Nice think they would have made the motor hole alittle bigger and easier to put different size cans in it knowing people are gonna wanna upgrade it to brushless.....
Arrma are killing it with these new 2wd trucks based off of the Gorgon plarform. Easiest way to fit the body on & see what you are doing re lining body pins up & sliding the body retainer clip over, is to sit the body on its roof then lower the chassis onto the upturned body. Everything lines up so easy when you can see what you are doing upside down.
I'm glad to see they're expanding on the Gorgon chassis design. The Gorgon is probably the cheapest car I own, but my most driven basher once I took it 3s. Tons of fun to be had with these chassis'.
Just buy a generic 40mm fan online or at your local computer store for less than $5. There aren't too many makers of the actual fans. RC companies just rebrand and some of the fancier ones are just installed in a mainly cosmetic aluminum case. Even for the expensive RC fans, the blades are still plastic (again with the rebranding) and it's the blades that break. The only caveat is you need to pay attention and read the specs for operating voltage, RPM and the connector.
I have just about everything that arrma makes..and I just got this… and I agree with you this is a vast improvement over my arrma granite 2x4 .. the way it drives is much more balanced 50/50 someone at arrma did some good engineering! Good job arrma
My next purchase for when my grandkids show up and want an RC to play with. I'm not handing a 6 year old one of my $500 rigs. This looks perfect for the little ones without trigger control yet. TY for making my decision easy. 👍
Is the body made of cheese like the Gorgon? Love my Gorgon but that body started cracking on my first rollover in grass. Ive since "upgraded" it to a cardboard box body.
I've heard that for a basher like this, it would be ideal if the chassis slapped the ground before the shocks bottom since shock towers are a weak area... thoughts? this reminds me of the gorgon... is it same platform basically with just a diff body?
For some heavy rigs with weaker shocks and towers, ground slapping can take the shock for less damage. I don't like it though as it sounds awful and abuses the chassis. For this light vehicle and big shocks, i think it's all good without chassis slap. Yes this is the same as the Gorgon and the new Fury. Shared chassis and I'll compare them all soon.
I haven't seen a single one of you rc youtubers give any of the Srrma Series 2wd new vehicles anything negative, with the only one being the Gorgon weak body which is prone to crack easily.
True UA-camrs are a little too excited positive. If you watched my video, I said the negatives were: - 2-in-1 receiver esc is bad for options and upgrades - 2s max battery is very bad - motor has no ventilation and can get very hot - hard to fit a 540 brushless motor - rear tires need more grip and those NIMH batteries need to go!
Uuuuuuummmmm 🤔 Gee, Calling this a vorteks isn't confusing AT ALL. They already have a vorteks (2wd and 4wd) same as the granite. How about name it something else and not just use a preexisting body. I'm actually a huge arrma fan... But this lineup does nothing for me.

Much appreciated @tacklefinlures!

Yes I agree. This is a big oversight.
There are older gen surpass hobby 3650 and 3660 that have the cables coming out the back. Plan ahead or dremmel it out. Its not that huge deal.

So true. A lot of innovation happening on every release of this chassis.
This is by far my favorite R/C channel❤.
My go to before buying any rc.
Much appreciated

I’m thinking about getting the new Vortex in a few months I think it’s a pretty cool looking truck.

Thanks for another great review and letting me know about the 540 motor spacer
Yessssssir!

Yeah, it is balanced and dialed with sound engineering.
Love my arrma gorgon driving balance, look similar to it, with lower suspension , wheels, body profile car
Gorgon is the king of this family

exactly. Tune it down to and let them learn at 50% throttle.
@@RCReviewChannel will do. Thank you for the review. 👍

A 3660 brushless motor fits perfectly.
Right on, great to know!!! Might be too much power for this light rig but can always tune down.
@@RCReviewChannel I put my infraction 3s system in it. Honestly, runs like a dream on both 2s and 3s. 3s getting 55mph. Great fun
What KV would be best for the Vorteks in a 3660 can?
Great review.
thank you sir.
i hope they release a blx version of these
No doubt, they need to!
Can you suggest under $250 best 2 rc cars
In your opinion between the Vortex and the Fury, witch is the better bang for your buck?
I think the best is the Gorgon!!! Fury is a close second.

I would love to have one of them the nice
It’s a gem!
ok....about that motor spacer ...arn't your motorshaft be too short to install the pinion?
There is a nimimum motor shaft length required for this application and it's on the Hot Racing product page.
@@RCReviewChannelthank you
Good rtr for the kids.

Everyone going brushless. Chucking a 3s in there seems plenty enough to make it go.
Exactly. Many folks have a brushed 3s esc in the parts bin already.

That 2 in 1 esc is garbage. I’ve had 3 fail finally upgraded to brushless.
