I’m ready to be hurt again
Right there with ya. Can’t wait to get traumatized by this team for the 5831st time 😊
Look on the bright side, you guys didn’t have to listen to your favorite team, the team that just broke the NHL regular season points record, lose in a game 7 and lose their best player to retirement on the day after your birthday while you were feeling like you had a million shards of glass on cutting your throat. It’s specific because it happened to me. Last year. Man, hockey’s cruel.
@@NathanJakobMichaelThomas i mean at least you guys have had success over the past 15 years. Ik last year was terrible for y’all, but you can be happy about the 2011 cup run and the 2019 finals run (even tho it ended in a loss). I still think you guys can be a force, you still have a good offense, a great defence, and probably the best goalie tandem in the league.
There’s a reason why it’s the hardest trophy to win in all team sports, 16 bloody wins, and yeh the pain I’ve felt it for 45 years and counting but will all that pain IF Leafs can get a cup in next 5 years all that pain & trolling comments will make it taste all that much sweeter 🤤 GLG!
@@BiasedSportsFanat least you have 3 cup wins during the Era of games being broadcast in colour.
Good job Steve, appreciate all the hard work you put in for this video.
I just want to say, Rodion, you're gone but never EVER forgotten sir. You will always be that boy looking on the ice with the wonder in his eyes.

Londoner here, Cowan has generated buzz since he was picked. Everyone around here was pumped to see it.
Who cares as he plays for I drink and drive Dale the drunk Hunter

RIP Rodion Amirov
Imagine if Easton makes the 2024 World Junior Ice Hockey team, that would be amazing.
When your a competitive NHL club who drafts late…never apologize for selecting a guy like Easton Cowan.
As a Windsor native, I’ve been to many Spitfire games. The Knights are our arch rivals, who we get to see a lot of. They have a fantastic program there…we’ve seen it year in and year out.
What comes to mind regarding Cowan, is that he actually reminds me a bit of Matt Cooke, who played junior as a Windsor Spitfire - on a team that was not competitive (pre Bougner/Reichal era)
Matt Cooke never needed the team to be good around him, he was a high energy dog, who was seriously puck hungry, fantastic PK specialist, irritating fore checker. He put points up in junior because of a work ethic, and by being a smart positional player. He threw hits on a non stop basis.
I haven’t seen Cowan with the same affinity for hitting as Matt Cooke had, but I swear the shear level of compete that seems to be just more than everyone else is there. And Cowan is not someone I’d like see guarding my point on the PK. And he’s not someone Id like to have chasing me into my end of the rink while retrieving a puck.
My opinion is that as far as Cowan goes, we haven’t seen nothing yet. Because of his qualities, his ceiling for potential is highly malleable, as opposed to fixed.
Guys like him usually wind up being inspirational teammates just by their character in ice. Players like him are always welcome on a team. I’m glad we chose him. 👍🏻
I always love your prospect pyramids, although I personally prefer 6 as a lot of tier 4 guys are better than others in the same tier.
I'd personally have Grebyonkin, Hildeby, Niemela up higher.
I always look forward to this video. Great as always, thanks! Let's go Leafs!
Steve glad to see and hear that you are back can't wait for the season to start
Cowan is really impressing me, could definitely find a way to get up in tier with Knies. But, we will see how he develops
I think he will make the team next year. If not he will be on the Marlies for sure.
Not sure Cowan can play for the Marlies for 2 years due to his age. I believe he has to play for the Leafs or go back to junior.
@@johnsummerhill8323yeah it’s a stupid rule same thing just happened with Shane wright where he needed exemption
@@DaaaaaBears They don't want young kids in the minors as it presents issues with their high school education. Hard enough trying to finish high school while playing junior.
@@johnsummerhill8323 assuming they’re not Forrest Gump you’re done high school at 18
been waiting for this Big PP video, so glad i get to watch it now
Rip Rodion Amirov🙏🏻… would’ve been tier 3 at least:(
love the content Steve! think the prospect pyramid is one of the most interesting things you make. I imagine most of your connections are within the leafs, but throughout the season would love to see these for other teams here and there.
