay.
I feel like it’s insane they managed to jam in as much complexity and variety in the movesets as they did considering this a DLC and not entire new sequel and that we still got 10 solid quality remembrance bosses. So it’s not that big of deal that the bosses don’t do anything drastically different, it’s just more ER and more refined and that’s amazing. Not to mention it’s hard to imagine them improving significantly on the base game bosses considering they were already so good.
Bro I SUPER recommend using pest threads or pest thread spears against furnace golems it staggers them really fast and makes the fight actually bearable
Agreed i like his elegant movements. I can feel a sense if confidence in his swings, he doesn't try to hit you as fast as possible because he doesn't need to. He is the lord of Frenzied Flame a threat of cosmic proportions . Also I love that when he uses his spells he always spread his arms wide open . Like ' witness the chaos' .
Agreed. So unnerving how this force of chaos moves so gracefully. I do wish he maybe had an insane 3rd phase at like 30% HP that took it to a new level. Still a top tier fight tho.
i think it's awesome. introduces a sense of almost alien weightlessness to his movements esp with the delays, as his body swirls around the orb of frenzied flame like a planet caught in some greater body's orbit to come and cut you down. brings a sort of strange elegance especially alongside the manor setting to the otherwise very disorganized frenzied flame in base game .
Why do people hate Gaius so much? He wasn't that bad. I thought some of his gravity moves were cool. Is it the charge? Or his long combo with the boar added in? Idk, I thought he was maybe the best mounted boss fight besides Loretta of the Haligtree.
He’s just kinda… boring. Like it almost feels like he’s supposed to evoke Gyobu from Sekiro but he doesn’t talk so there’s no bombast, he’s a sidepath in the shadowkeep with zero buildup, his moveset is really simple and gets boring really fast. He’s just overall such a waste of a remembrance boss.
@@tonystarrk4859 the bar really isn’t too high for good mounted bosses. His charge attack is bullshit, all of his hitboxes in general suck, his moveset is tiny for a remembrance boss, his music is recycled miniboss music, and the whole area he guards is just 5 shadow tree blessings. It’s all dissapointing and a waste of space
For me, Messmer is honest to god on par with Slave Knight Gael as one of the best bosses FromSoft has ever made. He is the first boss I have fought in a long time that legitimately gave me goosebumps through my entire body while fighting him. He just has such a perfect combination of a challenging yet fair moveset, killer soundtrack, very tragic lore, and incredible visual design,
Lately I've seen a lot of people saying that Messmer is their new favourite boss instead of Gael and I'm really here for it. I love Gael too but I'd love it if people from now on started worshipping Messmer as much as they did him
frankly, i think promised consort, bayle, midra and renalla are better, but frankly all the bosses in this dlc are top tier, although personally i dont really think that highly of older games bosses like gael, they seem overblown and i think nostalgia has alot to do with those opinions. gael is still a great boss though dont get me wrong, but tbh i found most of elden rings top tier bosses to be far above him in almost everyway but maybe music, same goes for ludwig and kos.
@@yourveryownlocalmoron6874 About damn time considering Gael, while excellent, wasnt even the best boss at the time he came out. And Elden Ring base game has like 5 bosses that surpass him. It took Messmer who might just be Miyazaki's magnum opus for people to stop(or at least slow down with) dickriding Gael.
fun fact: Datamining the dlc actually reveals Jori and the Fat dude did indeed have a remembrance dedicated to them. but they probably changed it to a dungeon boss.
I guess it means that Jori and the Fat guy could've been a duo. But for what it's worth, thank Michael Zaki for making Jori a normal dungeon boss because he's already stupidly annoying. He's one of the few who truly deserves the hate that ER bosses get.
I really enjoyed Putrescent Knight because he was so weird. His idle stance with his blade above his head looked like he was always about to attack and tripped me up like “oh shit is he gonna attack? No? He looks like he will”
Man this guy is definitely the best at making these boss and area rankings, I don’t know why but other peoples videos about this topic are just not as well made
Might be a bit cheesy to say, but he really is a boss and gameplay expert when it comes to these games, he singlehandedly shifted my perspective on Elden Ring's boss design philosophy and made me adapt to the game's combat such as utilizing jumps, positioning and attacking mid-combo instead of just playing the game like i'm playing DS3 or Bloodborne.
My favourite from the DLC has to be Midra, the fight is a lot simpler when compared to the likes of Radahn or Rellana, but the presentation and OST sells it for me. I like that the difficulty was a bit more tame and not an experience akin to shoving a hot wire down my urethra. But i can certaily see why one would deem him to be a bit lacking, regardless, he is great
Midra was my favorite. Difficulty doesn't equal quality, so Midra not being a wall to bash my head against was perfectly fine. The OST is my favorite in the game, the moveset felt more akin to what you would find in older souls games, and the build up was incredibly well done.
Loved Midra. Was definitely one of the peak moments with the soundtrack/ arena/ movements etc. Like you said, he wasn’t too hard; it only took me 2 tries, but that made the fight even cooler. Then again, Messmer and a bunch of the other fights took me 2 or less tries as well, so he wasn’t that much easier all things considered
I think thats the point. He's confident now that he's embraced his status as the lord. Opening his arms wide as flames burst out of his head and going slowly and methodically with his attacks as if he's not even bothered by you. It was nice for a change.
Haha i actually cant believe the amount of your ranking that ive predicted, the moment i fought rellana i was like "this is a magicat amazing tier boss"
@@magicat7356 Maybe if she wasn't so overtuned + cringe Pontiff fanservice. Seriously way too much fanservice in this DLC it's to the point of feeling like a circlejerk
Sanguine Nobl Nataan is quite obviously a gameplay addition. Without him, the gank could be insanely unfun. However lorewise it makes some sense. Ansbach was searching for what was going on. Wighout our help it took him some time to figure it out, and then Leda killed him, but not before he sent Nataan to help us.
I feel like Radahn wasn't challenging enough, he could definitely use some tweaks to make him feel like the true final boss for the game, like right off the top of my head for example: 1- miquella should steal your heart from the first grab, bad dodgers shall not be given a second chance 2- the clones shouldn't just stun you and do like 15 damage, it should be 300 per clone minimum 3- Malenia's life steal for every attack 4- replace the stunlocking holy beams with malekith's destined death flames 5- that nuke he does at around 30-40% hp should have perfect tracking and he should land on you wherever you are, and only giving you a 1 frame window to dodge it, and if you miraculously do, there should be a lingering destined death flames covering up the entire arena for at least 5 seconds so that if you weren't good enough to kill him before he nukes, you didn't even deserve to live
I don't like how radahn is simultaneously ball bustingly hard and disappointingly simple. He has almost no combo variation or positioning based attacks and since the best place to be is right next to him most of the fight is just dodging the same combos over and over again in the same way. Most of his more fun attacks he'll only do from mid range but he only has like one move that repositions him away from you. He kind of reminds me of what you said in the Lies of P video about the bosses not having enough mobility. Plus his short openings plus time wasting attacks like the nuke make phase 2 just take forever. Even after getting decent at the fight i don't find it nearly as fun as a lot of the other more flexible bosses.
