- Hey guys!
In this video, we go over how to use VoiceMeeter Potato to manage audio of your dual PC setup using VBAN (V.B Audio Network). After trying everything from the Beacn Mix Create to the GoXLR, VoiceMeeter is still my preferred audio solution. So I hope this helps someone out!
Sorry i haven't posted in a while. This video has been on my bucket list for some time and I'm so happy to finally put it out!

Omg finally! I tend to avoid longer videos but yours was the one i needed after watching a couple of others, love how you explain with every setting and feature so everything is crystal clear.
Thanks AMS!
Thank you!! After watching a lot of other videos, this one is the only one that got me setup. Great job!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you so much! I spent literally 5 hours trying to figure this out by watching other videos to no prevail but with one play of your video I was set!
Glad I was able to help!
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 is this all the same steps for Streamlabs or is it different? I cant get desktop audio from Voicemeeter on the streaming PC
Between your dual pc guide with the HD60s and now this, you've saved me a major headache. Thank you so much!
Glad to help!
Great tutorial man! Solved all my problems with this in a fast way!
I have tried to get this working several times. I got it working ONCE for like a month and it stopped for some reason.
But this guide really helped. Renaming the sound devices to match what they are/do. That really helped. I'm just so glad I got this working. Now I don't need to buy a second mic and hopefully, this will work in games. Where I can talk to people and not have it break like last time lol.
Thank ya for putting in the time and effort to make this as simple as you could.
Glad it could help!
Windows is what will be your biggest enemy. When ever theres a Windows update it changes the default audio settings.
So always remember to not only check the sound settings, but also the sound control panel.
To use the mic just select the aux output as your audio input and you should be good!
This is so helpful! Thank you for creating this.
not a problem! thanks for watching.
This Video helped me out alot! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching
This has easily been the most helpful video
I have searching for how to duo pc streaming for such a long time (just start streaming) i got 2 monitor and 2 pc
You give me the most basic using software to execute what i preferred ( 1 mic and 1 headphone on a Gaming PC)
Will try and give you the feed back! Thanks you for the Vid man!!
Hope this works out for ya!
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 i got an echo problem and find out that on your capture card, it needs to go set to separate the audio so it will go 3 output as in your Vid (Took me a while to find it) Hope it helps those who are stuck like me !! Ty again my man cheers!
You are the best dude! Thanks from brazil!
I wanna say thank you for helping understand voice meter and help me set it up between two pcs.
Glad I could help!

@@dweebhubtutorials4893 why do my game audio duplicate like sound echoes.
Double check the virtual inputs that have A1 selected. With l voicemeeter input set as your ur default playback audio device, then only way you should hear game audio is by having only the A1 button selected under the VAIO input channel. Somewhere you either have the A1 button selected where it shouldn't, but without seeing how you set this up ita hard to tell
i got a lots of works to do ;) thx mann
RESPECT ! It works
I did everything in the video but I couldn't solve the problem of the double sound and the problem is that there is no solution elsewhere. So I solved and fixed this error with my own efforts and now everything works as I want. Thanks for the video.
How did you fix your dbl sound?
I just watched Frugal Streamer's longer vid from 2 years ago, and that got me all fixed up.
Hope you see this but I'm in the middle of setting up a 2 PC setup for the first time and trying to find a solution for audio that works for me...this seems like it but have you noticed any impact on network passing all this over LAN? Wouldn't want to affect game ping/latency to much at the end of the day. Thanks in advance and appreciate all the effort put into the video!
Thanks, help me alot!

