Caraway and nutmeg hands down the most underrated spices in perfumery IMO. Caraway and coffee bean are an unreal combo. Frankincense is also best resin. I get a sorta candied ginger vibe from it, minus the sweetness. The website you showed with dilutions would be extremely useful. If you have a link that would be awesome. Thanks for showing us
I have some old nutmeg and the smell was nice when it was fresh. I would like caraway and coffee but can't afford it at the moment haha. What website with the dilutions?
Dear sam, Many thanks for your swift response, it really helped me gain a deeper understanding of (Perfume Raw Materials), again I appreciate your fast reply. Best regards mohab
You can tell this was improvved. Cheesy but good. LOL. You lovely people. It was difficult to watch this without cringing at the cheesiness of every line. I love Sam Macer.
Thanks for the level of detail here - I can tell I'm going to enjoy watching more of your videos. This is a really helpful introduction to things I didn't know I didn't know, If you see what I mean!
Thank you very much for all the information Sam! Excellent and very interesting content! Do you plan to make your cards for each ingredient available? It would be nice to have them printed!
Thank you! Unfortunately that was a one off project since those cards actually took a very long time to design and they aren't flexible if I find out new info. The successor to this 'card' idea is the raw materials cards on Formulair, so check that out too (not quite the same I know but it allows you to make your own in a way). You can get the cards I already made if you email me at sam@lux-terra.co.uk.
Yeah no problem. I was planning on doing that anyway but hadn't got round to it yet. My next accord video is taking longer than expected so I'll see if I can get a book review out in the next few days.
Love your channel and the way you present information. You make things sound like a piece of cake. Thank you. What's your opinion on DoTerra essential oils?
@@sammacer alright, thanks for the honest answer. Is there any differences between essential oils for perfumery and essential oils for other uses like topical application or for consumption as long as they are high quality?
@@viktoriyamarinova9337 The difference is in the definition of 'high quality'. What may be a 'high quality' oil for aromatherapy isn't necessarily a 'high quality' oil for perfumery. I know it seems confusing but it's something you only really get to know with experience. For perfumery the smell is the most important thing, which is why it's good to have an experienced perfumer preselect something good. Other 'high quality' essential oils may have been produced with care but potentially not in a way in which the smell in particular is optimal. If they don't have a perfumer to check then they wouldn't know themselves. Perfumery is such a niche use case for most consumers compared to aromatherapy so wouldn't normally be considered.
you do great work, dear Sam. thank you for sharing your researches. May I ask you, what app you use to show the dif. materials, as you show on the tablet (pink pepper)?
Well I researched it myself so if it's for different things than I've covered you would have to research it yourself. Books on perfumery and research papers can help.
This channel is gold! Keep it up!
Thanks, will do when I get a chance
Could you make a video talking about you? What are your goal in perfumery? Your favorite fragrances? Where it all started etc
Hi! Yeah I will do eventually but I'm not sure when exactly.
@@sammacer Thanks 👍

Can you make a video covering few books and resources discussing some material they cover.

Love your channel and the way you present information. You make things sound like a piece of cake. Thank you. What's your opinion on DoTerra essential oils?
Thank you! I've never bought from them so couldn't say. It doesn't look like they're developed for perfumery though so I would be cautious.

@@sammacer I see... thank you for the extensive answer. It would be interesting to compare both in terms of scent just to tune up my olfactory senses.

It's just some pdf files I made - you can get them for free on my website

Not a problem!
I love spices in fragrances but they are tricky
Yeah - easy for them to overpower

@@sahelhossain4145 There's no pre-defined formula. You will have to experiment yourself to find the answer!
Where can I find this material showing information for each accord? thx
