Stitch markers are great, I did a tumbling blocks baby blanket and even though I knew which stitches came next the markers gave me the confidence to knit without looking and trust what my fingers were telling me

I love the colors that you use I think I'm going to get those so I can make a nice blanket for my daughter I think I'm also going to need a longer circular needle hopefully I can find one that is 40 or 60 inches

Hi! I don't have an alternative. This yarn is so good, it's worth it to make your blanket out of nice quality yarn. But there's a way to get the skeins cheaper. What I suggest is going to Michael's or Jo Ann with a 50 or 60% off coupon and buying them that way. I've done this lots of times..you just have to take multiple trips. If you don't want to do that, you could search on google for size 6 yarn and see if there's any good deals. Just watch for the yardage. You could find good prices but they don't have as much yarn in them
@@devoragafni1929 you purl every other row when you're on the wrong side. Message me on IG and send me a pic or video of what you have so far so I can help you better.
There is a gauge on the pattern. So knit up a swatch until it's the same size as the patterns swatch and toil be able to figure out how many sts you need to make the same size blanket
Which do you find more comfortable? English method or the Continental method. I learned how to knit in the continental method because I learned how to crochet before I learned how to knit so I got used to holding my yarn in my left hand more than my right. The only time that I do the English method is if I'm stranding colors because I find that my tension is a bit looser.
I just learned continental last year but I’ve definitely gotten used to it and it is my preferred method. I just need practice starting a row in continental. I also prefer English style for purl. Still haven’t got the hang of it in continental. But it’s faster and a lot easier on my hands which is why I’ll keep trying.
@@iKNITS could you please do a video on it? I accidentally dropped stitches in this pattern and can't figure out how to fix it. Also because I'm not sure where the start of the dropped stitch is.
Metal needles let the yarn slide across them really easy.. the yarn drags across wooden needles making you knit slower which is ideal for beginners as it helps prevent the yarn from slipping off the needle.. but if you want to be able to knit faster without the drag, metal is the best option
@@iKNITS sorry one more question so I just ordered some circle knitting needles. Would it be easy to transfer from straight to the circle? I would think so but don't want to mess up my work
@@katiekerr6730 Yes! You put your circular needle on your right hand, and then keep the straight needle on your left needle with your work on it, and start knitting it onto your new needle and wa-la!
If your needles are long enough, then you can use straight needles. Usually they aren't so that's why you use circular needles. I personally prefer to knit with circular needles. They're so much easier to knit with.

When you knit you end up with the braid looking stitch and the back of it is kinda wavy.. purl is basically the other side of that.. purling gives you the wavy stitch and the back of the purl is the braid looking stitch.. its the same stitch just back to front in a way