@@wboyajian YEAH, that's a great idea. I did the ng+ on my dlc character with that... and Radahn fell on the first try 😅after the 70+ I took before, that was a weird surprise (str/faith, swapping between a holy black steel hammer, fireknight sword, horned warrior greatsword and death knight longhaft axe... Str/fth has access to almost every damage type, it's so fun)
@@woodchipdust I disagree tho, have around 4 kills without any of those, just rolling r1s or jump heavies, and while they were more difficult, I still had a blast learning and executing the fight I just pointed out that the reflecting was my favorite kill (parry is kinda satisfying too, but damn was it easy to pull off)
Good video, your ranking is very similar to mine. However I have Metyr ranked a little higher because I figured out how to dodge the black hole lazer attack. All you have to do is run as far away from the boss as possible as soon as the boss starts the initial wind up animation and you can completely out position it. Good luck with your next video!
damn almost the same top 3 for me, except mine goes like this: 1.Messmer 2.Bayle 3.Radahn Rellana could've made it if her presentation wasnt so boring, also find her arena to be lacking. Looks like the same arena you fight the Lorreta's illusion in Carian Manor.
@@gamerforlife3946 I guess, but not gonna lie not a big fan of most of her combo. Idk why even though yes its well design, i guess the swings looks samey? I like most of Radahn's attack more, plus i always uses the deflect tear now so i guess most of his bs move is a little less frustrating for me.
The Jagged Peak Drakes are not just only slightly altered dragons from the base game, they are full of jank too. The first one especially will routinely get stuck on cliffs, and his fire will often turn invisible in the arena. I kept getting hit by invisible flames.
Overall i think the DLC is the best content fromsoft has made, it improves the dungeons and the world design by making it more layered and having less dungeons but them being higher quality. As for the bosses i think its an amazing roster, i would say there isn't a single main/remembarance boss below B tier and there are some amazing mini bosses. As for my complaints i think cerulian coast and the red southern region are too empty for how big they are, places like jagged peak, finger ruins and abyssal woods are better because they are more empty, they serve as amazing build up for the fights to come. I would like to see you rank all the areas next i think that would be a great video and also your overall review of the DLC + all DLCs ranked. Lots of stuff to talk about.
I agree about jagged peak and the finger ruins, but I think the abyssal woods would have been better with a bit more to find and more dangerous enemies, also make the winter lanterns truly invulnerable. For how intimidating that place looked, it wasn't dangerous enough in py opinion. But I didn't hate it like some have
Radahn, Dancer of Ranuh and Sennesax(?) are D tiers for me, I thought those three were really jank fights. But I really liked the other bosses! Messmer might be my favorite fight Fromsoft has made. And I actually had a ton of fun on Putrescent (Orphan 2.0!) and Gaius.
@@wr5488 I was talking about main bosses, i agree about sennesax that fight is freaking garbage and i have no idea why its even in the DLC, its just annoying as hell.
@@bonjour7209 fair take, i think that section on the right after you get past winter lanterns could have been cut, like that part is too empty for how big it is but i still love the area, its the most unique place in the whole game and the whole horror atmosphere it has going for it is executed briliantly imo. Also i agree that winter lanterns shouldn't be parriable.
I thought the DLC was pretty amazing!!..... except for the bosses. There were some pretty amazing bosses, but most of them are outclassed by bosses from even the base game. And also, the OST was not that great either.
Bayle could just be the best mechanically designed fight in these games (outside of Sekiro bosses). Only problem with him is the attack that opens up his phase two. Sometimes he glides in a weird way through the rocks which makes your camera unlock and you'd just take damage or flat out die if unlucky. Outside of this, pure insanity. I absolutely love him.
Really? I saw a lot people that liked him and I like him as well, he's not an amazing boss because of some of the problems he has, but he's still a high great tier boss imo.
His first phase is great minus the cross slash, second phase is messy. Its not fundamentally broken though. Slow down the cross slash, tone down the visuals a bit, and reduce the AOE spam slightly and you have an amazing boss.
