- In this walkthrough, I'll show you how to connect a GOXLR (Mini) mixer to your 2 PC setup and use it to split all of your audio channels and monitor them individually. This mixer is very useful in a dual PC setup and is really all you need besides a microphone, software and cables to make a 2 PC audio setup work!

If you go to the advanced audio properties of your alerts in OBS and change their Audio Monitoring setting from "Monitor Off" to "Monitor and Output" it will play the alert across your line out so you can hear it on your headphones on your GoXLR (on your gaming PC)

I have the same setup and go xlr mini. I tried it a few months back, the thing is audio isn't quite as good as streaming obs directly on gaming pc. Maybe it is because different headphones and streaming pc doesnt have a mixer. Do you think there is loss in sound quality from mixer to streaming pc? I also like how I can monitor sound level on obs for mic and system sounds, but I guess it is not possible without something like 2 mixers with 2 in and out to separate mic and system sounds.
Do you have a follow on video with this set up on how to do the OBS settings (Sources and Audio mixer section)

I have a question about setting up soundalerts and/or alert sounds (new follower/sub etc.) on the gaming pc as well as the streaming pc. so for my stream i have sound alerts as channel point redemptions, but I can't figure out when im on my gaming pc, to hear the alerts from the streaming pc. is it possible to find a way to hear it on my gaming pc as well?

Yes! You need one for each line that goes into the goXLR

Thanks man! The line in line out ports are 3.5mm cables. So do you mean by just using a single cable? I think you’d need a different workaround for that
My mic works just fine but there's not the slightest bit of desktop audio that gets sent over.

I'm going to be getting the GoXLR MINI im going to buy a Blue Yeticaster with it's boom arm since sadly the mic you have doesn't get shipped to Australia. I have looked up showing I can then connect the usb mic into the front of the GoXLR with an aux cable that's not a problem.
I saw in the video that your headphones are in your streaming PC, I current have a USB Razer Headet that I'm going to use. So I plug them into my streaming PC? So I should be able to hear all the sounds from my Gaming PC on my Streaming PC through my headset connected to my Streaming PC? I'm trying my best to follow your amazing steps and get it all sorted before i go out buying all this amazing equiptment.
I actually switch my headphones between PC's because I use an analog in ear headset. When im on the gaming PC, I plug into the Goxlrmini. When I'm on my streaming/editing PC, I plug into the sound card in that PC

How do you play spotify to your stream and not get the copywrite for it ..i havent found out how to seperate the audio track for spotify from the vod ?
If you do a lot of video recording and editing wouldn't you want the GoXLR connected to your streaming pc and not your gaming pc though so you can split the audio and make things easier when you go to edit in your preferred editing software? I don't think you can split audio in recordings if its connected to via gaming pc?
Nope, the audio all come through one line. It’s a simpler way to get the job done but yes, If you want to split the audio so you don’t have to worry about copyrighted music in your videos you can do the streaming PC route. I just haven’t been able to figure out how to make it work for my setup.

I can vouch for that ground loop adapter. Immediately silent audio after i installed it

I have a schiit Magnius/Modius for headphones/speakers and a USB mic.
Most of these guides I find are assuming both your mic and game audio are both coming from the pc but my game audio is coming from the amp and mic from the gaming pc.

everytime I try to follow along my streaming pc gets the audi from the gaming pc as the same source for my mic as in im in obs and mu line in source is a mic and any audio from my pc no matter what. what am I doing wrong?

I wanted Spotify, and Discord on Streaming PC. So I connected GoXlr to Stream PC. and then the 3.5 into gaming. this way, I didnt use any resources on my gaming pc. But found it hard on OBS to seperate my game sound, and seems everything runs thru the Line in. And wish to seperate my game sound in OBS. but it wont. everything is tied to BSM. Any solutions, so i can keep discord and not have to run 2 monitors on Gaming PC to keep Frames etc at max FPS?
i did as vid but i can hear on game pc my laptop audio but the audio wont work on stream or obs only when i have in sources my mic as the 3.5 mic thing so a 3.5 cable goes into the mic an then i hear static an hear my game an mic sooo that way i cant now edit my mic audio like i did on 1 pc only way is through goxlr but it sounds bad on stream pc compare to game pc so what i do an i just bought shipping now a groundloop for static.