@@dweebhubtutorials4893 Do you have a contact email for a small query?
10:48 Just to clarify a common mistake I've heard in many VoiceMeeter tutorials which creates confusion.
The Routing Section (bottom part of the Hardware and Virtual Inputs, on the right side of the Faders) A1 - A5 ; B1 - B3 sends the audio to the Master Section (right side of the interface).
The Routing B1-B3 buttons are not linked to the Virtual Inputs (upper-center of the Interface). No meter activity up there linked to the B1-B3 Routing.
OBS on WIN and audio music programs on MAC will be works fine? SPDIF connection?
my obs will only pick up my mic but not my desktop audio from my gpc. could you help this video is the only good one i could fine voice meeter is working like it should i see the discord volume tab moving but nothing show up on obs.
I have my mic and headphones on my stream pc, it makes way more sense to me, but is there a reason why i'd want to switch my set up?
I have everything set up the exact way you have, but I am not able to get Discord audio to make to my streaming PC. Vban says that it us detecting the stream, but the Discord audio stream is giving an error that says "1, 0, 0, 1, 2" and I don't know how to fix this
outputs not labeled correctly or sending to what channels i select ...will not send to headphones ...and desktop speakers are working as long as i have the monitor speakers selected ...not sure whats going on
I need help. At the moment I set up VBAN from Gaming PC Outgoing Streams BusA2 to Streaming PC I start listening gaming pc desktop audio double. A2 (Streaming pc) audio bar is active when i play a video in gaming pc.
Nice video and a pretty good tutorial. I have one problem and maybe someone has a solution. My Hardware Input 1 suddenly is mono only. I tested different inputs which work all for HW input 4 but HW input 1 is mono only. Of course the mono button is not active. ;) I also cleared my midi mapping for the xtouch mini.HW input 1 and 4 looks absolutly the same from the settings. Is there a hidden option or setting for it?
For some reason i do not have the Voicemeeter Aux Output showing up as an option in my recording side of the sounds menu. There has gotta be something I'm missing here.
So if i wanted to use discord on the streaming pc/mic on streaming for it would i just do the same everything but only change / only do the "mic" part on the streaming pc rather than the gaming or do i have to do the whole vid in reverse...like all the stuff ur doing on gaming i would do on the streaming instead and vice versa?
100% you can do it the completely opposite! Just have to route everything going outbound the gaming PC instead.
Just a matter of preference, my kids always steal my stream PC to play games on it. So I like having my mic setup on my main rig.
Part of the reason why voicemeeter is awesome. Lots of routing possibilities!
simply great... I'll try !!! but just a question... in the guide you set a channel for the discord mic, what about the mic on a game? for example Call of Duty, I have to do the same process on vm potato and call of duty setting, is it correct?
thanks for your answer cheers
With assigning your mic to voicemeeter aux output on the gaming pc, that is what you'll select in any applications you want to use a mic..
So when I play COD I either have mine set to default or voicemeeter aux output (doesn't really matter which but sometimes games can be funny with which input they prefer)
Good luck!
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 ehhh i know, cod is o funny 😂😂 anyway i don t need to set the game on VM like discord, correct?
im having issues where I only see one virtual inputs and im having a mental breakdown cuz I spend money on cords you recommended with the sound capture and it doesnt exist anymore, which is my fault but seeing this video, thinking this is another way but I only see 1 and not 3. so please help me
My streaming pc is not detecting the incoming streams bro, i followed every step of your video. Is could be the windows firewall stopping something or anything like that ?
Would 100% check firewall.
Had the same issue with my last PC, but not my most recent one go figure lol
I am also getting double audio, can anyone help?
this has changed now bit working around the new system with this
Im having an issue where when i set my discord going to my stream pc it displays the audio from the capture card and is going back through the stream pc channel. is there a way i am able to fix this or have i setup something wrong?
Edit: its looping through stream pc connection going to my gaming pc. How do i fix that?
when i play audio on my gaming pc (watching this video) i hear lag like a doubling sound but not as slow did i do something wrong? if it's a quick fix cool if not i'll have to start over also it's because i have b1 selected on discord on stream pc
On the gaming PC double check the channels you have A1 selected for.
Duplicated audio means something was enabled and is routing audio to your headphones, just have to trace back and find what it was.
after everything i still get no incoming streams on my laptop (streaming pc)
if following this guide do i discard the stuff from previous dual pc? i.e. deleter elgato sound capture?
Elgato sound capture is not required for this guide.
So you should be okay to delete
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 yeah I deleted it and got it all to work - solved my audio issues, thank you!
when i unclick A1 under MIC B2, it cuts out the audio on my Headset, Granted my headset has a mic built in
imhaving issues to wear my game audio still wont show while streaming
Be sure to check out "Voicemeeter New VAIO driver (2024 Update)"
I have a slightly different setup do to my streaming. the "Gaming" pc for me is just the "DJ music and movie source" while the Streaming PC is doing everything else. the streaming pc is the one that as the audio interface withg the mic and speakers. i tried to adapt what you said given since my "gamer" pc is not the one with the audio interface. but i get audio being sent but i get errors in the error column of the vban for both PC. so so incoming and outgoing stream are producing errors. both are on the same sample rate and same 48000hz.
HELP! Ho eseguito tutto alla lettera, il metodo funziona. solo da pc gaming sento laudio del pc streaming ma dal pc streaming non mi rileva l'audio, nel il microfono. Come posso fare per favore aiutami sono al 90%
u have discord ??? pls link
I wanted to have discord downloaded on my stream pc and use discord thru spc not gpc how would that works ?
Hi Zach, vban can work both ways! So voicemeeter would definitely work for what you need.
It's basically the same steps in the video just in reverse. Microphone can be plugged into either the streaming or gaming PC.
How many milliseconds does it lag between 2 computers?
Minimal in my experience, quarter to a half second off.
A lot faster if you have a gigabit switch between the two.
Never really effected any syncing issues on stream
The streaming computer hears my mic fine but no desktop audio for some reason. any suggestions?
Hmmm I usually assign my capture card as one of the hardware outputs (A2) in the top right of the mixer.
Then the desktop audio is sent via HDMI and picked up by OBS as a video capture device on the streaming PC.
You could try that!
Having this exact same issue and no Idea how to fix it the only way I can get it to pick up my gaming desktop on my streaming audio is if I select B2 on my gaming pc under the stream pc input 3
I NEED HELP!!! My desktop audio (stream pc) is capturing my gaming pc audio but its VERY delayed
Was this after following this guide? Not sure that happened if you followed this to a tee.
i noticed in vban you had us set the discord as A2 but A2 is our capture card and all of my audio from gaming pc is going to discord in voicemeter on stream pc
Followed this letter by letter and somehow i ended up getting all of my Gaming PC's audio going to my Streaming PC, then back to my Gaming PC. So for instance, i play a UA-cam video and I hear it twice at the same time. Only started once I got the alerts going back to my Gaming PC.
Hmmm sounds like there's an A1 button selected where it shouldn't be.
If you are handling your gaming PCs desktop audio through ur capture card like i am, voicemeeter is monitoring and sending it back to the gaming PC.
is it normal when doing steps 3;22 i believe ( i add A1 HARDWARE OUTPUT) my pc crashed well audio render error
its bc i had voicemod on
i guess i wont use voice mod anymore?
ran only into one problem, i get my stream pc audio and my mmic to stream audio but i have no game/discord audio to stream
it gives me a warning when I open voicemeeter potato that says "Bad audio driver installation dtected some audio stream could not work correct in case of unexplained audio problem, you may consider checking criver installation tool (see menu) and follow recommendation if any...
see also the help and support link given in menu" Does anyone know who can help me solve this error? but it is only in the voicemeeter potato because in the voicemeeter banana it works for me and it works perfectly for me
It is because you changed the name of the Voicemeeter audio device in the windows sound setting. Voicemeeters device checker is looking for exacts in the NAME and ICON of it's audio devices. Changing these gives the error checker a false positive, if you just dont do the renaming bit it will work fine and not give you an error.
I am having trouble getting discord and game play audio to stream pc. I got the mic all set
Have you setup VBAN? it's the same steps if you've already sent the mic over the stream PC.
How about this. What computer do you run discord from?
I just watched this 3 Times by now. Triple checked if i done it correctly, but for me its doubling the sound, because the vban input on my streaming PC is capturing ALL THE SOUND .... dunno whats going on
Do you have vban setup for your desktop audio and still have audio being sent through your capture card?
And by all sound do you mean everything on the stream and gaming PC?