Main Bosses/Remembrance Bosses (My Ranking) From Worst To Best 12. Metyr [78/100] - Decent 11. Commander Gaius [79/100] - Good 10. Putrescent Knight [80/100] - Good 9. Scadutree Avatar [82/100] - Very Good 8. Romina, Saint Of The Bud [85/100] - Solid 7. Needle Knight Leda & Allies [87/100] - Solid 6. Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame [90/100] - Great 5. Divine Beast Dancing Lion [92/100] - Amazing 4. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight [94/100] - Masterpiece 3. Messmer, The Impaler [95/100] - Masterpiece 2. Bayle The Dread [95/100] - Masterpiece 1. Promised Consort Radahn [95/100] - Masterpiece 12. Metyr - Despite being the worst out of every fight mentioned, she's still a solid boss that I have almost no issues with, and I always find her fun to fight. 11. Commander Gaius - This dude is so overhated ngl. I don't think he gives off Remembrance Boss vibes, but he's really not bad at all. The charge attack is easier to dodge than say, something like Triple Slash, and I think that on a good day, I would rank him as high as low A tier. 10. Putrescent Knight - It kind of pains me to put such a uniquely designed boss fight this low, but I just have to. There's nothing he does that's outright outstanding, but I gotta say, he is a very satisfying boss to dodge. 9. Scadutree Avatar - Yeah, no. It's a great boss undoubtedly. Not sure what people were complaining about. It's got a simple moveset, but it's fun and fair, and I love the fakeouts it has after each phase. Really made for a surprising and memorable encounter. 8. Romina, Saint Of The Bud - Her moveset is actually perfect ngl. I don't think she needs an increase in complexity or anything like that. I just wish they did more with her in terms of presentation. I'm also a huge fan of her design and her arena. I think it goes so damn hard. 7. Needle Knight Leda & Allies - With summons, this fight is literal peak. I think most people would've preferred this as a final boss tbh. It's such a unique encounter, and I love how emotionally charged and narratively rich it is compared to the other fights. The dialogue is the coolest thing about this fight, and I love that Avengers vibe it gives off. 6. Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame - Lore is top tier, and the OST is otherworldly good. That being said, fairly disappointing moveset and with a difficulty that I find to be way too tame for my liking. Even so, amazing boss fight with that classic DS3-esque flow, but it would've benefitted from a few more moves. I would've liked it if it was designed to be more like Radagon's boss. 5. Divine Beast Dancing Lion - A masterpiece of a boss fight. Everything about it is stunning. Sadly, it still wouldn't be as good as my top 4 even if the camera issues were fixed. 4. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight - This boss is phenomenal, and I loved how much more polished her moveset was in comparison to nearly every other boss. It really brought in so much replayability, and idk. Her moveset is just the pinnacle of what you'd expect from FromSoft at this point. Though I'm ngl, I do still find myself wishing she had a few more moves, aka a few more mixups. 3. Messmer, The Impaler - I'm sorry, but this boss fight is overrated. It's easily one of the best fights in the game no doubt, but it's not difficult or replayable enough for me to rank it any higher than this. While I do think very highly of it, I never really found it to be on the level of my top 2 DLC bosses. Even so, it's still a masterclass in OST, dialogue, cutscenes, lore, and even boss design, but it just doesn't reach the heights that my top 2 did. 2. Bayle The Dread - The actual, best boss fight in the entirety of the DLC. Peak design, peak OST, peak spectacle, peak dragon fight, peak fight in general.... yeah, almost. And get ready for my essay because oh boy. 1. Consort Radahn - Consort Radahn is my overall favorite DLC boss as well as best boss, and while it is kind of close between him and Bayle, I much prefer this fight overall. There's something about the difficulty and the spectacle that really makes this fight #1 worthy. I know this might seem like a joke to place him here above the likes of Bayle or Messmer, but I'm being completely honest here. This boss is fucking amazing! I think he is nearly perfect design wise, but with a few hindrances that do hold him back nevertheless. I have already learned how to remedy the issue that is the Triple Slash move, and after quite a few hours, the fight has become even more fun with that move no longer being as much of a threat (though it still catches me off guard from time to time haha). He's essentially become the new Malenia of Elden Ring, and I'm so glad because there always seems to be controversies surrounding hard and seemingly unfair bosses like this one when in reality, it's mostly nothing more than just a skill issue and people that don't think he's all that fun to fight, which is fine with me. And yes, you might think that skill issue has become such a childish thing to say nowadays, especially with seemingly unfair moves that come packaged in some bosses, but I do genuinely think that it fundamentally boils down to a lack of skill (most of the time, anyway. not always. looking at you, fire giant.) Speaking from personal experience alone, I used to despise fighting bosses like Demon Of Hatred, Snake Eyes, Radagon, Morgott, Headless, Underwater Headless, Guardian Ape, just to name a few because I used to think they were either annoying af or straight up unfair and unfun. And it wasn't until I learned how to properly deal with their movesets did I start to finally have fun with all of them. What I thought were initial design flaws was literally nothing more than me lacking the necessary skill and knowledge to make it fun. Malenia was mostly the same, except she was always fun to fight, and it's hilarious that Consort Radahn followed right after her. Spoiler alert, Consort Radahn is not nearly as unfair as people think. Maybe for the people with visual issues, but it really wasn't that bad for me. I'd argue that the obstruction in Malenia's phase 2 was just as bad, yet that doesn't seem to be the main complaint that people have for that particular fight. And yes, waterfowl sux lmao git gud. No, i'm kidding. it's really not that bad, I swear. Just look up a guide for it and practice it as much as you can. it's not a seemingly impossible task, and it doesn't take any pixel perfect dodging (believe me, i've pulled off tactics in other games that took me much longer to get down consistently), and if you think looking up a guide for it is bad design, then surely you don't also think that NPC questlines are bad design as well? because there is no way in hell people are going to complete them without looking up where to go. lmao. i mean, why do so many people play the game completely blind and refuse to look up guides, even if it's just for bosses? And why is it that whenever they are forced to because they can't figure it out for themselves, they get all whiney, as if not figuring it out is a huge blow to their ego? So much so, that some people believe it to be bad design? (which is only true half the time). I swear, some people have HUGE ego issues. Maybe drop the pride, (fuck you Asmongold) and learn from others instead of relying only on yourself. you will NEVER be able to figure everything out on your own, and to not take advantage of a tool like the internet for this game is nothing more than your shitty pride talking. get rid of it and learn/execute what you've learned as much as you can before some of you start complaining. And to drive my point home, one of my favorite games of all-time is only as fun as it is because it has been thoroughly discovered and explored for many, many years, and the level of knowledge and mechanical depth to it is literally unmatched. Most of the cool shit you can pull off for it takes actual RESEARCH from the internet, yet nobody seems to complain that they have to look that shit up just to pull off what we now call 'basic looking moves'. Hint: the game is Super Smash Bros. Melee, or any Super Smash game in general. I swear, if people say that Waterfowl is dogshit simply because they were forced to look up a guide for it one more god damn time... Anyway, going back to Radahn... If you don't think he ranks that highly because his phase 2 is unbalanced, then that's also fine with me. (I mean, Malenia is also unbalanced af but that's besides the point). But I had FUN with him, and I really don't think he needs any nerfs aside from triple slash and the light attacks (artificial difficulty). That being said, I will agree with all the people that think he's an unfinished boss fight, or that his moveset needed more time in the oven. Even so, he's still a masterpiece to me, and even if someone pointed a gun to my head, I would still refuse to call him a bad fight. I think that people will eventually warm up to Radahn as well as the other bosses like Gaius, just like how they did with Malenia, though that's going to be harder with the lack of a boss rush mode, which is honestly such a shame because if that didn't exist, most people would still be hating on Demon Of Hatred and Guardian Ape in Sekiro LOL.
I dont think Romina is less complex then Margit the fell omen (not morgot) she has more complex moves, unique design and in my opinion awesome music with reference to Milenia.
She was amazing for a short time that I fought her but unfortunately I beat her 1st try. Her telegraphs are actually too good, if you have good reflex you can kill her 1st try as well, but she looks cool at RL1 run, so I gotta try that soon.
@@EasyMoney_SniperR Yep I fought her after killing most bosses since she is so close to end and completely destroyed her. I think she is supposed to be fought before Messmer.
I would LOVE to see you discussing the world design of the dlc/comparing it to the base game. I also love all your other ideas though, so just do whatever you want!
