I've been using the Presonus Eris E3.5 for about a year now and I absolutely love them! No regrets or complaints at all with them
With Bt or without
What is better option
@@farhanbhatt123 Neither.
A real review;
ua-cam.com/video/FM4jQh45KyM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Erin%27sAudioCorner
2 questions are they good for mixing(music production) and and I can’t seem to set the highs and lows correctly to hear a decent sound so what’s the best setting for that?
i just ordered the 4.5" and wondering if the 5" mackies are better bc they go down to 50hz and are 80 watts compared to 70hz and 50 watts.
@@farhanbhatt123 I am using eris 3.5 too without Bluetooth. I think if you are mixing cable connection is better. If you are not a audiophile listener then buy a cheap Bluetooth usb connect with the eris. Way more cheaper than eris Bluetooth one.
Thanks man, I was struggling about which of those two buy, the perfect video exactly when I needed it.
I love these two. I've always contemplating which ones are better. You always make things easier Ed! Thanks. I'd really love the monitors man🙌
Thanks for watching man!! 🙏🏻
@@EdwardSmithMusic Always!🤝
I have mackie cr3x, its "definetely" a multimedia speaker. Sound nice, love the vocal, decent bass, and you'll not suffer ear fatigue for long listening session but i dont recommend if you use this for monitor or even music production.
I have the Eris 3.5s and I couldn’t be happier. The mackies sound nice as well but it seems like it’s more for gaming or multimedia than music production. Both great for the price, though.
are the eris good for causal music listening too? good bass?
Watching / listening to your video via the Presonus Eris e3.5 I love em
brief and concise comparison
dope content as usual
Thanks so much!! 🙏🏻
Well, i bought the mackie cr3’s a few years ago, to coplement my HS8’s and they really helped my mixing game. I really love them!
You did that on the comparisons! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯✨
I’ve had my Presonus monitors for 4 years and they’re still going strong .
Thank you for the comparison 🙏 still looking for a pair of decent studio monitors. Now i have a direction when funds finally allow lol
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Going to try the Presonus. Made sure to use your Sweetwater link to thank you for your help 👍
I think it would be cool if you did an update on these now that you have moved on to better quality speakers. 3 inch cones, even in a perfect enviroment, are not going to give a budding producer a flat response in the way they need.. they are nice speakers don't get me wrong. I own them, but I wouldn't trust them to mix on... Adam T5V's are probably the best legit "budget" speaker worth suggesting to a novice along side a warning about acoustic treatment. love the videos keep up the good work!
Hello. I just forgot about any choices after discovered CR3-X in Green color limited edition.
Ordered right away and today will be delivered. Will make a "unpacking" clip...
Keep up the great work man
Thanks Tommy!!
In my country the Mackie CR3-X are more expensive that the Presonus Eris E3.5 so... I choose the Eris, thanks for the comparison
I've had the Presonus set for a few years and they're great! All i'm missing is a bit more low end, but i'm thinking about adding the Sub8 to the setup
The sub makes a big difference 👌🏻
I have a KRK 10s but you can more certainly pair with the PreSonus Sub.
Take actual measurements of them. You're missing a lot more than low end.
Thanks for this video. At least I don't have the buy monitors as I start my producing journey. I have the Presonus Eris E3.5 monitor speakers and I love them.
Good view, great points, Thanks a lot brother Edi, God bless you!
Thank you!!
I’ve been using the presonus 3.5 for about 2 years and they’ve been great.. upgrading to adam tv5 for Xmas!!
Great upgrade!!
I own a presonus 3.5 for the past two months and it's reall amazing for my small home studio set up 😊 I'm hoping to save money and get my headphones to not disturb my brothers😂
Awesome!
how is it for listening to music?
Congratulations on 57K subs Sir
Thank you!!
Thanks man!
great job bro .....love your videos
Thank you so much 😀
The mackies rock for the price. Use mine for guitar and they sound amazing to me. Would love to try those presonus
I liked this review but to me it was too careful not hearting anyone. I know the choice is the customers, but some technical feature comparison would have been welcomed. I have just seen a couple of your videos and I like the happy, positive vibes of them! Keep up with this great stuff!
