Thank you so much! I’m really happy with how the closet turned out, and I agree-the armoire adds a nice touch of elegance. Becoming a minimalist has definitely been a journey, but it feels great to finally have a space that reflects that mindset! 😊

Does that mean that more videos of organizing the Marie Kondo way follow after? Is that a challenge I can join with you?

I love your tip of looking at yourself in the mirror while reacting to a piece of clothing. It IS hard in the beginning to recognize your internal cues of “joy” for a piece of clothing, and the extra visual cue from seeing your reaction is extremely valuable. Especially for a practical person like me - I tend to confuse ‘does this spark joy’ with ‘does this item have value’. Thank you for your input - I think I may start decluttering my clothes today!

I'm glad you found the tip helpful! It’s true that distinguishing between "joy" and "value" can be tricky, especially when practicality comes into play. Watching your reaction in the mirror can give you that extra bit of clarity. It's amazing how much our expressions can reveal about how we really feel. Good luck with your decluttering-starting with your clothes sounds like a great plan. You might be surprised at how much lighter and more joyful you feel with a wardrobe that truly reflects what makes you happy!

Great video! I am struggling with clothes that I just bought and spend a lot of money for and feel so bad and sorting them out. Somehow I think I’m still gonna wear it…

Just found your channel, thanks so much for the tips! You mention sub-categories for sorting things out. I can think of a couple obvious one, but what are all the sub-categories?

Thank you for checking out my channel! I'm so glad the tips are helpful 😊 When it comes to sub-categories, it depends a bit on what you're organizing, but here are some common ones I use based on the Marie Kondo method:
      1. Clothing: tops, bottoms, outerwear, accessories, shoes, etc.
      2. Books: by genre, subject, or even frequency of use.
      3. Papers: bills, documents, keepsakes, and anything work-related.
      4. Komono (miscellaneous items): kitchen tools, bathroom products, electronics, and so on.
      5. Sentimental items: photos, letters, and mementos.
Breaking things down into these sub-categories helps make the process less overwhelming and more manageable! Let me know if you'd like tips for a specific category!

One thing that was always hard for me was the motivation. Start out strong, then taper off as things get hard or I realize just how much I have left. Any tips?

I totally get that-staying motivated can be tough, especially when you're facing a big project! One thing that really helps is breaking the process into smaller, manageable chunks. Instead of tackling everything at once, focus on one category or area at a time. Also, celebrate the small wins! Every step forward counts. And don't be too hard on yourself-it's okay to take breaks. Sometimes, setting a timer for just 20 minutes of tidying can help build momentum without feeling overwhelming. You’ve got this! 💪😊
