Which of the two has the better point, do you think?
Tbh I think Maya had the better point until she stood on the evidence but that's just me
idk i'll need him to present his badge as evidence again or i won't believe it
Now I want to see Maya pass Law School, just so she can defend herself next time she gets accused of murder.
I personally think they both tie in points (not score). Maya Fey hasn’t gone to Lawyer school and everything, but Wright just does a really bad job at being a Lawyer. He’s just really lucky all the time.
Maya had the better point until she nuked the entire country of turkey
Best point for PW for sure.
I mean, everybody have the same idea of "law" in the PW world. He isn't worse than the prosecutors
Maya technically could be classed as an honorary lawyer
When she’s possessed by Mia that is
She's a lawyer in spirit

@@Djindas by golly, that solves the case!
@@Djindas Judge: Understandable
Find it funny that it technically takes place in the US, but they use japanese lawyer badges lol
@@Djindas that man has infected everything.
How dare Maya disrespect the sacred tradition of immediately shoving your badge into everybody's faces the first time you see them.
As well as the sacred art of pointing your finger dramatically while yelling out “Objection”.
So I wasn't the only one...
"You wanna know how I know that the murderer is guilty?...
...it's becaUSE *I'M A LAAAWWYYEEERR"*
Maybe she did but mornal didnt show it in the video
Sometimes, not even just the first time!
"Nick, I've seen you in court. Are you sure YOU went to law school?" honestly that's a good question
Didn't he have to go twice? Or at least pass the bar exam twice
@@anneewazhere7578 *MAJOR SPOILERS*
Phoenix had to pass the bar exam a second time when a case got him disbarred (he accidentally used forged evidence in a trial), but that's later in the games. This animation is from "Trilogy" era - you can tell by the suit style mostly.
@@DPLoverness Wait a minute! Hold on, take a step back, simmer down right now! Phoenix *FORGED* evidence!? Isn’t that illegal and just unethical!? Isn’t that the crime of fraud or something?
He was in third-year university in 2014 (at age 21) and had his court debut in 2016, so uh, I guess Law is an undergraduate degree in Ace Attorney world? Or he completed Law School in one year? The context of the first AA game seems to suggest he'd been articling for Mia for a while so I think the "Law School is an undergrad degree" theory is more likely.
@@DPLoverness Oh sure, when Manfred von Karma used forged evidence in AAI:PP that was A-OK, but when Nick did the same thing seven years prior to AJAA, people went so far to call it the dark age of the law?
"ooh, how dare the defense use the same underhanded corrupt tricks the prosecution uses, shame shame!" Idiots.
...and Nick has nothing on either Klavier Gavin (who became a prosecutor at seventeen) or Franziska (same, at age fourteen.) That's some RE-caliber highly skilled at young ages shenanigans right there.
Looks like Edgeworth's sass is rubbing off of Phoenix, he is literally doing hand gestures 💀
Everyone knows Edgeworth's famous hand gestures
This voice acting also gave him a hint of a British(?) accent.
Omg your right 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
It’s because he’s fruity.
Edgeworth's ass O.O
Man that Maya burn at the end of the animation.
Would've hit harder if he hadn't saved her sorry butt so many times
That burn was directed at us, the player for our moments of incompetency
@@thehero8573 "her sorry butt" Phoenix wouldn't exist if Maya didn't carry his ass throughout all of his career
@@TheSpiritedFendron what do you mean he wouldn't exist? did she go back in time and ensure his fucking conception?
@@VeryPeeved as a Lawyer. I don't think we get to see him through his conception but okay, whatever floats your clopping
The only part that’s missing is where somehow Phoenix gets in trouble for what Maya did
That's coming I'm sure. Just wait until the trial where they find Maya's shoeprint in the evidence and accuse Phoenix
I mean...she is kinda his responsibility as an aid so he could get in trouble along with her.
Or she could get accused of murder and end up in the detention centre again
@@demonprincess9680 Actually, I think that's how Maya gets arrested for murder and Phoenix has to get her out of it.
@@Rognik Exactly
Edgeworth: From this coroner's report we can tell that the body was trampled post mortem and from this we can conclude...
Phoenix: Sorry! That was us, our bad.
And people say that day, Miles Edgeworth's faith in Phoenix somehow dropped yet another 50% that day.
Does that mean Maya's going to the defendant stand ... how many times is that now?
@@demonprincess9680 Sixth, unless I'm forgetting any.
I read Phoenix's "Sorry!" as a speech bubble
Looks like the autopsy report needs to be...updated?
As always, this is both hilarious and very in character.
There are some hilarious characters in Phoenix Wright.
(The video game, not the lawyer.)
Its the badge, its always the badge