Excellent comments !
The bass in the Mackie CR4-X is fuckin good, i luv that studio monitor, nice sound.
I've got the crx 4 speakers. A lot of rubbish is talked about noise humming ect. It's no problem if you use TRS inputs. They are a bit heavy on the bass. OK for a DJ but maybe not a producer.
Question. I need some decent speakers for a Macbook 16 Pro connected via Bluetooth. Will these work well no need and amp or extra stuff? Thanks
Hi Edward. I have the CR3X, I do I get both speakers to emit sound on a digital keyboard. Currently I can only switch between left and right. Tx
Presonys sounds clearer and better. I can hear the difference when you switch over to Mackie.
Damn man I am so excited, I can't wait to get my hands on the Presonus. I am a big audiophile and music collector so I am excited to hear my music on quality speakers and when I am tripping on dissociative and psychedelics I will hopefully blast off to outerspace because of the sound quality
nice
bro is a certified geeker
listen to kankan and yeat off acid on ur new speakers gang
@@prodwazzam cuhclown 🐐
@@prodkade1 bruh i’ve deadass been listening to ur beats 4 awhile now, i commented on ur most popular saying it’s out of key as a joke 🤣
I use presonus as the litmus test for all my mixes. They recreate the BEST speaker and headphone representation of recorded audio. It makes no sense how they’re that good and that small.
Nice comparison video. Love from India.
Thanks for watching!!
Presonus looks quite nice, but Macie sounds brighter hmm? Thanks for the review :)
I'm confused between Kali Lp6 and KRK Rokit 7 g4
Could you please make a detailed comparison between them or just reply me for whatever is your suggestions and thoughts about them
Thank you.
I've had my E3,5 for two years+. I use in bedroom secondary studio to do quick takes and jam. also TV and PS2 go thru all. I think they are the best for $$ and how good they sound for that price. Sound best away from back wall at least and tweet even with ears +/-. I like in quite environment you can turn down very low and they are clear and balanced. Still Rocking @ 72!. Z.K.
Do you using dac for them or at this price point dont bother with dacs?
Great job as Always Ed. Think I'm gonna go Presonus.👍🏽
Thanks Ty!!
What wires are you using to connect the speakers to the desktop?
I have the cr5 mackie are super powerfull and exelent quality of the box and sound
are they good bass wise? im thinking of returning my presonus 4.5's the mackies seem more crisp treble wise and higher power with more bsss
How can I connect the Presonus to my pc? do they come with the 3.5 cable?
The Mackie speakers get great reviews for music but they have a noise gate built in to remove hiss which means for cutting dialogue when video editing I suggest you try before you buy, at low output levels they will reduce any ambient sound between speech to silence in a very unnatural way.
Totally! I don't understand why they did this.. sound really good.. but the noise gate makes really dificult to work.
I assume removing the hiss is better than the unbeleivable amount of hiss coming out of Presonus. I can't stand them. I am returing eris 3.5 and 4.5 because of high hissing.
The Mackie seems cool, but where I live you have to wait for ages for them to arrive...
Awesome 👍
🤔 Whats your opinion on Presonus E4.5 vd Edifier MR4?
hey Edward! I've just ordered the Eris 3.5s but I accidentally bought unbalanced trs cables. Is it going to be a big problem?
If you can… test them out. You might get luck since these are desktop speakers and not really studio monitors.
It’s crazy how these are the exact 2 I’m looking at and when I searched here I only searched mackie cr3x
Same lol
Great review but which would you buy?😮
Hehe, I worked for Celestion and KEF as a quality control officer, still live in Ipswich....eg: I have listened to a lot of great speakers. The Mackie CR3 are the only speakers I currently own....beautiful silk tweeters.
With the Mackies on Bluetooth, is there noticeable latency during recording?
For what it's worth, all the guys who worked at Mackie from when they were cool (20 years ago), actually work at PreSonus now.
I was going to buy the mackies because they are smaller cones but this comment convinced me
Does the cr3-x still have the speaker position switch failing over time like the cr-3?
is presonus eris 3.5 is good for mixing, for bedroom home studio, or you suggested other Monitor Speaker..