Awesome video. Pretty much agree with all the choices here and all the points that were brought up against or in favor of the bosses were understandable and reasonable. Hope this video takes off man cause you deserve it, keep up the good work brother.
I think Midra moves the way he does simply because at least to him this moment is pure bliss, he's spent the better part of god knows how long enduring the pull of the frenzied flame along with the agony of that sword digging into every part of his body and now because of us pushing him over the edge those pain's are gone, his body is free, his mind one with the frenzy, he has gone from weakness to strength and moves like a man finally in control, I mean just look at the way he glides through the air or swaggers with elated confidence shooting frenzy at you and tell me he doesn't look like he's feeling anything other's than bliss It's pretty much like being blind for 20 years and then suddenly being able to see.
That’s a cool insight dude! One interpretation that I also like is that the frenzied flame itself is not a wild chaos, but more like calculating deliberate force of death itself
So my remembrance boss list (DLC only obviously) go's like this. 11 Gaius 10 Rellana (I know I'm sorry) 9 Putrescent 8 Metyr 7 Scadatar 6 Romina 5 Dancing Lion 4 Radahn 3 Messmer 2 Midra 1 BAYLE VILE BAYLE! I can explain why every boss is where they are in my opinion if you desire, I know Rellana at 10 is a hot take but I will stand by that opinion. This list does change a lot like who know's Midra might climb into 1st and Metyr might go back in the 11th spot IDK (Be blessed brothers hope the best for y'all!✝✝✝)
Maybe im crazy, but I absolutely hated fighting Radahn. Id go as far as to say he was my least favorite fight in the dlc, and before the fromsoft glazers show up, I beat him on my own, learned the whole fight in and out, and didn’t use magic or cheese. I just genuinely thought that his second phase lightbeams ruined the fight and made it a complete mess visually, like half the time my screen was covered with them and i couldnt see where my player was or what Radahn was doing next. Not to mention that my PC would literally have framerate issues thanks to it. Its a thrilling fight and a crazy spectacle, but it felt extremely inconsistent and hinged in trial and error, which disappoints me, since i rlly wanted to like the fight, but it just wasnt a fun experience at all, like most other remembrance fights were imo.
Goated tier list mine is kinda same too, 1-Messmer 2-Rellana 3-Midra 4 and 5 Bayle and Radahn can’t decide 6- Putrescent 7- SkibidiTree 8-Divine Beast 9-“Sad… Forever ?” 10-Romina 11-Gaius 12- Metyr But all these 12 are at least good fights maybe except metyr and gaius
Agreed on placing Metyr at the bottom, from the main bosses, i'd say it deserves the bad tier. Gaius is uninspired, but atleast he has a flow to his combat (his charge is still terrible). Metyr is all spectacle with absolutely horrendous gameplay attached to it.
Why is Romina that low? She's kinda too easy but her design and moveset is amazing and she has the best telegraphs in all of FromSoftware games. There's no bullshit except for one attack in phase 2 that doesn't change anything until you're playing at RL1
btw I will say, watching your boss footage has made me realize I ought to trial and error jump dodges more often, my jaw was dropping at the Rellana fight when you were hopping over half her attacks.
Messmer is close to boss perfection imo. He i perfectly balanced. Messmer deserved 2 health bars. One for phase 1, and 1 for phase 2, which is imo the only negative thing about that fight. The more I fight him, the more I love that boss. And now he is in my top 5 favorite Souls boss fights of all time
I thought the same about Midra. They should’ve gave him a huge attack as a phase 3. Doesn’t have to be hard, just cinematic. Like the flaming ceiling raining down on the player, really empathizing that only this small wooden mansion is keeping this god from destroying the world. I was so disappointed when I realized there isn’t a phase 3, even tho he entered phase to at around 2/3 HP.
Messmer by far in my top 5 best FS bosses ❤ he will stay there for long in his sweet spot along with ludwig and gael. These 3 are just pure art in boss design
Finally I get to know what my opinions are for the bosses, thanks Magicat! (On a more serious note, I actually really like that Midra's moveset is so slow and smooth compared to basically every other boss in the game. You go into the fight expecting the most chaotic / erratic attacks ever to match the music and setting of the frenzied flame, only for Midra's movements to be almost disturbingly smooth and coordinated - especially compared to "phase 1" before the transformation where he IS just erratically running at you while maniacally screaming. It makes him stand out from the rest of the bosses and adds to the unsettling nature of the fight IMO)
Jori was actually going to be a remembrance boss. The art for his remembrance still exists, and he has his own OST with a unique boss room that doesn't look like it belongs in catacombs. They probably changed him down the line and made Gaius a remembrance boss instead.
So the final dlc boss is radahn again He's donning the same armor again He's using the same swords and the same gravity magic again He has pretty much the same ost in phase 1 again He's using the same animation from the story trailer in his introduction again His moveset is a bunch of repurposed assets from multiple other bosse like the original radahn, mohg, Godfrey, gaius, artorias and Pontiff sulyvahn His only original moves are the double cross move (broken) the after image attacks (looks unfinished) the new rock throw which is the only decent attack in the fight (only to be ruined in phase 2) and the grab which is whatever He has almost no combo variations, the visual clarity is messy with the particle effects and miquella's hair obscuring alot of his moves, the stunlock in phase 2 is outrageous and the fight offers pretty much nothing unique or original compared to other fights in the same dlc This fight is abysmal, it's not only too familiar to something we already know but feels rushed and put together last minute, like you said modded and fanfictiony which is why it blows my mind to see you put it so high
The biggest issue I have with the DLC is how many weapons should have had a unique moveset but didn't. The Death Knight Twinaxes especially. Though I can't be mad, given we got 8 new weapon types and even some of those had unique movesets among themselves. So it balances out in their favor still.
Midra is technically a DS3 boss. Very slow and telegraphed moveset, increadibly large windows...he is way too weak for this game. Radahn can't be amazing just because he has too much objective problems: triple slice is broken (btw it still stunlocks you to death in second phase because of beams), his hitboxes are atrotious, he can get bugged and deal damage to you right in the dodge animation, he has so much effects on the arena that you die more because you can't see shit, not because of making an actual mistake, he resets his poise over 6 seconds, so basically every time he starts a long attack - "ah, shit, here we go again". This is a pretty good boss, but no further than this.
That's why I liked Midra, he was amazing, simpler moveset instead of millions AoE's and I agree with the rest of the comment, but Radahn is still a great tier boss for me.
