    I’m a little over 4 months into my work experience being an orderfiller and I’ve gotten it down to where I can walk, pulling 130%. Constant repetition is key when working in these areas. Having good stacks and learning to build good pallets is also important to getting quicker. Other than having good stacks, working ahead was also something that helped me. Reading your next set of check digits and so forth down the line was how I separated myself from everyone else, became quick and in the end, boosted my performance. Its the one important tip i preach a lot about to new comers when wanting to get good at this. A constant motion, pick by pick, and in time you’ll be pulling fast.

    This is alittle incentive for rest of you guys out there. Atleast this is how it is at my dc.
    110% = $2.20 extra an hr
    120% = $4.40 extra an hr
    130% = $6.60 extra an hr
    140% = $8.80 extra an hr
    150% = $11.00 extra an hr.
    For a 10 hr shift, you can make anywhere from $22-$110 for the day. That's great motivation

    I'm 5 weeks in and I appreciate the faster selectors, of course not all are as helpful but they're the ones taking on more of the workload and making sure those who like to go home earlier can.

    I'm so glad my warehouse allows us to break when we want. I either take a break before I know I'm gonna get stuck in congestion or I lunch late so I can get more freezer orders. Our freezer is only 5 isles. We also can utilize it as a way to get time back cause they give us 2 15min breaks and 30 min lunch but on some days we get close to finish in 7 hours. I know that's frowned upon by the majority of companies but man is it good being in a warehouse that you don't have be micro managed about small shit. I'm allowed to blast music on bluetooth speaker. Nothin like good music and an empty isle to smash.

    It's normal sometimes for guys at our DC to say they can walk a 120, because some of them are fast yeah, but also I think because they have a lot of slots memorized, and a lot of them been doing it for so long they're just familiar with the aisles, the cases, they know how to stack it etc. Like me, I know how to stack my juice/diary orders and I stack them the same way every time.

    So at my warehouse. 105 is incentive for the week if you average that every hour your up is double pay. Last week I finished with a 115. And I pulled 9.76 hours up at 39.34 an hour which added a basically free 385 bucks on top of my 40 hours and 15 hours of overtime. I’ve only been doing this since Halloween and my goal is to average 120 for the first 2 months of 2023 then by the end try to be close to 145-155

    I’d like to add another motivating reason for selectors to hit 120% is bragging rights. Maaaan, some guys will head over to the computer for their rate just to leave it up and walk away. Another thing, once you start running you start to notice people all of a sudden picking faster to flex on you so you’ll want to make sure you smoke em.

      Screw the bragging rights. I'm about that paper 💵. 120%= $4.60 extra an hr. That means $30 a day. We max at 150%= $11 extra per hr. We have a couple of guys that make $300 a week just in incentives

    Good video tim, what i can sais if selectors can view their performance at the end of the day it should give a breakdown of how many cph they did. 2100 cases in a 7 hour shift I was picking at 300 cph. And it netted me a 125%. Do the math it is not only physical work.

  • @destructo870
    @destructo870 2 роки тому +2

    I'm getting close but it's damn hard at my place. Honestly it depends on the types of orders I get. On certain days we get more bulk and possibly a pull under pallet. On other days we get a bunch of wingstop orders resulting in everyone needing the same damn slot for the entire pick path with very narrow isles. Also the wingstop order is usually 70 cube pallets for a and b but they only give us 30minutes cause there is not alot of stops. Only way I can do it in 30 is if it's all empty isles but it's usually a cluster fuck of 4 of us at the same spot.

      @@TheWarehouseSeries Well im about to hit 4 months so I'm sure there's still plenty to learn. There's one guy that consistently does a 120% and I watch what he does. What does 100% look like in case count for your warehouse? I got 109% last week with 7200 cases but I'm in the freezer so we get more cases than dry or even cooler. Also only had 1 mispick 😈

  • @nickuppal2548
    @nickuppal2548 2 роки тому +1

    Companies should look for performance base on cases per week or per month than per hour. Cases per hour measures speed, but it does not measure endurance. Cases per week or month will measure endurance. Eg. People pick 75% for 5 days a week will outperform in case count than people who pick 100% for 2 days a week in the long run ( a year)

    • @destructo870
      @destructo870 2 роки тому +1

      My warehouse usually breaks things down on a weekly basis. The case count isn't the best metric though because dry/cooler/freezer all have different pulls. Big dry orders average about 100 cases, cooler probably 150ish n freezer sometimes over 200.

    • @nickuppal2548
      @nickuppal2548 2 роки тому

      @@destructo870 I think that they should reduce the standard from 100% for people who select 5 days per week. Or, they should give people who are NOT selecting 0% for performance per day, because we all know people will try to avoid selecting in any warehouse. It is funny that companies do not count 0% as a percentage. I think that will be fair.
