Super lucky! Maybe I'm smelling the carb itself. There's no leaks right now. I'm super sensitive to that gas smell so idk.
I used silicone on the gaps under my hood and still holding after 6 months and 4000kms...and we get the same heat here in Southern Spain,35-45 degrees all summer.
Yes sir, I'm not too worried about the heat. Silicone doesn't really melt. It eventually ignites but I've heard it's good till between 500-1300°C depending on the kind. At 200-300C it'll start losing its elastic properties but it won't melt. That's plenty good for a Sammy hood lol.
urethane is what i used on hood go to glass shop and if tube has been open they will most likely give it to you
Didnt know that about the glass shops, thanks for the tip. I was just using what I had. I have no doubt the silicone will hold, but the urethane would have looked better being black. The silicone is supposed to dry clear so I figured it would end up looking black. One of the 2 tubes dried cloudy, so that sucks. I'll prob have to carve it out and use the one that is clear. I try to do things 3 or 4 times for good measure lol. Thanks again.