I seen a clip where he jumped up for the meteor attack then the player begins running for the edge of the arena and starts gross attacked in the back because instead of finishing the meteor be apparently just materialized behind him and began a new combo. The boss is just unfinished.
I had 0 scad fragments my first play-through so Midra was NOT weak. Took a long time to bring him down and a single mistake could end me. Was an engaging experience.
@@anonymousperson8903 I'm not talking about putting sticks into your wheels and altering your experience. You brought it on yourself willingly. I estimate a boss from the point of being on equal level. And in terms of his moveset. Everything is strong when it oneshots you and you deal 0 damage. But moveset wise this is the weakest DLC boss by a large margin.
@@Sargatas Oh I wasn't saying it was the normal experience. I'm just saying when he doesn't go down fast his move-set is not that easy. Not the hardest either though.
Love to see the Rellana praise! Also, out of the choices given at the end, I think that I would be the most interested in seeing a video ranking the DLCs. I don’t think it would be that surprising of a list, but I’m interested in seeing how you would construct that type of video.
Those are the only two bosses (outside of Bloodborne and Sekiro) where I bothered to learn parrying. Unfortunately for me, I still sucked at parrying Radahn in phase 2. Eventually, I resorted to using the Bloodfiend's Arm to defeat him. It was after the patch nerfed it somewhat, but it still was very effective against him.
Mesmer might just be my favorite from soft boss oat, the fight along with the lore, and those trailers👀 mesmer just had such an insane buildup and he 100% delivered.
I don't like Malenia as a boss at all. Many of her attacks by the time you beat her you either won't know how to dodge at all or watch some sort of guide on how to do so. Like I can't imagine a regular player realising how to reliably dodge Waterfowl dance. Unlike her, Messmer's attacks are much easier to understand how to dodge. I don't like bosses with overcomplicated attacks that you wouldn't know how to dodge until you die to them a 100 or so times. That's just a bad boss design imo, hence why Mohg, Lord of Blood is my favourite boss in the game.
@@trobitman This game is about learning how to dodge bosses attacks lmao. Just git gud, the boss was supposed to be hard and they did a great job at that. Life steal mechanic is very good as well, without it she would be much easier and Messmer is just too easy, he couldn't be a Malenia 2.0, don't get me wrong, he is my favorite boss in the game now, but he's too easy, I was expecting 2nd health bar.
I'd put Radahn much lower. Not what I wanted to see as the final boss in the dlc at all. Especially because the original Radahn had a much higher impact on the game and was one of the best bosses i've ever seen in a videogame. You can only pull one of those rematches if the 2nd fight is better than the first, which it wasn't. The first part was really easy to remember, the 2nd part used gimmicks and janky hitboxes. Messmer is without a doubt the best boss in the entire game. And Bayle would be 2nd for me. The moment the sound completely cuts off and he spreads those magic wings was even cooler than original Radahns comet strike.
@@abobo777 The difficulty of his charge is over-stated, although it IS hard to dodge if he starts it from far away. Overall though I enjoyed weaving my attacks in between his moves. If anything I wish his new attacks in the second phase were more difficult to deal with. The spinny one is extremely forgiving (too forgiving) if you just dodge into it, and he hardly even uses the more difficult gravity orb if you stay close to him. So here I am wishing the second phase was harder while everyone else is complaining that he's too hard lmao. Still, fun boss. Engaging move-set.
He is not too hard, that is not why people don't like him. His moveset is just decent, with very few standouts other than the boar combo (and the intended dodge for the charge is very unintuitive), and his presentation is horrible. Not having his own OST + being introduced with the same level of respect as a field boss is not a good combo for a Remembrance. Also his lore sucks
Margit was already a highly complex boss even for the base game only matched by very few bosses like Morgott, radagon and Hoarah loux so comparing dlc bosses to Margit is a little unfair, although I still agree that a lot of the dlc bosses felt underwhelming in both moveset and presentation, looking more like mini boss before the main boss not a full fledged rememberance boss
@@zaynthemane probably because they wanted all players to go explore and grind, had they given him a simpler moveset, most souls vetrens would have beaten him without leveling up
@@purehollow I just wish Morgott was scaled appropriately as well. Most people reach him in the 100s and kill him in like 8 hits. Possibly the most intricate moveset they’ve made and it goes wasted on most players who just outstat him. A shame.
This I wholeheartedly agree with, especially in terms of presentation. Base game bosses, whether good or bad, truly feel like main bosses. I cant say the same for Commander Gaius, Schadustree Avatar, Pustrescent Knight, or even Rellana.
@@zaynthemanefr, on my first playthrough I was at level 70 I think so I didn't kill him too fast, and not only is his moveset not that easy to dodge, it's also one of if not the best in the whole game
FINALLY someone that rate midra for what he is, a formidable presentation for an average fight, my unpopular opion is that gaius is a more fun and challenging boss (but they really need to fix the charge to make him really click)
I have the same top 5 just in a different order 1. Messmer great in every way 2. Midra i love the horror and dread around this fight just wish he was a bit harder 3. Bayle best dragon boss in the series 4. Rellana great moveset phase 2 looks so cool 5. Radahn thought he was bs at first but he has really grown on me
For Mother of Finger’s laser, you can literally just stand in between the laser and the eruption to avoid it. I don’t think I ever got hit by it when I did that
genuinely don’t get the bayle hype. really enjoyed the spectacle but the fight is brutally annoying and has no flow with annoying aoes everywhere. no where close to midir.
I find the dichotomy between ur opinions of a lot of the DLC bosses and a lot others to be very interesting. Like many say the Putrescant Knight is too aggressive and attacks continuously and then there's you being a madman saying you wanted more🤣 In all seriousness, I appreciate a perspective that isn't just boss attacks a lot therefore bad, I've always appreciated how you actually engage with boss movesets and attempt to learn how they're supposed to be dealt with, it's something not many are able to replicate
Great vid. Messmer was also my favorite. Hot take but I wish Messmer was harder though, just a bit. I had an easy time with him, but other than that its a perfect fight in my opinion
Not a a hot take at all , I beat him in 9 tries and I said that's it? I thought he is gonna have 2 health bars and some crazy gimmick to his flames because they are named but is no different from the normal fire
On the topic of Midra I wanna mention that I love how they basically just made the king in yellow for their design, might feel unfitting for frenzied flame but it feels incredibly lordly if that at all makes sense.
He's the best boss in the dlc, everything about the fight is just awesome. Magicat just seems to like bosses that are complete spaz machines like Rellana and Radahn.