These speakers aren’t really designed for music production and mixing… they aren’t studio monitors
@@EdwardSmithMusic yeah, but you think in this price, they are still best option to this?
Is they better than m audio 3.5?
Would anyone know how these presonus' perform as a soundbar alternative for watching TV?
Great💕
my desktop HS8's made both these speakers sound amazing :P
Hy bro my budget is under 20k which monitors should i buy for mixing mastering please help 🙏🙏🙏
Get the adams if your budget it 20k lol
I bought presonus eris 3.5 3 year ago for playing guitar through there with plug ins
2 days ago was their last use , they are dead.
But guess what
I will buy it again
But the 4.5 version :)
I cant find any better choice with this price range
Greek market presonus 3.5 101 euros mackie cr3 x 125 euros
Should I not do the same? I'm looking to buy the Audient Evo 8 as my AI and these speakers for monitoring and my mac mini for the DAW software.. I can't sing so its strictly guitar recordings...
Should I get the eris e 3.5 or the Mackie speakers?
I would go Eris E3.5
I don't own these but from this Video, I feel Mackie sounds much better and original vs the Preso...
The Presonus have a ''flat'' sound that's more beneficial for mixing. The Mackies sound better and are more towards gaming, media situations IMO.
I started my day off literally choosing between these two speakers on amazon, and I ordered the Presonus. Curious to hear what playing bass guitar through them will sound like
Hey, quick question, do they sound good with a bass guitar as i might use them on my digital piano as my internal ones arent that good. 👍
That’s why I don’t trust speakers. Each type has such a different character that it’s really hard to do any music production on them. That’s just me. I trust a good pair of cans with well trained ears. Yes the mixing and mastering will be better on studio monitors just to check the levels and panning but even then, without a properly treated room, the delay and reverb will be different compared to a well treated room. I had a bunch of studio monitors and I realized they are not something I would use often for bedroom music production. A pair of Audio Technical M50X is enough for me. If i had to get a pair tho….I guess the JBL 10-4 would be my choice.
Any recommendation for monitors that eventually I could use in a bigger room like a living room to mix music with a DJ controller and enjoy with few friends?
I use the crx 4 with a pioneer ddj rz using TRS connections. Excellent bass! Good for mixing and loud.
Yes, the bass in the Mackie Crx 4 is fukin good
Bro what about vault studio monitors???
The Mackies have a terrible design fault with the LR switch block on the back, I've pulled them apart and it's almost impossible to repair at home, they ultimately fail. I've had to throw away 2 x pairs due to this. Now I'm using Presonus 3.5s all day every day and they are GREAT!!!
I'm on my 2nd pair of mackie CR3s with the same issue! They still work but it's annoying to toggle the switch back and forth and get it just right for them to work. So I'm looking for a replacement. Thanks for your thoughts.
Which one would you recommend for gaming, watching movies and music?
Mackie, PreSonus for mixing more -it's less flattering.
The Mackies might sound great, but that green border is ugly af IMO! Maybe Shrek would like 'em?!

PreSonus Eris E3.5 vs Edifier MR4
Forgot to turn off my presonus 3.5 for about 24hrs (no audio was being played the blue power light was just on) the next day they stop working and just a ticking sound when switched on. From my understanding the fuse burned out and there's no way of replacing them and not to mention i just pass my warranty deadline. Anyone suggestions?
maybe a defective product?
Electricity jump in your absence most likely. Better use outlet with filter and protection
Good one but you forgot to tell another main deference between these two.Presonus on/off switch is front and Mackie switch is back 😊
can these be used on television?
Nice
I upgraded to the Presonus E5 it is much better.
Owned both. I loved the Mackies but they broke. So I got the Presonus but I found the base sounded really bad, like the deep lows were really loud and oddly painful sounding, even with them turned to minimum bass. I haven't heard the same complaint anywhere so maybe I had faulty speakers
You might be correct. It boost 10db of 100Hz by default which is annoying
I've heard it on my own and I recommend you to set the knob like here: Bass -2db, treble +0.2db
@@vipxpert hey I was planning on buying the presonus...are they good in watching movies?