I was wondering what the next vid would be, and this definitely doesn’t disappoint!
Hey steve you forgot to mention the leafs prospect that they invited to camp this year and his name is Keenan Suthers he's 6'8 245lbs by the way and he is a left winger
Hey, I know that Nick Barden guy
i just want to point out is that Ty Voit said at development camp this year that his favourite taylor swift song is 'party in the usa', and i will never forget that. he can score a billion goals next season in the AHL, then get called up to the NHL and get a hat trick every game, and he will forever be known in my mind as 'party in the usa' guy.
Been waiting for this! Let's go! Imma watch this at home
Good to be back. Missed ya Steve
The Leafs should change their theme song to 🎶"What Is Love, Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt Me, no more."🎶 because it sums up the thought process of Leafs fans.
😂😂😂👏👏👏You found the Song‼️Yeah that’s it‼️
Hi Steve, I just subscribed! Please do more videos more frequently, I love this channel. We love your solo videos. We laugh our heads off as your videos are sooo great. Your fans in San Jose, California
Please don’t make us wait four weeks for your next video. 😊😊
Could you please do a Prospect Pyramid for the San Jose Sharks? 🐩🐩
How fast things change. Only 10 days after this Prospect Pyramid, Fraser Minten has passed Easton Cowen.
Are you sure about that
Love the PP steve! The graphics were great this year!
Regarding Grebyonkin:
In Russian there are two similar letters. "е" which is ye or a soft e, and "ё" which is yo. ё is usually simplified to e, because russian speakers know, when to put the two dotts above the e. Alexander Semin was a player, that had the same "problem". So yeah. Grebyonkin is the technically correct transcription
Steve I want u to know how I appreciate ur podcast ,I live out in the country u allowed me to watch all those games I would've missed , and ur the best out there announcing ur a character
Great as always.looking forward to the marlies show.
Did you have a prospect edit this video? he missed a few rough cuts lol.
That aside, I always look forward to the Big PP. Always fun to get an update on what the prospect pool looks like.
@SteveDangle.. Really bot? For me? You shouldn’t have.
Hello Steve great to see ya back
I was a little upset when the Leafs drafted Cowan, as there were still some well known names left on the board. Man has he made me look stupid. Still too early to tell but he’s looking very promising
I had no idea about Cowan….honestly I can’t keep up with all marlies and draft picks…..it just passes by me quickly
Hes never gonna be worth the 28th pick. Solid player, might even end up in the NHL but it was still a horrible pick
As a London Knights fan, you can see why he was picked so high, he's gritty and unafraid to get one on net. Sure he didn't have the best stats, hell I'm amazed Denver Barkey was picked after him, but Cowan is a great player, and an even greater man, and was born in the town I live in now
Until he gets slammed into the ice and concussed for no reason.
@@HunterMagunter If the leafs wanted him we could of traded down. I saw in some projected draft rankings he wasn’t even gonna go in the 2nd. We could of gotten a 3rd round pick for free if we traded down
I’ve been wating for this vids
It would be cool to do a video on the outcome of your prospect pyramids from the past. For ex: how many prospects from tiers 3,4&5 from your first prospect pyramid made the nhl. And if they did not make it to nhl, where are they now?
Love your channel….go kraken … grew up as a leaf fan but lived in Seattle last 30 years…now go to all the kraken games as I’m a kraken fan first and then a leaf fan second…lol
Welcome Steve been too long brother keep those videos coming
This is the most intriguing, highly detailed and cross-referenced Steve Dangle video I ever saw. Go Leafs!
I really hope Timmins makes the team. Even last year he did his job very well most the time
I'd rather have him at this point then lijigren and gio tbh but we will see he could be a definite lock wants gios contract is up and retires after next season
Looked good given his chances, few as they where, last season. I'd say he's been one of the better players this preseason. Granted, most regular roster players are just in the "don't get injured" mindset. Leafs blue line can definitely be cracked, where it is now, and Timmins very well could do it.
