The fact that Henry fell off the table landed on a hardwood floor on his wheels and cracked his chassis frame and still runs is what made him an absolute Legend a real Survivor if you ask me

@@Caden-z5d I know my dad did that the other day and now he’s homeless and free. He also just died the other day from hunger kind of fun at least he’s still alive. Just came over to my house about two weeks ago😊
For one of my other train layouts I got a plastic see through panel that went across the side of the table vertically as a railing. I also used a few homemade hills that works too.
Nah, get a Pug to go with Percy & Jinty! Also, the Bachmann Stanely is an incredible model. You may want to consider getting one, to compare one of Bachmann's latest models, to their earlier ones. Loving to see the progress on this. If you ever need buildings, I'd recommend purchasing Metcalfe's card Kits. They're pretty easy, look good, and are very sturdy upon completion.
id say for the wall you should purchase a bunch of Metcalf retaining wall kits and have them around the layout, you could glue or stick it onto the table to prevent the models falling.
Trust me, do not turn your current jinty into Thomas. It’s a cool idea. But just get another one because if you mess up, you will regret it. (talking from experience, not with model trains, but with Trackmaster trains.)
I’ve been collecting model trains for nearly 2 years now and 90% of my models have been bought second hand. With most issues on models you can generally fix them with regular maintenance. Track also can be an issue, so you have to clean it.
19:01 Personally, you can worry about the blocks later. Because you'd have to lay the ground possibly after you get everything where you'd like it, and avoid having to place the shrubs down... Option B: paint the blocks / add glue, then add shrubs for the easy ways to remove in case you want to remove or add the possibilities of more layout if and when space for extensions are possible. Just my opinion though!
13:05 PLEASE I NEED THE ORIGINAL SONG I NEED IT IVE SEARXHED ON JUSTIN'S UA-cam AND SOUNDCLOUD AND I CANT FIND IT PLEASE JUST PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I ACN FIND IT
1:35 There’s your issue, you bought Triang stock, they’re fine rollers when you lubricate the axles, but the wheel flanges are so tall that they’ll jump along sleepers and derail easier on points, I myself collect Triang stock but I run it all on the track that they were designed to run on Also, there’s nothing wrong with buying cheap models guys, I’ve spent less than £10 on 70 year old models, and they all run brilliantly
Nice video! Something I suggest for your customs, is to prime and sand them. This helps the paint look alot nicer and clean. I know in your previous video you said priming was scary, but trust me, it's not that bad. Sanding down imperfections can help with that for a nicer overall product.
I use a flat brush for painting my trains I advise you to use one and also double coat it when its dry. ^^ also i rlly like ur customize duck looks great
hey, just a quick tip. try and buy models (new or used) from a model retailer. the prices (especially on the thomas ones) are much better than amazon and you’ll have more variety to choose from.
I feel ur pain buying Edward even tho I don't have any model trains (I wanna start tho),I think Edward, duck and toby are the most show accurate models, ofc u want all 3, I want em too
For the barrier, I would advise using a retaining wall facade, and then reinforcing it from behind with some craft wood or something similar. There are dozens of good options for retaining walls in OO scale, and it would fit the aesthetic of the layout well imo Also, I love your Percy custom!
Hey TTTE guy I have a suggestion you can use for your layout you can actually buy some railway brick walls or something or add a tunnel and cover everything up hope that helps😊
Just saying, I know you probably won’t have enough room: but I think you should get another wooden board and use that as an extension, that way, you can add some of the things you also wanted to the set, also you could have multiple stations that you can collect passengers from!
Quick tip: cheap models are only fun if you know how to mend them. I have picked up some genuinely foul models for stupid prices, and got them running nicely (i.e a triang 3 car DMU, which i cleaned and got running well for £15, and a class 37 for the same price which was listed as a nonrunner, but after cleaning the wheels and an oil ran perfectly.). Knowing how to strip down and work on models is a very good skill if you want modelling to be cheap, best advice i’d give is to learn from experience and watching others (i.e that one series on Samstrain’s channel). You’d be surprised how low prices can be for models which are damaged or don’t work. Great video btw!
I really think you should turn your current Jinty into a Thomas, Because You said that this is an expensive hobby, sure if you customise it, it will be Thomas but it will still be a Jinty (MY ADHD IS TAKING CONTROL AGAIN AHHHHH!)
Hey mate, to stop engines taking the tumble, chuck some plywood on the edge and put a backdrop on it, you can either purchase these or print your own photos, so it is how you want it. It makes it seem like there is more layout than there is and keeps your engines safe, win-win! (I've had two or three engines fall off, so I learnt the hard way)
I can't recommend trying to smooth out that gradient between the ez track and the hornby tracks. You'll have lots of derailments there if you don't! Also, I'm not sure what paints you're using, but I recommend getting some Citadel paints. They're not too expensive, and they are good for starting out with custom models 👍. As for the damaged tender loco, you'll figure it out and will be able to fix that in no time, I'm sure. It's definitely worth watching some videos on model locos being repaired and serviced and getting a couple tools to help with that. 👍
