- It's back! Last year we looked at my new favourite way of ranking prospects. With so many rookies cracking last year's lineup, this year's pyramid looks a lot different. What do you think?
Matthews has fallen from #1 to completely off the pyramid this year. He's a bust ;)
Matthews is a bust
"soshikov" im dying
I like Kapanen with Liljegren on the second tier, I believe he's proven himself in the playoffs, and even though he isn't going to make the team (100% healthy) that doesn't mean he's not NHL capable, he isn't a Marner or Nylander this year or maybe not even next year, but he will be, and that is the point of prospects, future talent.
Liljegren is more like a Torey Krug and a more skilled Matt Dumba than Erik Karlsson
A little too excited writing the title, Steve?
"Just because you're playing in the NHL does not necessarily make you an NHL player"
Do you think the Goat is 5th tier only because he got slowed down because of injury? He was making great strides (pun intended) before that Goon ran into him !!
steve, is it true that you chose your prom date with the same pyramid technique
korostelev is not a leafs prospect anymore, he was free agent invite to the rookie camp and nothing else, leafs passed on him. You also missed the college players.
What happened to the "M" in Matthews?
Never clicked on a video as fast as this one
I love these pyramid videos so much. Definitely needed this after the weekend I had
I watched the whole ad without skipping.... anything for my mans Steve!
Real solid. Maybe Kapanen in tier 2, Nielsen in tier 3 and Brooks down in tier 4, but that's it. Good job Steve.
This looks pretty bang on. Your Tier 1 is a guy you can pretty much bank on being your $10M contract guy. And you only need 1-2 per generation, so it's no big if if it's empty for a few years. Tier 3 gets dicey because you're balancing experience in pros with skill set. For me, skill set has to play a big role to be in this tier. There has to be something really special about you to believe you can make an impact. For that reason guys like Kappy, Bracco and Dermott fit. Despite the results, I'm unsure about a guy like Brooks for example. Feels like he's there because we're cheering for the dude and we need some prospects at C to be successful. What do you see in his skill set that could potentially open eyes in the NHL? (e.g. speed, great hands, vision etc)
Great video Steve! Funny thing is i know more about the Leafs prospects because of your video's and podcast, then my own team the Sharks lol
very cool concept and i loved your explanation! great video
he remembered to lean forward far enough that hes not just a floating head, good work steven
Great job Steve! I forecast guys like kapanen and bracco taking jobs from jvr and bozak as we find a way to shift those two players away and add a defensive asset. That or just wait on drew doughty to become a leaf in a few years.
