Thank you so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed as it was nice to have some extra fun with the writing and editing. Make sure you check out Bill Wurtz’s “history of Japan” ( ua-cam.com/video/Mh5LY4Mz15o/v-deo.htmlsi=yqE--BMXIOF8FG6l )
and “entire history of the world, I guess” ( ua-cam.com/video/xuCn8ux2gbs/v-deo.htmlsi=CH2ER-4doYlzcDs- ) because those were my inspirations, I’m aware some people are confused about the style. Mind you this wasn’t meant to be an exact recreation of his style and more of a fusion with my style.

According to wikipedia The most common international definition of high-speed rail (speeds above 155 mph (250 km/h) on newly built lines and speeds above 124 mph (200 km/h) on upgraded lines),
The northeast corridor ia technically an upgraded line so im going to count above 124MPH as HSR
Metroliner max speed is 150mph but its operational speed is 120MPH, just falling short of being a HSR, so its a SHSR
The aerotrain design speed is 100mph (youch even a steam engine is faster)
But the operational speed is 80MPH (even some freight engines are faster lmao) so its technically just normal speed
Acela is designed for 200MPH but its operational speed is 150 so it counts as a highspeed train
Edit: i forgot youre talking about the turbotrain and not the aerotrain

I always knew Japan had amazing public transport but, WOW, they REALLY have amazing public transport. I love how just about every station has its own little melody for when the train doors are open, and just how easy it is to go from one place to another. And I've lived in rural US, I have never even touched a train before this, but after a little bit of getting lost like 2 times and fiddling around with google maps, it was very easy to figure out how to get around with the trains; ever since coming back from Japan, I've been fascinated by urban development, and especially how much more accessible cities in other countries are as opposed to the terribly car-centric America

Essentially, we destroyed the North American network from its peak to its almost skeletal form and set the example or allowed them to rot for 11 other networks. Bankruptcy law had recently changed and the easiest way for the train companies to stop providing service for thousands of unprofitable routes was to go into bankruptcy, declare the tracks unusable, and concentrate profits.