No Erdtree Avatar? What a disappointment 0/10 I want my refund. Seriously though great list. Mine is a bit different since as a casual player presentation, lore & spectacle matters to me more than actual boss moveset. Would love to see your ranking of all Elden Ring boss, including DLC next.
Swap Rellana and Midra, and Bayle and Radahn and you've got my list pretty much. Don't care for Rellana much, think her endless combos are kind of tiring after a while, and after beating her 4 times it's pretty 50/50 on if I'm going to get stuck on her for an age or I'll stomp in under 5 tries.
Solid list overall. In my opinion, I wouldn't put Radahn above the good tier. His intro is cool, the music is great and is not a bad fight per se, but I cant find enjoyment in the boss. His clones, as opposed to you, are mediocre looking and definetly not a good combat move. His meteorite atrack lacks impact existing the first Radahn fight. He is not impressive. Plus his lore is more dissapointing than anything. Midra is better than him. My opinion tho, the dlc was fire in general. Good work and looking forward fir more of your videos, they are pretty entertaining and even informative!
0:50 that combo IS new, actually! It's also an attack Bayle uses in his fight, right down to the same ability to jump behind you and perform a fire breath afterwards to catch the player off guard, which gives them a clear tie back to the main boss of the region and a hinto towards what the Dread Dragon will throw at you. ...still doesn't make the Jagged Peak Drakes particularly great fights, but it is a neat detail to note
Why does everyone hate drake fights so much?! I don’t get it, transferring from horseback to on foot combat is so fun and fluid and avoiding fire attacks whilst on torrent is the coolest thing. (Ancient dragons on the other hand…)
Great list. So happy to see the Rellana love. The absolute disrespect of having a lackluster dungeon and no cutscene... She deserves to be as legendary a figure in the community as Lady Maria and Melania. Messmer I think is the go to pick for best fight of the DLC, he's got it all. You're so right in his one move being a better waterfowl. His phase 2 cutscene is pretty reminiscent of Melania as well, and arguably has the coolest second phase ever. Also, so much respect for the praise of Radahn when he is controversial right now. I didn't like his light clone attack at all and it was a pretty disorienting and even obnoxious fight at times, but I could not help but be in awe of it, and that just all the more fed into the intense emotional experience I had fighting and eventually overcoming that boss. After I beat them, I put my character in the rest gesture and just looked out to the gate of divinity, listening to the wind as I composed myself and processed the experience, and I haven't done that since Gael. Plus, undeniably the best, most mesmerizingly beautiful, momentous soundtrack EVER imo. That second phase, man. It really did feel like I beat a full-fledged god at the height of power. What an experience.
I mostly agree with the Radahn placement, but I do wish he follow up the meteor with the other huge light AOE. I don't mind the meteor itself, especially considering how stressful the boss it, but if he does the meteor and the light aoe it's just a 30 second break from gameplay. His hair also feels too big sometimes, especially on his super combo. I'd personally have him at the very bottom of amazing tier, because at it's peak, it's probably the most fun I've had in a fs game, but it has a lot of very clear flaws.
I agree with Messmer and Rellana being the two best, they are top 5 Fromsoft bosses, imo. Midra would be third for me. Also, you are the only person I've seen that thought they didn't go hard enough, so many people crying about how aggressive and long boss combos are. If anything, I was astounded when bosses like Dancing Lion had three different elemental variations to his attacks and Rellana with her combo mix-ups. Idk, I feel like your take is based on unreasonable expectations or something. Oh, and Rellana did have a little build up if you were reading the item descriptions in Castle Ensis. I do agree that she deserved more though, she deserved the Lady Maria treatment and to be at the end of a huge Legacy Dungeon. Also, I thought the Lamenter boss was sort of cool in that it inverted the "find the real one" boss in that you needed to kill the clones to stop the curse so you wanted to avoid the real one (which would get covered in blood).
I'm at Radahn now and, like you, I pick Messmer as my favorite boss. Just the lore, the presentation and the mechanics all come together to create one of the best bosses FromSoft's ever done. Dude earned his spot as the DLC flagship character. Worst for me was Sessesax or however you spell it. After like 20 deaths, I just rode circles around him on Torrent and slapped him till he died. He was way too hard for all the wrong reasons. At least Bayle made up for it.
Great video! Missed opportunity to show lily when you said evolution while talking about Skibiditree avatar bc he comes back like belial.. other than that PEAK (Also what tier is Marigga?)
I was hyped for Messmer from the trailers and goddamn did he deliver. Fully agree that Messmer’s Assault is one of the most fun moves in the game to dodge, and his combos and openings all feel really fair. Best fight from either the DLC or base game for me, with the POSSIBLE exception of Mohg
Midra is a fine balance of fair while threatening you with a status that if proc'ed will more than likely get you killed. To make the fight more chaotic you'd have to introduce some randomly firing gimmicks that would get people more mad than impressed
Your feelings on Midra match mine. He could've been an S-tier fight if he had just a couple cooler moves or was maybe a little more wild. I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who felt that way.
i personally wish midra was more chaotic too. and by that i dont mean just having wild crazy attacks, but as it being constantly changing. like being able to switch between extreme agressiveness and extreme passiveness at intervals, with some attacks being as clean and methodic as those we have currently, and some being just insane as hell like the radahn clones, with multiple different combo varieties.
The bosses evolved but not the gameplay
Bro I SUPER recommend using pest threads or pest thread spears against furnace golems it staggers them really fast and makes the fight actually bearable

Midra being composed and slow just makes him scarier tbh
Agreed i like his elegant movements. I can feel a sense if confidence in his swings, he doesn't try to hit you as fast as possible because he doesn't need to. He is the lord of Frenzied Flame a threat of cosmic proportions . Also I love that when he uses his spells he always spread his arms wide open . Like ' witness the chaos' .
Agreed. So unnerving how this force of chaos moves so gracefully. I do wish he maybe had an insane 3rd phase at like 30% HP that took it to a new level. Still a top tier fight tho.
Its also nice for a change. Everyone feels the same with how fast their attacks are.
i think it's awesome. introduces a sense of almost alien weightlessness to his movements esp with the delays, as his body swirls around the orb of frenzied flame like a planet caught in some greater body's orbit to come and cut you down. brings a sort of strange elegance especially alongside the manor setting to the otherwise very disorganized frenzied flame in base game .
Chaos is just undiscovered order
I love how I genuinely believed gaius was gonna say enemy felled when I killed him and then he was just a wasted remembrance boss with no new ost
Literal waste of space lmao
To add onto that the lore we get from his remembrance just makes the timeline more confusing.