@@timothymclean thanks for the precision
@@timothymclean The lawyer who's in Phoenix Wright has his moments too ;)
Gumshoe: Nice to his own detriment
Phoenix: Needlessly proud of his badge
Maya: Annoying Phoenix on purpose
Checks out
"Are you sure YOU went to law school"
She's been wrongly accused of it so many times before but here we finally see Maya committing a murder
How much you want to bet Wright becomes her Defendant.
@@thesixthkid7689 I say 5 bucks
She got a point tho, 60% of the time Nick is just bluffing his way through things.
Change the 60% to 99.99999999% and its accurate
and it works..... somehow
For the Defense to be right literally like 20 cases in a row, you need to be a Chaotic Good as in a decent system, most of the time the accused is guilty
So for a defense attorney to always be right, it has to be super bullshitty. Which leads to Phoenix Wright!
To be fair she has no right to be talking when he has cleared her of charges *on several occasions.*
For his defence the whole courtroom for some reason is always against him (and against other defence attorneys for some reason)
I love how Phoenix's first point was "Do you have a Badge?"
Man loves to show it off every opportunity he gets after all.
Honestly I’d say that Maya has a solid argument if she weren’t Maya. Like, if she wasn’t at a constant risk of randomly tainting evidence (as seen in exhibit A above) or being framed for accidentally making the Geneva convention the Geneva suggestion the moment Phoenix blinked.
"accidentally making the Geneva convention the Geneva suggestion" THIS IS GOLD 🤣
POV: your name is Maya Fey and you're awaiting your hearing at the Nuremberg Trials because you went to Germany once
Geneva checklist*
THE GENEVA SUGGESTION 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Maya, last time you slipped on a giant banana peel, flew into outer space, and landed in the country of Turkey where your hand landed on a knife that has just been used to stab a dude, followed by you spilling disinfectant on every part of the knife except the part with your fingerprints while also removing the original killer's fingerprints, and there was a court record of you buying airport tickets of going to Turkey at that exact time that you apparently ordered while sleepwalking.
So excuse me if I don't trust you to be unsupervi-
These animations are the epitomy of the ace attorney fandom
Imagine if this guy re-made the anime to not suck, now THAT would be the epitomy of the ace attorney fandom
@@JustASunflowerSeeD I wish, tho that's take absolutely forever
@@jigshawpuzzle yeah that would be a huge project and almost impossible unless you have a big enough team, we can still dream tho
@@JustASunflowerSeeD Were they really that bad? I caught the first season and I didn't hate it at all. There were some changes sure, but it was still the good old absurd Phoenix Wright life.
@@maudlife imo there were, it was just a retelling of the original plot, the characters barely had any emotions and their movements were stiff. The only times where the characters actually acted was inside the courtroom and that was like really cringe? Like when a witness said something that was bad for the defense there was a random gust of wind that threw phoenix to the ground and idk it was really weird. it could have been really cool if it focused on the characters more than the plot.
If literal ghosts of dead victims can be valid witnesses in court I think Maya can be called an honorary lawyer
Don't forget that time a whale was called to the witness stand!
I mean, not literally; she wouldn't fit. But she _was_ accused of murder.
Don’t forget that they literally called a parrot to the witness stand
One of my favorite parts in Ace Attorney is when you're playing Apollo up against Phoenix for Turnabout Revolution. Phoenix seems really smooth and put together until Apollo starts poking serious holes in his argument, then he starts flailing. Proving that Phoenix only seems smart (or dumb) because we can see his inner dialogue.
Also, being on the other side of a come-from-behind bluff? I can see why prosecutors hate defense attorneys so much.
Yeah I love that case
That's not true. Sometimes Phoenix seems dumb because you wanted to see the response to a silly dialogue option.
@@timothymclean I always feel bad making Edgeworth or Apollo or Mia say stupid shit but Wright totally deserves it sometimes. And I think Athena, if she was looking over my shoulder while I played as her, would actually prefer for me to pick the stupid options over the smarter ones.
@@maltheopiahonestly i love some of the responses to the really simple wrong answers, like the judge saying (in response to Phoenix saying that Cindy or whoever was strangled) something like “If you would like to hang yourself you’re welcome to, but not in my courtroom.” Like holy shit lmfao
Reasons why I love the Ace Attorney fandom:
- Mornal and 8edhead's voice acting.
- Paula Peroff's animations.
Edit: I'm so glad around 2300 more people agree with me.
Don't forget 8edhead