Just remember his usage when evaluating. He was most likely to start a face-off in the offensive zone while Holl was most likely to start in the defensive zone. Sometimes people judge two blueliners as equals when they're given two vastly different work loads. Timmons has got to show some strong defensive abilities.
Think of the advertising potential of 'Timmins at Timmies!'
Hi Dangle! It's been months! Good to see you again.
I'll admit as a lightning fan this was a great video. Keep up the great work Steve! Your the only leafs fan I like
Nigga wtf we do to you?
I'm a sens fans but I will defend Cowan with my life
True sensbro
Finally a Sens Fan with sense
Why are sens fans so obsessed with the Leafs?
Great to see ya on my timeline Steve. Looking forward to my Hawks playing your Leafs.
Great video Steve! Would be nice if you were to fill in the names into tier 5 (no need to read over them) just so we see all of whom are in the pipeline
As a fan of The Windsor Spitfires I would suggest you might be underestimating Ty Voit. He had a fantastic season with The Sarnia Sting. He does need time to get bigger but don't sleep on him.
I dont think you can really count Holmberg as a prospect anymore, he played 37 games with the leafs and was the best forward for the marlies in the playoffs. Hes shown in camp so far that he can more than hang, is responsible defnsively, quick feet, good forechecking as well. Id be very surprised if he doesnt end up in the bottom 6 this season, especially considering the cap situation
Hes still a prospect, 37 games isn't nearly enough lol
He might end up being an odd man out.. Knies will make the team, and probably Robertson as well. Holmberg I agree on. It will be whoever has better production wins more battles and races and whoever is willing to get to the dirty places where the puck will bounce..
Scary to think of the leafs blueline in two years. Reilly and….who, exactly? Maybe liljgren if he sticks around and maybe timmins if he works into an nhl regular. After that the cupboards are baaaareeee. Toronto will have to magically sign their way to a competitive blueline to stay playoff bound or else acquire someone via trade and at that point it might need to be a Nylander/marner trade. If not then then sooner to prepare for this problem
Lots of cap space on future years. Worry about the team defence then.
@ericwilliams1845 Rielly, Liljegren, Timmins will all be f/t starters. Niemela and Villeneuve will likely be NHLers by then too. McCabe could still be around then too, as he is only 31.
This is the year!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING
i just want to shout out whoever did the graphics because the leaf veins in the pyramid are a nice, subtle touch.
Keefe is in love with Holmberg having him on the top line while Marners out currently
So excited to learn who's at the top of the PP this year.
GOJHL got mentioned by Steve. for those who don’t know this league is one of the best outside the CHL in canada. they consistently produce OHL/AHL/NHL players and that’s coming from a Jr. B league.
it’s pretty good hockey.
Having watched him in Everett- the Marlies are going to LOVE Jackson Berezowski. Incredible maturity, great battle level, and for his size one of the smartest net-front presences you can find. It'll take time for him to grow and get points, but he plays a pro game. Hope he gets a shot there.
Do another video like this!
Very happy with the inclusion of Nick Barden. Been following him on youtube and in print for a while now, as my window on the Marlies.
well maybe you can convince him to take down his disrespectful video titled RIP RODION AMIROV
I'd love to see a follow up to this video about how the prospects mentioned made out in preseason, since I don't really watch many of the preseason games. But I know fans are pumped about Minten, just not sure why lol
i see the editing department still in pre-season mode too :D
Dangerous drinking game. Take a shot every time Steve says "cup of coffee"
YES FINALLY!! THE BIG PP IS HERE✊✊
Sasha Pastujov had 98 points in total , 79 in 46 with Sarnia - 19 in 14 with Guelph
I'm quite unsure about this, but isn't Bonello on the Marlies? did he get lumped into the everybody else tier... idk I thought he was pretty decent when we (London) went up against him in the OHL.
The only change I'm making would be adding Alex Steeves to the the 3rd tier. And making it a quartet there instead of the trio.
