*"It's not you again, right?"* No no, he's got a point. When in doubt always go for Maya xD Guess Maya is Nick's goddess of luck, both bad and good luck lol
I thought of the same first i played the 2 games but in the 3rd it's established that it is the other way around. 1- He was sick, and because of that framed for stealing money. But also because of that, he made friends. 2- his girlfriend actually had intention of killing him and also killed the other guy who tried to warn him and accused him of murder. But also because of that he made up his mind to become a defense attorney. 3- His mentor got murdered, her sister is accused of murdering her sister and at the 2nd day he accused of killing his mentor. But also because of that he met Edgeworth and had maya on his side. 4- Maya, his friend, got accused. Again. 5 - Maya, who is like a family for him, got kidnapped and he had to get "not guilty" When the client is guilty (and taking care of pearls while doing these) but also he met Edgeworth who is a 'friend' that choses death for a YEAR. 6 - Maya was at the other side of the bridge, pearls was nowhere to be found, Phoenix jumped of THAT bridge. (I am not gonna explain that bridge, i am tired) but also he survived and just catch a very bad cold. 6.5 - Maya, who he feels like a family of his, got accused of murder of his own mother while she is locked inside the cave. I think Nick is Maya's goddess of luck.
"Make sure they have a tragic backstory and an evil lineage. That way they'll definitely get framed for murder. Sometimes more than once! GET A HOBBY MAYA!"
That implies he prepares at all. I feel like a more accurate version would just go like this: Maya: Do you ever think that we should prepare for a trial in advance? Phoenix, mouth full of ramen: What? Maya, turning back to her own bowl of ramen: Never mind. That being said, this was absolutely amazing.

I mean yeah, he's Wright
Well, he WOULD have been more prepared for The Lost Turnabout, but he got amnesia right before the trial began, so he went in not even knowing his own name.
"It's not you again, is it?"
"No, Phoenix. It's you. You're defending yourself. Again."
I mean you did watch credits? :D

That exhausted mild desperation in “only guilty people can’t tell left from right. A-and-“ is an utter mood lmao
*Presents Attorney Badge*
Phoenix: "Oh yeah its all coming together now"
"Only guilty people can't tell left from right."

Edgeworth : Too bad Wright, your missing autopsy report is OUTDATED

I've been loving all these little AA shorts and I NEED to see a little fan series or something based on these! The funny writing, voice acting that sounds so genuine, and expressive animation all come together just like... chef's kiss
I would absolutely love that
"Chef's kiss" in this context reminds me of Armstrong. Please don't.
prozd did something similar
Paula + Mormon = dream team
Maya being his first guess technically has the highest chance of being correct
I like how you don’t even see Edgeworth’s response, like we know how he would respond.
Personally I choose to believe that this is actually Edgeworth _Telling_ Gumshoe what he imagines Wright's prep work to look like based on his experience in court.
Phoenix is actually doing real prep work/taking notes of possible evidence, but the sheer chaotic nature his Presence brings to a trial makes it seem like he must be doing something incredibly weird for prep.
The most accurate portrayal of what goes on in a Phoenix Wright game.
Honestly i love when people give more character and personality to characters like this
The Ace Attorney Anime is probably up your street as well then. I've watched like 5 episodes and I'm hooked.

Its not great. Much more recommend the actual games.
@@MsMvsc meh, never played the games and it’s better the blue exorcist, dragon ball and attack on Titan just through holding my investment past episode 9.
@@josephchambers2000
Yikes, highly recommend the games still. Anime doesn't have great animation and cuts a lot out.
@@MsMvsc Wouldn't OP have already played the games? I don't get how he'd want to see more personality to a character he's not familiar with. The anime seems like a reasonable recommendation for showing a bit of character to the cast he enjoys.
I LOVE these, they move so well, and are so charming. Nick's declining mental health is so wonderful to watch
No matter how much you prepare or if you've figured out the entire case already. You still have to survive the prosecution's bullshit at the beginning of the case.
Prosecution: "But i have this evidence that disproves your entire train of tought until now"
Me: Didn't we establish that withholding evidence was illegal? like just last case?
Especially when you go up against Manfred von Karma
Maya's "no," at the end there was Peak Voice Acting
The Edgeworths are canonically the only characters able to use logic

"It's not you again, right?"

This is one of my favorite things. Between the humor, the smooth, clear, SO expressive animation, and the voice acting! You voice acting is perfect! The delivery is perfect for the character and the comedic timing and expression and cracks and wobbles in the delivery. I love it. And all fit into 60 seconds. A masterpiece.
Let's talk about the DL-6 Incident! Can we talk about the DL-6 Incident? Please, Maya, I've been dying to talk about the DL-6 Incident with you all day!
'Yani Yogi' this name keeps coming up over and over again. Every day his evidence keeps popping up. Yani Yogi Yani Yogi
*THIS WHOLE BOX IS YANI YOGI*
All right, so I start marching my way down to Yogi's wife, Polly. and I knock on her door and I say, "Pooolly, Pooolly! I gotta talk to you about Yogi!" And when I open the door, what do I find? There's not a single goddamn furniture in that house. There is no Polly. Maya, half the suspects in this case have disappeared. It's a goddamn ghost town.
I didn't know Luigi was in the Ace Attorney games

Here’s your daily reminder that the first Ace Attorney game was made to satirize Japan’s flawed judicial system at the time it was released.
*YESSSSS*
Finally, someone who also keeps it in mind. Seeing it as a satire makes playing the games even more interesting. Especially when you're from Russia where judical system isn't that different from what you're seeing.
EXACTLY YES
This is false. Shu Takumi himself has debunked this, he simply had no idea how legal procedures work and based everything on what vague things he knew through heavily dramatisized telenovelas and the lot.
@@hihey229 Source?
@@cawareyoudoin7379 I can't link my sources cause I get deleted for spam, but look up the 2001 blog entries and some of those earlier interviews. He also states that it upsets him when people make ace attorney out to be some grand statement on the legal system.

Poor Maya, getting the Butz treatment 😂
"Do you at least do you know the name of the victim?" I was expecting Phoenix to say "It's Cinder Block, right?" or something like that.

Phoenix, mouth full of ramen: What?
Maya, turning back to her own bowl of ramen: Never mind.
That being said, this was absolutely amazing.
To be fair to Pheonix
Nealry every trial he gets is on next-day notice or less so its not like he has much time to prepare