My Brother in christ this is some important piece of information here. I have one question that needs to be answer so I can return to streaming. I'm currently running a laptop as my streaming pc and my issue is with the audio. I've thought about purchasing the GoXLR, but my laptop only has the standard 3.5mm headset jack not the line in and out like a pc should. debating buying a splitter but I don't want lose money on equipment that might not work, what should you or the comment section recommend.
I only have one ground loop isolator, as other videos mentioned you only needed one. Would that still be okay? And still plug it into the "Line Out" on the back of the GoXLR Mini?
That’s correct for one of the cables but you still may get some interference noise with the other.

However, on my streaming PC, when I record, it records any desktop sound as well as my mic, however, my desktop sound is a little lower and I was hoping to adjust the volume level from what it records, and have my voice be slightly louder. Is there a way to do that within OBS? Sorry if that sounds confusing.

I can’t hear ANYTHING from my stream PC. Everything else works perfectly fine.
I have a 3.5 connection from the line out stream PC to the line in on Goxlr.
Yet the line in is just dead. Can’t hear anything from stream PC at all which is only a problem because of alerts.

No audio goes through to OBS on my streaming computer when I have my audio mixer's usb plug into my gaming computer and the audio cables plugged into the streaming computer. I tried the other way around, and now all audio is going through my mic. I can't find anything to help me.

yes it does! Once I get that working on my own machines, Ill be sure to make a detailed video on how to make it work. It's pretty complicated so I haven't even gone down the rabbit hole to do it myself.

I still can't get my desktop audio to show on obs or the stream Pc only the line in shows up on the stream pc but not the line out which I believe is what transfers the desktop audio

Alright, I don't know of its my stupid brain or how dumb i set it up. I've followed verything maybe 98%. However, When I plugin in my line in (goxlr) to the line out (streaming pc which color is green) I hear myself in my Line In channel on the go xlr Headphones channel. the Mic channel is unchecked on the headphones channel. Would love some help if you can spare the time. So far my chatroom can hear my streaming pc audio and gaming pc audio fine. So, im at a confusing point now. Does the Line In (Goxlr) connected to the Streaming PC (line out) even matter? please and thank you

so basically my friend has audio problems as such. she has dual pc setup and is using GOXLR. she can only hear audio in one earbud on her gaming pc but she can hear in both earbuds on her streaming pc. her stream can hear her when she talks so her mic is fine but we can’t hear her game and music. i hope you can help bro. i would really appreciate it! :)

So on the streaming pc what would i set the audio for my headphones if the headphones are plugged into goxlr?
Yes. You do this so that your desktop audio (like your alerts) don’t play through your speakers or something. You’ll only be able to hear the audio if you switch your headphones from the goXLR back to the streaming pc

There is a solution for wireless headphones using this setup but they have to have some kind of 3.5mm receiver that plugs into the goXLR

@@RedBlaze_1423 Hye bro, My headset is connected to my gaming pc with the usb dongle. I then run a AUX cable from the XLR headphone jack into a ground loop noice isolater into my gaming Pc line in jack. Then you have to set it up in Pc audio settings

Im having some trouble, i have purchased ALMOST everything that you have, and followed the video, step by step.. many times, but still not getting the audio from my game onto my livestream - using obs.. i don't know if im doing something wrong or not but I'm not getting the option on my STREAMING PC to set the (audio Input) to (line in).. not sure if this is the reason my audio is not transferring.. please help :(
Add an audio input as a source on your streaming PC OBS, set the source for that input to Line-In. That should allow you to capture your audio from your gaming PC.
I have a question so my recording pc is my laptop and my gaming pc is an actual pc, so with the step for the line out on the streaming pc would I just plug into the one 3.5mm plug?

I have a question: my streaming pc only has a "headset" inlet, and not the mic in and audio out as in a standard motherboard (I have a mini pc, but I guess it would be the same as for a laptop). Is it possible to use an audio jack splitter to connect the microphone and audio outlet from the gaming pc motherboard into the streaming pc single "headset" inlet? Would it work as if I connected the cables separately?

@@jayburnham3994 I believe if you care about your ingame mic you need to plug it into the gaming computer, but if you only want stream you're able to plug it into the streaming as well, I ended up plugging it into my gaming in the end

you can, but the setup is a bit different and you'd need splitters and other stuff so you can hear your gaming PC audio properly
The only thing I don't see here is how to route your mic not only to the streaming PC, but into the gaming PC for games that have in-game-chat. I use Voicemeeter potato.... but... oof... it's a pain. VBAN is shite too.