@@LeOxAdi The Mackie has better sounding by default. The Presonous's knobs cannot give it the same sound quality as Mackie
@@vipxpert the bass is better in mackies right?? I assume you have tried both presonus and mackie
For studio monitoring, sure - Presonus are great. But for listening to music - hell no! There are so many speakers that are so much more enjoyable for music listening than these, because Presonus weren't designed for it.
Thanks, I'm gonna get them because of your post. I want them for monitors, not casual listening. I need a flat response and once I think everything sounds good, I have warfedale speakers going through a hifi amp that I can test final production.
@@meagainokay7673 I heard many nice things about Wharfedale and I would love to hear them in person, but there are none in my country. I still love my T7Vs though.
Exactly. The PreSonus have a flat, and not very flattering sound. They're brutally honest,to get depth in frequencies with mixing.
Are these close monitors speakers meaning you dont need monitor stands to put them on
Yes, you can just have them sitting on your desk 👌🏻
@@EdwardSmithMusic I think they would be good for gaming or just general music listening but to actually mix produce beats I dont know about that
😍😍❤️🤘
Mackie !
Funny how the Mackies connect to you your phone via BT but cannot connect to each other wirelessly. Could be an idea for a new model. Wifi / Bluetooth linking rather than speaker wire.
❤❤❤
Definitely presonus. Presonus is professional studio brand who made Software Presonus studio one, and made audio interfaces, studio mixer, etc. That mackie speakers is still multimedia speaker , not professional studio monitor
Neither of them are suitable for serious work.
Mackie has made monitors and mixers for a LOT longer. But both suck lol. Get some real 8's.
A review from someone with the proper knowledge and equipment to do one and not this 'yo it's yo boy...everything I buy is awesome" hipster.
ua-cam.com/video/FM4jQh45KyM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Erin%27sAudioCorner
Goofy cornballs
Actually the 3.5 Presonus is a reference monitor. Made for comparing mixes not actually mixing.
You should have tossed the bx4 on this roundup
i am a metal guitarist witch one do you think are better for metal
Mackie I think if mostly for exercising
maybe presonus its more clear sound for me
Mackie wins.
Presonus for the win!
Dont the mackies have an awful white noise sound ? Heard its very annoying ??
2:13 $800? 😂
"a" "hundret" "dollars"
clean ya ears
Recomment me which one the best
I have the presonus 4.5 and I'm gonna pair them up with the yamaha hs8... Is this a good idea?
You can just use the Yamaha HS8... no other speakers required haha
@@EdwardSmithMusic I already have the 4.5s though
The presonus is 25 watts whereas the mackie is 50 watts. Doesn’t that make a big difference to the output?
PreSonus No doubt man
Agreed!!
In my country the question is little bit different, based on price tag - Mackie CR4-X or Presonus Eris 3.5? Any thoughts anyone? 🙂
I would still go Presonus
Cr4x has v shape eq, good bass but everything is muddy. Not bad but Its not a speaker you want to use for mixing.
@@henryhudaya6314 Based on my internet investigation I found out the presented sound of CR4Xs slightly better for my ears. My goal isn't music composing or mixing, only listening - multimedia usage. Lack of controls (treble and bass) isn't problem too, I have FOSI Audio usb DAC. But the main issue with CR4Xs I found, is their problem with noise. I found some discussions and user reviews complaining about the noise. Seems to be problem CR4X not the original CR4 with higher quality amplifier.
I know that @Edward Smith didn't notice any noice with CR3X, but with CR4X seems to be a common issue.
Presonus seems to be more reasonable choice for me too.
lol I bought both. Mackie sounds slightly more muffled and died after 1 year.
Which is better for movies and music?
@@LeOxAdi the Mackie was kind of a rip off.
I wish to have that headphones because I have a 10$ Headphones because I I can't afford to buy a expensive one and I hope I win 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Why only a rap test? That doesn’t tell us much
the Mackie's sound a lot worse than the Persons. I just bought the persons and I couldn't be happier
its funny the producer in another video tell the mackies is better for mixing , both speaker weak in bass . personally for beginners both are perfect . if you test it in frequency range drop etc, not by ear you see that the mackie is a bit better . if you do big bass music you need the subwoofer for both speaker.
