I thoroughly enjoyed this whole video! Thank you for including on-screen screenshots of what you were talking about. I am running out of space in my 1510 for how many fun toys I want to bring with me. I really need to get that top lid organizer before I look at anything else. I also really appreciate you talking about how you've changed expo markers - I am currently using these refillable ones form Pilot but I haven't had a lot of experience with different ones. I am very jealous of your filter tags. I'm curious if you use a label maker like P-touch cube at all. Thank you for the insights, and greetings from Buffalo, NY!

      Really appreciate the feedback! 😊
Highly recommend getting a lid organsier, you'll love it. I use a Brother P-touch Label Maker PT-D210, it's not fancy like the Cube but it's leftover from my days as a 2nd AC so it still does the job.

Thanks for the video! A gaffer that I love working with always carries a little electric fan around and is therefore immediately friends with everyone on hot summer shooting days. Definitely need to get something like that or what you showed!
Also I love your focus on helping your team out everywhere you can and trying to make everybody feel comfortable. Very inspiring and reassuring for someone like me just starting out and trying to figure out priorities on set. Sometimes for me it's not so easy to really focus on the technical side of the job and also maintain a relaxed and positive atmosphere when things get hectic. Then I question myself if I should've picked up the pace, maybe at the expense of that atmosphere. I guess there's a balance to be found...

Thanks for the super lovely feedback! 😊
You're spot on it is a balance of both and a tricky one at that. Technically the priority is getting the job done in a professional workplace, but we also work very intimately and intensely - so if the people aren't happy then the work won't get done.
It took Me a long time to achieve confidence to shift from one to the other, or juggle both at once. I too used to be all serious and harsh on Myself, but bit-by-bit figured out when it was appropriate to be social or still do the job but with a relaxed vibe.
Keep doing those end of day self-assessments to see how you could be better on the next shoot day, but try not to be too hard on yourself. A positive attitude doesn't take up space in your tool bag but in time will prove to be worth more than money 🙏🏻