@@DrRank Yeah, that’s what I meant lmao. Sometimes I just don’t think about my comments until someone points something out to me
It is my personal canon that Phoenix got his badge from a cereal box and that is why he's so proud of his badge.

Nick's hand animations have me super impressed for reasons I can't explain. But hey, the entire thing is fantastic, so to be expected.
Phoenix: And *SHE* gets to be a lawyer?!

"Do you have a badge" kills me, since phoenix brings it up whenever it's convenient for him, but you can also present your own badge in cases. Not that it does anything in the cases, I just love the thought of him whipping it out like

"The badge does not even need to be real!" -- Furio Tigre, problaly
Goddamn, the animation looks so smooth, and the voice acting sounds so natural. I love these so much
Apparently Phoenix graduated from Law School without knowing how to use evidence, how to object, how to press for information, without knowing what an autopsy report is, and several other things. Truly it is a Dark Age of the Law in Japanifornia.
The sound effects for the characters moving their hands is literal heaven to my ears. Little touches like that are what makes a good animation differ from a fantastic animation.
Please. I need this to become a full series. The animation and the charisma is everything I’ve wanted
I just saw the "we're lawyers" line in the third case and thought exactly that the other day, what a coincidence!

I love these videos so much, the animation is so smooth and the voice acting is amazing just HOW
I want an actual TV show like this
Love how Phoenix prioritizes the importance of the badge over everything else, Imo he would, but just the fact that he did
Considering the first time Phoenix attempted a case without Mia, Maya literally had to remind him to ask the witness questions, I'd say she probably knows more of what she's doing from the 20 minutes of conversation she's had with Mia than Phoenix knows after his entire law school education
Too bad the other 90% of the time is her either adding nothing, being an obstruction, or being framed for murder
I love how Phoenix has to explain that he is the only real lawyer here BEFORE telling Maya that she’s standing on a corpse. He has his priorities straight and I respect that
I absolutely love 8edhead's voice for Maya. It just works.
Someone else said this, but she's kinda like an older version of Mable from Gravity Falls.
@@gamequbb8298 I never watched Gravity Falls so I wouldn't know.
Somehow you managed to capture not only the writing style, but the voice direction of the series. That whole conversation absolutely felt like something from the games, and the voices were PERFECT. This feels like an official AA material. That and your animation is stunningly smooth!

These never fail to cheer me up and make my day. Also I appreciate the investigation theme you used at the beginning of this video, one of the more underrated ones I feel. Excellent work as always!
Now that was a burn of unprecedented magnitude, Maya chill, but also, she has a point, Pheonix being on the ropes on nearly every case we saw do say something.
It is my firm belief that you can't be a real lawyer in the Ace Attorneyverse until you've been involved in a murder case in some other capacity.
A lot of people need to die in Japan so their lawyers can pass the "second BAR".