Messmer is so overrated. Malenia, Gael, Friede, Isshin are all better
@@yourveryownlocalmoron6874 About damn time considering Gael, while excellent, wasnt even the best boss at the time he came out. And Elden Ring base game has like 5 bosses that surpass him.

18:25 personally I think Midra's move-set suits him very well. He's like a dancing flame
I think thats the point. He's confident now that he's embraced his status as the lord. Opening his arms wide as flames burst out of his head and going slowly and methodically with his attacks as if he's not even bothered by you. It was nice for a change.
I love how he opens his arms to you as if he’s saying ‘come, embrace chaos’

Mesmer OST made me ascend
That final 1 minute in phase 2 is a perfect summation of his whole story. Absolutely heartbreaking yet epic.
I feel like Radahn wasn't challenging enough, he could definitely use some tweaks to make him feel like the true final boss for the game, like right off the top of my head for example:
1- miquella should steal your heart from the first grab, bad dodgers shall not be given a second chance
2- the clones shouldn't just stun you and do like 15 damage, it should be 300 per clone minimum
3- Malenia's life steal for every attack
4- replace the stunlocking holy beams with malekith's destined death flames
5- that nuke he does at around 30-40% hp should have perfect tracking and he should land on you wherever you are, and only giving you a 1 frame window to dodge it, and if you miraculously do, there should be a lingering destined death flames covering up the entire arena for at least 5 seconds so that if you weren't good enough to kill him before he nukes, you didn't even deserve to live
😂
man doesn't even meatride fromsoft at this point, he literally jerks off to Elden Ring every day...
Is that a joke?

Please tell me you’re trolling, I legit can’t tell

Best DLC for me, and I agree with your takes on the bosses. ❤️🎉
The Jagged Peak Drakes are not just only slightly altered dragons from the base game, they are full of jank too. The first one especially will routinely get stuck on cliffs, and his fire will often turn invisible in the arena. I kept getting hit by invisible flames.
midra is top 3 for me, such a cool ass boss and his attacks not being chaotic and rather slow and indifferent makes him scarier tbh

His first phase is great minus the cross slash, second phase is messy. Its not fundamentally broken though. Slow down the cross slash, tone down the visuals a bit, and reduce the AOE spam slightly and you have an amazing boss.

Romina felt like a great Dark Souls 3 boss, and honestly, that’s exactly what I wanted so I loved it.
Yeah, I totally agree, takes in the community about the design of the world has been all over the place.
Really good video, I can tell you’re very experienced with the series based on your critiques unlike some other boss rankings i’ve seen.
Awesome video. Pretty much agree with all the choices here and all the points that were brought up against or in favor of the bosses were understandable and reasonable. Hope this video takes off man cause you deserve it, keep up the good work brother.
I think Midra moves the way he does simply because at least to him this moment is pure bliss, he's spent the better part of god knows how long enduring the pull of the frenzied flame along with the agony of that sword digging into every part of his body and now because of us pushing him over the edge those pain's are gone, his body is free, his mind one with the frenzy, he has gone from weakness to strength and moves like a man finally in control, I mean just look at the way he glides through the air or swaggers with elated confidence shooting frenzy at you and tell me he doesn't look like he's feeling anything other's than bliss
It's pretty much like being blind for 20 years and then suddenly being able to see.
Goated tier list mine is kinda same too,
1-Messmer
2-Rellana
3-Midra
4 and 5 Bayle and Radahn can’t decide
6- Putrescent
7- SkibidiTree
8-Divine Beast
9-“Sad… Forever ?”
10-Romina
11-Gaius
12- Metyr
But all these 12 are at least good fights maybe except metyr and gaius
Agreed on placing Metyr at the bottom, from the main bosses, i'd say it deserves the bad tier. Gaius is uninspired, but atleast he has a flow to his combat (his charge is still terrible). Metyr is all spectacle with absolutely horrendous gameplay attached to it.
Why is Romina that low? She's kinda too easy but her design and moveset is amazing and she has the best telegraphs in all of FromSoftware games. There's no bullshit except for one attack in phase 2 that doesn't change anything until you're playing at RL1
@@EasyMoney_SniperR she is a good bossfight, I just like the others more. Also romina's OST is top 5 in the game
@@EasyMoney_SniperR Her hitboxes are dogshit
@@theholypopechodeii4367 Hitboxes of which attacks?
Let's go, I've beat the DLC in like a week and I waited for the video since, but the video is finally here. Keep up the great work!
14:12 this is peak analysis you can't find anywhere else
btw I will say, watching your boss footage has made me realize I ought to trial and error jump dodges more often, my jaw was dropping at the Rellana fight when you were hopping over half her attacks.
Messmer is close to boss perfection imo. He i perfectly balanced. Messmer deserved 2 health bars. One for phase 1, and 1 for phase 2, which is imo the only negative thing about that fight. The more I fight him, the more I love that boss. And now he is in my top 5 favorite Souls boss fights of all time
I wish I could just lower my scadu level when I enter his boss room
what’s funny is that i could name a like 5 bosses from ds3 that are better
I thought the same about Midra. They should’ve gave him a huge attack as a phase 3. Doesn’t have to be hard, just cinematic. Like the flaming ceiling raining down on the player, really empathizing that only this small wooden mansion is keeping this god from destroying the world. I was so disappointed when I realized there isn’t a phase 3, even tho he entered phase to at around 2/3 HP.
garbage take midra is top 4 bosses in the game
another horrible er fan take
Messmer by far in my top 5 best FS bosses ❤ he will stay there for long in his sweet spot along with ludwig and gael.
Gotta say man, I'm glad you decided to start talking in your videos. Your voice is very soothing.
Jori was actually going to be a remembrance boss. The art for his remembrance still exists, and he has his own OST with a unique boss room that doesn't look like it belongs in catacombs. They probably changed him down the line and made Gaius a remembrance boss instead.
So the final dlc boss is radahn again
He's donning the same armor again
He's using the same swords and the same gravity magic again
He has pretty much the same ost in phase 1 again
He's using the same animation from the story trailer in his introduction again
His moveset is a bunch of repurposed assets from multiple other bosse like the original radahn, mohg, Godfrey, gaius, artorias and Pontiff sulyvahn
His only original moves are the double cross move (broken) the after image attacks (looks unfinished) the new rock throw which is the only decent attack in the fight (only to be ruined in phase 2) and the grab which is whatever
He has almost no combo variations, the visual clarity is messy with the particle effects and miquella's hair obscuring alot of his moves, the stunlock in phase 2 is outrageous and the fight offers pretty much nothing unique or original compared to other fights in the same dlc
This fight is abysmal, it's not only too familiar to something we already know but feels rushed and put together last minute, like you said modded and fanfictiony which is why it blows my mind to see you put it so high
The biggest issue I have with the DLC is how many weapons should have had a unique moveset but didn't. The Death Knight Twinaxes especially.
