  • I remove the carburetor and take it apart, my rebuild kit was very disappointing, I dye my seatbelts and tank strap black.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed you’d get that carburetor fixed one day so it passes the emissions test.

You know what? I was just at my parents, my dad was driving (we did a lil off reading by his house) I was talking about registering it as a collector car like I did with my '03 Cobra and I googled whether or not Hagarty will insure a Suzuki Samurai and it says they will, so that could be problem solved! That would be cool because she runs so good then I wouldn't have to detune it.

@@FixLife119 I have my 88 Samurai registered as a "classic rod" here in Las Vegas because my Weber failed emissions too. I insure mine with Hagerty. I set the value at $5000 and my policy was around $440 for 1 year of coverage.

Smart thinking! Are there any usage limitations registering it as a collectors car, like maximum annual milage or alike?

Holy f, things are so much cheaper for you guys 😂. First the petrol (gas) ..now insurance. I have my LJ insured by a boutique classic car insurer here , pay about $800 a year for about $8k comprehensive cover(will be increased when I finish the project) . Don't even wanna say what I have to pay for my AMG 😢

@@BorisEkner I think there is possibly. I remember it being no factor on my '03 Cobra, because the max milage was more than I even put on my Jeep per year (2-3k). But I had work vehicles for 20+ years so didn't drive my own much. I believe they did say it had to be stored in an enclosed garage or pole barn, but they never checked or anything. Hagarty really is great insurance and it wasn't even that much. I think I paid like $750/year and that car was worth $40k, 500hp to the wheels. Usually insurance on something high performance is crazy. Not only did Hagarty do full coverage, they also covered up to like $4k in spare parts and roadside assistance etc. I have a feeling they don't pay out alot of claims because they only insure the types of cars that are people's pride and joy, that's why I was a little shocked that Google said they'd cover the Samurai. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
