      Ah thanks....nice to get feedback because I never know whether I am explaining things in the best of ways. I am better when there's no recording going on...as soon as you start recording, it makes you forget how to speak at all....😂

    Thank you so much for sharing! I would pay for your tutorials!! Been doing pastels and colour pencils quite well but now trying acrylics. It's so much harder! Either the paint is too blobby or it's too thin 😢 or the brush is too hard or too floppy. 😢 I won't give up!!

    Love your vids... do you dry each layer before going in with the next?

    • @TmHudsonArt
      @TmHudsonArt  2 роки тому +1

      I don't need to. Acrylics are not like oils. They dry very quickly.

    Hey! I love this video, thank you so much, really helpful! I’m just getting back into acrylics after years of not painting, but I dislike canvas texture. Can I ask what paper you use please? Thank you! ♥️

    • @TmHudsonArt
      @TmHudsonArt  2 роки тому

      Hi...I also dislike canvas and it is overrated lol. I use Fabriano Artistico hotpress the thicker 640gsm/300lb one....

      It’s definitely overrated! I bulk bought lots and they will never be used 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

    Hi, have tried several dog paintings and can't seem to get proportions right. Do you trace or light box yours as they always look so perfect..I need help 😔

    • @TmHudsonArt
      @TmHudsonArt  2 роки тому +2

      When doing commissions and on time constraints, I will use transfer methods to speed the process up yes. I always advise practising freehand and using it where you can though. You'll not be perfect after several..it takes hundreds and hundreds and to just keep doing it.

      I did art education up to A-level but when it comes to the skills I have acquired to do portraits like this, I consider myself mostly self taught.