Though I can't be mad, given we got 8 new weapon types and even some of those had unique movesets among themselves. So it balances out in their favor still.
A typical fromsoft reward lol 😂
SOET is easily the best fromsoft dlc, followed by ds3 then bb and ds1.
Agree. No other DLC has this much content and this many crazy bosses.
it’s SOTE actually
Radahn is actually somewhat similar to Gwyn where you can parry a majority of his attacks including the BS combo.
Mesmer might just be my favorite from soft boss oat, the fight along with the lore, and those trailers👀 mesmer just had such an insane buildup and he 100% delivered.
er glaze+recency bias
Messmer is just what Malenia should've been.
uhmmm no that would make malenia way easier
No, Malenia is perfect the way she is
I don't like Malenia as a boss at all.
@@trobitman get gud atp
@@trobitman This game is about learning how to dodge bosses attacks lmao. Just git gud, the boss was supposed to be hard and they did a great job at that. Life steal mechanic is very good as well, without it she would be much easier and Messmer is just too easy, he couldn't be a Malenia 2.0, don't get me wrong, he is my favorite boss in the game now, but he's too easy, I was expecting 2nd health bar.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR VIDEO
AND IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR COMMENT
I was expecting ur video my boy!
There must be something to him and Gaius having the two most unfair attacks in the game. Gravity magic glues their hitboxes to you, I suppose.
Raking every boss, including the DLC for me is the best video to go next
You were my last hope, magicat, but it seems i will forever be the only person that loves gaius(still great vid)
Dw bro I'm a Commander Gains fan too. A tier boss IMO.
@@anonymousperson8903 completely agree, very overhated boss
I like Gaius... He's one I could also see my opinion improving a lot upon after really digging into his moveset.
They did Rellana dirty by not giving her at leat cutscene😥
No fuckin way, my Igon meme made it into the video! Fuck yeah!
Yeah they went fucking crazy for Margit. He’s more complex than like 99% of FS bosses and probably top 5 most complex in ER.
NOOOOOO THE LAMENTER IS LAMENT-TIER, BEST BOSS SINCE PINWHEEL!!!
FINALLY someone that rate midra for what he is, a formidable presentation for an average fight, my unpopular opion is that gaius is a more fun and challenging boss (but they really need to fix the charge to make him really click)
Fully agree, he was kinda basic.
Like he was a cool fight but also really simple.
And yeah Gaius was pretty fire actually he has a sick moveset.
Y'all overtuned combos junkies
Loved this video, thanks for this.
As Felix biederman put it, "messmer was left in a hot car"
The likitung move is that ash of war fromsoftware made then immediately was like oh no we CANNOT give this one to the player base 😂
I pretty much agree with all of your points on messmer lol, he doesn’t do anything the best but pretty much every single aspect of him is amazing
I have the same top 5 just in a different order
1. Messmer great in every way
2. Midra i love the horror and dread around this fight just wish he was a bit harder
3. Bayle best dragon boss in the series
4. Rellana great moveset phase 2 looks so cool
5. Radahn thought he was bs at first but he has really grown on me
For Mother of Finger’s laser, you can literally just stand in between the laser and the eruption to avoid it. I don’t think I ever got hit by it when I did that
That only works for the second rotation, not first
bayle and putrescent knight had me literally fuming
genuinely don’t get the bayle hype. really enjoyed the spectacle but the fight is brutally annoying and has no flow with annoying aoes everywhere. no where close to midir.
For metyr, The reason the music leaves is because the second phase sound is the first audio we discovered from a black hole
I find the dichotomy between ur opinions of a lot of the DLC bosses and a lot others to be very interesting. Like many say the Putrescant Knight is too aggressive and attacks continuously and then there's you being a madman saying you wanted more🤣
In all seriousness, I appreciate a perspective that isn't just boss attacks a lot therefore bad, I've always appreciated how you actually engage with boss movesets and attempt to learn how they're supposed to be dealt with, it's something not many are able to replicate
Great vid. Messmer was also my favorite. Hot take but I wish Messmer was harder though, just a bit. I had an easy time with him, but other than that its a perfect fight in my opinion
Same
Not a a hot take at all , I beat him in 9 tries and I said that's it? I thought he is gonna have 2 health bars and some crazy gimmick to his flames because they are named but is no different from the normal fire
They should have given him 2 healthbars.
Bro why y’all so good 😂 he took me like 5 hours
On the topic of Midra I wanna mention that I love how they basically just made the king in yellow for their design, might feel unfitting for frenzied flame but it feels incredibly lordly if that at all makes sense.
Good list, made me sad to see my fav Midra not higher tho
He's the best boss in the dlc, everything about the fight is just awesome. Magicat just seems to like bosses that are complete spaz machines like Rellana and Radahn.
@@arsenicsulfide7549fr
15:01 i gotta start saying that
No Erdtree Avatar?
I wish Midra had more hp, or maybe I should have used a weaker weapon lol
A souls-game ranking would be awesome. You could even include some souls-likes like Lies of P, Wo Long, and so on. Great video btw
I genuinely love how epic the bayle fight is! He may not have the best moves but holy shit is the presentation unmatched
Messmer is definitely my favorite boss in the dlc, lore wise and fight wise
hippo top 1 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Love it
Ah, no
unironically putting the leda gank squad at anything better than rank 25 is wild
FINALLY, someone appreciates Rellana as one of the best bosses of this DLC. Earned a sub just for that ahhahah. Great video!
I feel like this is the only souls game where I prefer the base game bosses over the dlc bosses
I still think Messmer is the GOAT
I'm at Radahn now and, like you, I pick Messmer as my favorite boss. Just the lore, the presentation and the mechanics all come together to create one of the best bosses FromSoft's ever done. Dude earned his spot as the DLC flagship character.
Worst for me was Sessesax or however you spell it. After like 20 deaths, I just rode circles around him on Torrent and slapped him till he died. He was way too hard for all the wrong reasons. At least Bayle made up for it.
Great video!
Missed opportunity to show lily when you said evolution while talking about Skibiditree avatar bc he comes back like belial.. other than that PEAK
(Also what tier is Marigga?)
Why would i ever want to show lily again
@@magicat7356 EVOLUTION!!
