I use grip tapes quite a bit because I find most mice coatings are geared towards sweaty hands. I have pretty dry hands so most mice are not grippy at all
For years, I have been trying grip tape on my mice, but I always ended up taking it off minutes later because of how terrible it made my mouse feel, like you were saying. Last week I decided to give the Pulsar supergrip precuts a try, and it felt instantly better from the templates. I like how I was able to put grip tape on the areas of contact that is important to my mouse grip.
the bigggest issue mate is u bought terrible rubber grip tape, which is not only slippery but also not very thin. Try getting raypad or La Onda grip tape, which goes as thin as 0.15mm
I never liked griptabe. But I sometimes do my own grips with Lizzardskin 0.5 mm hockey racket band. It´s super cheap for the amount of grips you get out of one role. And you can do unlimeted shapes with some restrictions do to size. Would recomend everyone to pick it up If you wanna experiment with grips on reviews. Will cost you less and they peel off very easy as well.
I have tried the supergrips in the past, and I remember how insanely grippy they were, they were also nice and thin! Thanks for the reminder, and glad you're enjoying them
these few added millimeters of thickness coming from the griptape can completely change the feel and the miniscule but important grooves that a mouse shape has. Griptape should be used deliberately only on areas where you actually grip the mouse and preferably very thin ones like la onda super thin griptapes or xraypad cicada griptapes
You're right mate, I was hoping the pre cut template would be fun, but I'll look into some cicada grip tape and I'll apply it as you suggest. Hope you're keeping well 💪
Had the same experience. Tried grip tape templates and it kinda just felt better for the first day after that it's doesn't feel as grippy anymore and just kinda ruins the feel of the mouse. I think it's better to use uncut grip tape and just put it on certain spots but I think I'm fine without it.
try the meow gaming gear ultraglide 010 grips, they are about 0.1mm thick and comes in squares/rectangles, has this soft touch silicone feel to it too. hardly changes the feel of the mouse due to how thin it is
Wity my soo sweaty hands(i sweat so much even in the winter period) i found for myself "Wilson pro sensation", they are cheap af and lasts for 2-3 weeks,.but it comes with 3 rolls( it's grips for tennis racket). Using them more than 4 months and haven't used even one roll. But they are 0.5mm which quite thick for somebody but not me
I've also been using these for a while now. however I have to change it more often because my sweat soaks the grips and since this is much cheaper than actual grips, I just change them every 4-8days. I'm got some regular wilson pros on the way to try out thicker grips to see if it would last for a longer time. ~45usd for 30 pieces of grip and ~20usd for the 3m 467mp tape. don't get me wrong, but these are still at least as grippy as those corepad grips when I say they 'wear out' but I prefer the brand new feel where my fingers just 'stick' and won't lose grip. also the thickness is about 0.4mm on 'wilson pro sensation' and adhesive is about 0.08mm but when I apply cicadas right beside my grips they feel and look like they have the same thickness. regular wilson pros are apparently 0.6mm so I'll see if it feels too thick whenever I finally get to try them. anyways cicada and supergrips feels better and gripper than most aftermarket grips I tried. but these still gets less grippy pretty fast as my sweaty hands really just makes it 'wear out' fast.
never used grip tape. Is it a pain to peel off? I can't see it damaging coating unless the coating of the mouse is somehow that bad. Only "modification" I've ever done to mice is replace the skates because most skates suck out of the box imo with some rare exceptions. Of course that comes down to preference also.
Suspected by many, admitted by few. Griptape like this sucks if you claw or palm grip a mouse. It just doesnt feel right and distracts from the feel of the mouse. Though if you fingertip, I dont think its as much of an issue. Since only such a small area touches the shape. Also having more grip is beneficial for fingertip. (But maybe im coping because I have a transparent hsk pro and its super slippery w/o tape)
You're right mate, its way more important to use grip tape in fingertip grip. Those transparent HSK pros look so clean, almost a shame to put tape on it!

Yes that makes total sense. I'm a bit of a sweaty person so it makes sense that the coatings typically work well for me

I'll pick some of these up, thanks man 😁
@@Log_Pile Hell yeah, They're insanely grippy!

You might be right there, I have tried different tape in the past, but maybe I need to venture into the ultra thin grip tape realm 🫡
Try the X-ray pad grip tape. Cicada v2 is what I have but geko v2 might be better I have not tested it tho
@@Log_Pilecicarda, gecko, and super grips I reccomend
Don’t buy La Onda. The whale is a giant douche idk why ppl buy his stuff

I use Pulsar supergrips on most of my mice now. It gives me a great locked in feeling.
A lot of coatings feel too smooth and slippery for me

I actually resonate entirely with this video bro....

That sounds like a cost effective solution, nice work 👍 its great when you find solutions that work for you 👏

Have you had issues with Vaxee's coating shining? Considering buying grip tape for my Outset AX because of this.
Hey man, I haven't experienced this myself, I'll keep an eye on it though