Editor in the preseason too huh lol
lol every time i see steeves in pre-season: _enjoy those 2 games pal, that's all yer gettin_
Knies feels like the old Brian Burke "hey pick the truculent guy" but this time it FINALLY WORKED.
Time to take a big PP! Let's GOOOO!O
Topi, Roni and Pontus should all be in tier 3
for this year i expect tier 2 to be cowan tier 3 to have grebyonkin, minten, niemela, hildeby, danford. good year for leafs prospects, could even argue greb and minten could sniff tier 2
Please keep the original Marlie Minute theme from 2009. Would make it even better
I was kind of mad they picked Cowan at first , I was hoping they would draft maxim strbak since they needed defence but Cowan looks great
We love Minten here in Kamloops
Topi niemela should be tier 3 imo
And it's normal, it's normal
👁👄👁
And it's normal, it's notmal
I was waiting for this comment :’)
Can't wait to see Nick on LFR!
The calm before the storm let's go
All healed up and ready for more pain. Lets get it!
It sure would be awesome if a guy like Dennis HIldeby, Ty Voit or William Villeneuve end up being as good in the NHL as they were as junior players. I think if Nick Robertson can stay healthy and get some top-9 minutes early this season, he'll reward the team with production. I know he's not a 'prospect', but I want to see Bobby McMann make the team as 4F. With Gambrell's concussion, Bobby might just sneak in there. Also, I expect Martin Jones to be claimed by another team when he hits the waiver wire for the purposes of sending him to the Marlies before the NHL season starts. Thanks for the video, Dangle! GLG
First of all, rest in peace, Rodion 💙. How do you feel about Dryden McKay?
OH YEAH, BIG PP TIME!!
One idea might be to split tier 4 into 4a, 4b, 4c with the subgroups being the different types (eg: high ceiling, low floor from the career AHLers). Might help break up that very crowded tier 4
agreed tier 4 is really just guys who could be 3rd liner/2nd pair guys and then a ton of fringe guys. For us though I think most of the players listed all have the high ceilings
The BIG PP is back!
Could you do this for every team or atleast canadian teams?
Niemelä and Hirvonen might surprise you on their first AHL-season and make it up to tier 3 next time. Not stellar offensively but there's room to grow and improve but as all-rounders they really ain't bad.
Niemelä and Kärpät in general suffered and sucked under their returning coach Marjamäki and Topi is lucky to have escaped it by going to the Marlies cause it's looking like another lost season for his old team.
I would've loved to have seen where you would've put Rodion Amirov. Unfortunately life dealt this young man the wrong hand. RIP!
oh man here we go babY!!~ let the hockey begin with Steve!
Are you going to be live tonight
Growlers Minute? I got your covered in Newfoundland.
I got the Providence Bruins and Maine Mariners aka The Baby B's Bulletin and Mariner Minute 🤣
Could you see easton in tear 2 next year?
Like last year steve you do a good job I like you a lot Steve
Just wondering here is Nyes eligible for the Calder this year or does his Playing in the playoffs last year disqualify him? We all know Bedard is taking the Calder this year but it would be interesting to have a leafs rookie in the mix again
Can’t wait to see this Nobody kid hit the ice!
I like it, imo Niemela and Voit both should be in tier 3. Niemela has all the tools to be a top 4 defender, whereas voit I see being a sneakily good late pick who can be an elite 3rd line scorer. As for left off, malinoski although just drafted theirs tons of upside there should be tier 4. Kokkonen is a difficult one. A few years ago he was talked highly like niemela and then fell off a cliff. This is a big season for him to see if he can rebound
I don't know if he'll get games, but I could see Villeneuve getting one of those mid-week off-day call ups to get an NHL practice/a day or two of NHL money as a good job, kid.
I know he's small and whatever, but he's a beast, I would've put Ty Voit in tier 3
Shorter levels of the pyramid is better. Maybe expand 1st level. To include Knies. Can't see it having any value for many years without a Knies.
Steve that stat on Cowan is a avg OHL progresion ...
And their was Steve...at the front of the wagon with a bag of oats....GoBudsGo!😊
