I think Arrma and Traxxas built too many brushed motors in 1987, and it would cost too much money to throw them all in the dump, so with brushed vehicles, the customer now is the one who gets to throw them in the trash. 😮
I think they would be awesome for a box stock class if your local track has that class. Same with the new fury. otherwise for street bashing, brushless swap and rip it. Nice video as usual man.
Tks.. yea I am not sure if they will do a class but a Brushless class would be good. These may Compete on a club level at a local track. I am sure you will see these soon on tracks!
I recently returned to the RC car hobby, I recently purchased a Traxxas Rustler BL-2s 2wd, how would you say that this compares in handling and speed/acceleration? I'm more concerned about handling and durability than speed, upgrading to brushless should be straightforward.
Was going to purchase this Vortex, then I was made aware of the Legendary Thunder on Amazon. Under $125, brushless, 4wd, lipo battery included. Could not pass up that deal, so far I like the car.
I’m gonna get the new Arrma vortex unfortunately it’ll be my last newest car for a while but I finally got my Arrma grom Typhon finally I did a review and unboxing video for that so I’ve been liking what Arrmas doing just don’t agree on the Furry though I think they went backwards on it. Should’ve done that with the boost series.
@@RC-Closer1313 it’s a beginner truck. My kids are 6 and 10 and both just got into RC cars. There’s no way I’m setting them lose with a $300 plus brushless system that runs 50+. I’m glad they still make these type of systems so my kids can have fun and learn the hobby instead of breaking stuff left and right.
@ yeah, they make a bunch of kid friendly RC’s.. I’m glad because I’m with you on the whole $300 for kids to destroy in minutes. Just for me personally I can stand the slow stuff. I have six children, so I have most definitely went through this scenario several times
@ this particular vorteks and the senton boost are almost indestructible for a kid. My boy has beat his senton to death for 2 years now and only broken a bumper.
That's kind of a hard Choice. the slash has been around for so long and has such a great part support that'd it be kind of hard to pass up for a young kid. And you can do so much with it as well! This one's pretty new and limited on the modifications you can do.
It’s not more reliable. I know people who have rustlers and break stuff quite frequently. This thing is almost indestructible. I think the shocks and steering servo are a little lacking though.
What’s the biggest pinion u think will fit on that brushed motor. Shit we all remember the wl toys lil car with the 550 with a big ass pinion gear and that thing jammed. People getting like 60 mph stock with big ass pinions. Lol
Not trash. Just needs a brushless system. These are some of the toughest trucks ever out of the box. People have run the Gorgon on 4S and 6S with little to no issue. These are the same thing, just LCG. Arrma will likely make a 3S brushless 50mph version of these in the future. Just because it looks toy grade doesn't mean it's junk. Most reliable truck in my fleet
@@K5_RC I have a Gorgon and I broke it the second time using it, don’t belive the videos lol. I stopped the spur gear and landed a jump and broke the chassis. The plastic Arrma uses for these cars are absolutely trash it’s recycled plastic keep your Gorgon brushed
@Jesse-x5y The reason you stripped your spur: mesh moved. The Fury and Vorteks use a fixed mount plate to prevent that. And I don't believe you broke the chassis on a jump. I would need to see that to believe it. I have seen and heard NOTHING about a broken Gorgon chassis ever (and all I do in my spare time is research RCs if I'm not messing with them myself). So I believe you're full of shit trying to make a false point. Who do I believe? I can't believe Brushed is still a thing in 2024!

😅😅😅@@Boogie_the_cat
@@Boogie_the_catIt's all about keeping the cost down, but a brushless version from the factory would be a great option.
@@morganyates6598 It keeps the cost down so they get more entry level customers.
It’s not great for people that have been in it a long time, but for beginners just starting out a brushed truck is a great starting point.
Yes I like getting brushed vehicles turning them into brushless saves you money plus you can do your own twist to it. Go big motor
Seems like another budget entry winner from Arrma. Nice lcg chassis 👌
yep

Thinking of getting this new Vorteks & the Fury, great prices from Arrma on these 2wd's.

This car is ridiculously durable in ever aspect. It's similar to the gorgon chassis, actually the same I think just lower base

Honestly I think the 3s blx system will work perfect in those cars.
Love your reviews .👍
I appreciate that!

I installed the motor and ESC out of my 4s Machete. Perfect fit, and stupid fast.
😮
I really like the look of them for the price is a good deal seem tough too....
To slow bro… wow. I just get frustrated when they are that slow. I’m sure it’ll be twice the fun brushless.. in my opinion

Those Jato wheels look awesome on the vortek !
🙃🙂
Question. Would you buy this or a 2wd brushed slash for a 12 year olds first rc? Thank you for the awesome video!

@@JayTeeRC Thank you for the quick response. I will get her the slash. Just need to decide now if it will be the 2wd or 4wd.
I'd rather spend the extra 50 on a rustler 2wd. It's just a better and more reliable model.
It’s not more reliable. I know people who have rustlers and break stuff quite frequently. This thing is almost indestructible. I think the shocks and steering servo are a little lacking though.
@JGib0413 the rustler is pretty indestructible there's a reason it's been around forever.
Just bought this today, already wanna upgrade it, unsure of how to tho, any advice would be appreciated im ready to spemd the money on it
trying to go faster?
@JayTeeRC yea def faster, can I upgrade to steel suspension parts too for this?
Good lookin truck. Yes brushless.
bet
28 isn’t terrible for an entry level brushed truck.
Yea I think.its about 23 or so. I upgraded the pinion so it gave it more speed
Is it possible to put the mega vorteks body on a vorteks boost?
Nice video! Like button SMASHED!
Ty!
For a truck like this, a brushless motor is better. Nice bashing.
Thanks

Ngl I wanna buy one just for the tools lol
The 3200 has more start up, 3900 is fast. I put 4s to a 3200 550 it's got 1/10 scale power
I'm surprised they don't put AVC in these two-wheel drive cars
Too expensive. Their DX3 would be the cheapest system with AVC and those are $100 by themselves. Those little SLT2s are only like $25
Check out jennysrc.com
Nice bro 👍
Thanks
What gets me is the fact these things are the same price as the groms, the math ain't mathing 😂 not dogging on them love my arrma cars it's just odd
🤔....🤷🏾♂️👍🏾
All RCs, 1/10 scale and above should be brushless, period!
Someday they will get there
And I believe it’s 4x4
Nope. 2wd.
For off road....slap on the senton tires....trust me
I will try it
Who’s tiressssseettt