@@dweebhubtutorials4893 Not exactly, my gaming PC is doubled, but my actual streamingPC Sounds are normal. Alerts for example are normal.
And yes, i just clicked and checked exactly what you clicked and checked. Even A1 and A2 Hardware Output was nearly the same for me. A2 Hardware Output is the elgato capture card for me too
@@glocktopus3000 @dweebhubtutorials4893 I thought I fixed it, but getting the Alerts only over to my PC was finicky. I ended up looking at Frugal Steamer's video, that got me going now.

Bro, I did every single step. The only thing that still bothers me and I cannot understand is the fact that I have an echo when playing sound on my Gaming pc. I repeated your steps 3 more times the very same way and still with echo. Could you please assist me? Thank you for your videos, life and white hairs saver.
Sounds like audio is looping somewhere, like it's going to the stream PC then looping back to the game pc maybe.
On the gaming PC, what are your output devices? Like A1 - headphones, A2 - cap card etc
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 I was not expecting such a quick reply! On the gaming pc my output devices are: A1 my headphones (hyper x usb plug) and A2 my elgato mk2 capture card
I ear perfectly the streaming pc on my gaming pc without echo, but the gaming pc echos.
Any ideia bro? would love to get your reply!
Different between potato and banana?
Potato has 3 virtual inputs and 5 hardware inputs, banana has 2 virtual inputs and 3 hardware inputs.
@@dweebhubtutorials4893 so I should be able to follow along regardless? I have one mic and one headset. I have a Vivitar HDMI/usb capture card. A mixer is $30. I had voice meeter working but my audience couldn't hear any audio during streams 😕 idk what I did. Vban didn't show any errors. Hopefully your video is better than the one I watched to get it setup
My second pc is crackling audio
Crackling is usually a sign of mismatched sample rates. Check the sample rate of EVERY voicemeeter audio device and make sure it matches between both PCs.
Every instance of vm should be set to 48khz, even the virtual audio cables.
