I appreciate you turning down things to review and sell us on things you use for only a week. Most of youtube is just that and it completely blows.
Yeah I’m not a fan of that. I don’t even care if it’s paid but at least use it for awhile.
Much love bro! Was great chatting 💪🏼
I appreciate the candidness and honesty about not promoting products you don't use.
I've been using Zhiyun for like 3 gimbals (The only reason why I upgrade is because I keep buying bigger cameras and need to heavy your payload.)
I have become a big fan of what SmallRig is doing with their 450BiColor.
I have an aperture 600, 300, multiple 200s and a few of the Smallrig lights, and now I pretty much always just grab the 450Bi all the time.
They do have a ballast, but they are super powerful and Pack down into a case that's equivalent to about the 300 D Mark II case from Aputure.
That said I did pick up the f22x and f21x to play around with.
I’ve been hearing more a pout that smallrig light. That’s great to hear it has a smaller case, makes a big difference.
And I was a Zhiyun guy up until recently. Love their prices and value.
Love following along on your journey David. Thank you for including us!
Thank for being on board 🏴☠️
I wish I was still in Florida! Use to do some work over there. I gotta setup one for the Bay Area in the California
You totally should. I received a ton of feedback that the sf area wanted a meetup.
A *Raspberry Pi NAS* might solve your data upload problems for pretty cheap - and it would also keep all your data transactions in-house, which looks super-professional to clients. It's also just a one-time-fee, and pretty easy to set up in just a few hours. The NAS also eliminates the overhead of Dropbox administration in general, and your "client uploads" would only take moments instead of all day. Kind of a triple win! All you need is a home router and a hard drive. Thx David. 🚀
I have no clue what you said so I need to do some research.
Dream gig!!! hopefully one day I can film professional golfers!!! So sick you got to film legends
Yeah I think this gig was wasted on me. I don’t know who any of them are.
I’m excited
Should be fun 😉 Lots of people to connect with.
For the cart, you should take a look at a Rock n Roller cart with the LaVa cart addistions. The carts roll up easy, they're the foam filled soft tires, and the set up doesn't take too long. All in you will be at a lower price than most other cars in the same categories. PLus there's lots of holes that you can use to custoimize the cart to your needs. I attatched a clamp on mine to hold 3x2 flags and added a second shelf in the middle. Worth checking out at the very least
Oh yeah I see those every where and gave them a good bit of research. In the end, I need something that can fold of smaller. I have a tiny car. And I wanted something a bit more study. Can beat the price on those things though. Love the foam tires. Everyone should have that.
@@davidmorefield my cart is just big enough to fit it horizontally across my rear seat, and then I stack my cases on top of it. I think it could fit but completely understand though
@@airickthe37th I only have two doors and it’s not fitting in the front seat 😁
Trunk ain’t the biggest either. I have a unique case haha
That course idea is great man. You can definitely provide lots of value for $100. Your freelance life and your approach is unique and I’m sure people are curious how you make that work. Plenty of value on your vlogs but you can go much deeper into the behind the scenes of how you make it all work.
Also note on the cart, I think reliability for that is super worth it man. Also you will look super legit on set as long as it fits in your car.
@@doseofdan1348 yeah fitting in my tiny car and speed of operation are two huge factors for me. I ordered it so I’ll see how it goes.
And thanks for the reassurance. I think I could give that unique insight you’re mentioning. I mean, I currently give it away in the 1 on 1 consultation calls but I could package it and structure it really nicely in a course.
@@davidmorefield can’t wait to hear about the cart.
100% man! You got this.
The golf gig seems fun. I was photographing the RSM a couple weeks ago, and I saw a guy with an fx6 on an easy rig. Looks awesome for following players around all day.
I’ve never used one but I see them everywhere. I would like to try the ergo rig too. It’s basically a metal shoulder.
Great information in this Vlog Brodie your growth on this platform is crazy
I honestly think it has a lot to do with my sharing approach rather than teaching approach. Kind of let the actions speak for themselves which builds a stronger connection with the viewer.
Patience and persistence of a skateboarder 👊
And the bad cardio of a skater 🥲
The Adicam is amazing. One of the best things I've ever spent money on production-wise.
Love to hear that. Which model did you get?
@@davidmorefield the standard made most sense to me.
@@ovidiu.gramesc I picked up the mini. It’s actually bigger than my current cart. We’ll see if I made the right choice.
Love this vlog. Cool to see bits and pieces of your jobs. Sometimes it’s hard to make use of the content when it’s not enough to be its own full video!
Wish I could make this meet up, Christmas and Black Friday got my wallet hurting! Haha
Yeah I actually really like this recap style. It doesn’t require me to have to film so much and I can show more things in one vlog. I need to switch up my vlog approach to keep it fresh so I might try this style for a bit.
@@davidmorefieldyeah I like it. It’s the approach I’ve started taking too for something’s. It’s hard sometimes to film enough of one event to make a whole video.
Plus, I think it’s a little interesting to have a little storyline for something else during the video. Either a story that doesn’t have an answer until maybe another vlog or just something I find quickly interesting.
@@lensofjared agreed. And it’s nice to keep the video moving instead of the same video: start the day, shoot, wrap… end video.
Keeps the viewer engaged.
🤣love the food idea. That would be awesome.
We appreciate how much you share, however you seem to have the "I think I can mentality." You're already doing it. You're in the middle of your growth right now. Accept that fact.
100K is peanuts! Think 1 - 2 Million. Think huge!
I'm not saying get cocky and arrogant but others look up to you because you've pushed past that fear factor and maybe you don't realize it.
It's not just pointing and shooting a camera, you're a folk hero of sorts now. It's great you're humble but 100K isn't gonna get you much personally. Some projects alone can run 100K.
You a playa now! You've stepped into the arena. Ain't no goin back. Now it's time to get paid!💲💲💲
Always gotta have that climbing mentality. 👏🏻
I’ve thought the same for a LED panel without a ballast. Which one are you considering? I’m just always scared to use small light sources vs larger more flattering soft light options with bowens.
Already bought it! It should be here by Monday and of course I’ll share my experience other it. It’s $300 off rn. And look at the specs, 20k lux at 3 ft!

Really interested to see how this purchase goes. I'm interested in grabbing the Nanlite FC-300B and FC500B as a cheap but powerful starting setup but worried they're only wall powered! The jump in price for v-mount options along with having to stock and charge v-mounts isn't really a great option atm for me.@@davidmorefield
@@Ryan-Payne yeah v mounts are expensive and I would try to always use wall power but it is nice to break out of those limits when requested. Sometimes there just isn’t any ac power available.
Zhyune has lights that could work for your style right?
I know a buddy that uses them. Not sure if they would exactly fit what I need. Would want to try them first.
I want to get a FX6 Do u know a good business and wht price should I be paying nowadays
BH is reliable. They mostly sell new items. If you go on the used market it’ll be a bit over $5k.
How could an equipment cart possibly be worth $3-4K? You can buy 20 horsepower riding mowers for half that amount. Companies sure like to soak us filmmakers, don't they?
They were fist to market with a product that solved a specific problem. I get it. That’s good business. But now other companies are making similar models and leveling the playing field. There’s definitely a customer for both.
@@davidmorefield Unless they have some amazing patent that I can't imagine, others will enter the space and drive the price down. I can't imagine a well-constructed cart with great wheels costing more than $500 to make. I suspect the bigger issue is volume. There are only so many you can sell. Most filmmakers just need the one.
@@scotey I doubt there’s a patent. $500 would be great. Hopefully soon.
Enzian 🤌🏼
It was the top of my 1 venue list. 😂 So glad it’s secured.
