I remember my dad finding the Easter egg when I was a kid and taking a photo of it to show the gaming magazines. I don't know what happened with the gaming magazines but it did make the entertainment section of the local news paper. The games was out for about a week when this happened
Feels more like a flash back to my misspent youth than a trivia list. That first time firing up the game on the PS2, the thrill... the anticipation... the sudden realization you'd rather do drive-bys in a video game than your homework. Good times. 😅 It ain't what it used to be! 🎮🕹️"
It always amazed me how they gave the pole position's 2 meanings but at the same time they had to put race flags in front of the club sign to hide the second meaning because at that time age restrictions in gaming was a whole other deal.
The small details are what really do it for me in Rockstar games, and that's why my favourite thing I learned from this video is that the roller-skaters trip on the grass, haha. That's awesome.
The town itself is prettier in vcs than in vc, there are way more neon lights, theres the ferris wheel in front of your safehouse and the sunsets are gorgeous
Unfortunate that GTA 6 won't be set in the 80's and won't have the same vibrant aesthetic that Vice City brings, but I'm still excited to see it make a return!
Well, the original incarnation of Vice City wasn't in the 80's when it was in GTA 1. I like 80's stuff, but the 80s existed outside of Miami as well and wasn't quite the same elsewhere, seeing more variation on the theme is a nice change. Take Landlord's Super for example.
Yeah it kinda ruins it for me. Vice City is more of an era the iconic 80s and just doesn’t work in todays time and this lame ass Bonnie and Clyde story sounds wack af. I wana build a criminal empire and be a drug lord like Pablo Escobar. But gta died years ago
3:08 nobody saw the stores name "screamin colins guitar" Fun fact: the name of the store is based on phil colins which apeared in the prequel vice city stories as a super star hunted by the forellis
Actually Lazlow Jones is I think the first celebrity to appear in a gta game. Maybe not as well known as Phil Collins but he was there before Phil. He played himself on the radio
Did you know once you have unlocked the police uniform you can walk through/near the military base without being shot at as the army has the same faction tag as the police.
Why don't I remember the Phil Collins missions?!?!? I played THE SHOT outta VC. Also can someone explain #6 to me? I guess I don't have a dirty enough mind lol
You don't need 90 drug collectables, you can get inside the Army base to take the Jet or Tank easily if you walk in wearing a police uniform from the police station and don't touch the army guys in the base until you get in and take it.....just don't take long leaving cause they'll start open firing pretty quickly
Glad you covered this game, tho i've not been interested in GTA since the HD era, I still love going back to Vice City to this day, the 80s is such a crazy era I just wish I could experience in real life.
only makes sense for GTA VI to be back in Vice City i think :) GTA III -> GTA IV Liberty City, GTA:SA -> GTA V San Andreas, GTA:VC -> GTA VI Vice City...
the only big gta i never played... like I had it, but it felt too outdated after GTA SA. having come out at the same time and doing no research, i wasn't sure which came first.. after the clunky weird controls it was obvious. Coming from a RE channel is this very interesting. Fun fact you can kind of play resident evil in gta games lol loads of mods.
It feels as if the hotel was going to be the real Clevelander because in GTA 3 refers Vice City as Miami. Which is kind of odd because Vice City already existed in GTA 1, along with Liberty City and San Andreas (When it was a city instead, based on San Francisco.) Why they seemingly were going to use Miami instead of the already existing Vice City, only to then end up using Vice City I don't know, just use Vice City first.
In the 3D universe the Gta counterparts co-exist with their real life ones(such as Miami being mentioned in 3 and Vice City, and New York being mentioned in the San Andreas radios)
The story, the missions, everything is just so much better in VC. I played GTA5 and there's no comparison. VC is so much better. The visuals is where GTA5 is impressive but story and quality of missions, there is no comparison. VC is best!
Lol was wondering what you were gonna start covering after you ran out of content for RE But still interesting stuff you can learn about other games 👍🏽
Gta vice city is the only gta game where I simply cannot achieve 100%. I do all side missions, collect all collectibles and do whatever else is necessary but all always only end up getting 99%. I've replayed and tried countless times, I've consulted guides for a complete list on what needs to be done, I do everything yet cannot achieve that elusive 100% completion. If anybody out there knows what I'm doing wrong, please feel free to help me out.
i grew up in the early days of videogaming, from the 2600 to the NES, SNES, and PS1, but looking back at this game, i can't believe how janky it looked yet it was considered a great game
My favourite reference was the VCPD Cheetah & the vice squad. The VCPD Cheetah would appear at 3 and more star wanted levels at random driven by the Vice Squad, with characters resembling the Miami Vice cops (no women cops sadly). They also had unique weapons other types of police didnt have. Also their car spawns parked behind the dpwntown police station. Was a great reference to Miami Vice.
"The game that made 90's kids nostalgic about the 80's in the 2000's"
No truer words have been spoken!
It's crazy, that I know more facts about Vice City, than my home town 😂
I remember my dad finding the Easter egg when I was a kid and taking a photo of it to show the gaming magazines. I don't know what happened with the gaming magazines but it did make the entertainment section of the local news paper. The games was out for about a week when this happened
I love this game.
I spend hours driving around and listening to the radio stations.
Pure 1980's vibe.
Rest in Peace, Ray Liotta. Thanks for Bringing Tommy Vercetti to Life.
The suicide worker is related to the worker riot Tommy did in a previous mission. Leaving the guy jobless he commits suicide.
I must say after all this time i didn´t realize one of the stores was named "The Vinyl Countdown".
Feels more like a flash back to my misspent youth than a trivia list.
That first time firing up the game on the PS2, the thrill... the anticipation... the sudden realization you'd rather do drive-bys in a video game than your homework. Good times. 😅
It ain't what it used to be! 🎮🕹️"
Thank u so much kai for this video. Playing GTA VC in the 2000s with no tension and things going on in mind was just a priceless moment we all loved.
It always amazed me how they gave the pole position's 2 meanings but at the same time they had to put race flags in front of the club sign to hide the second meaning because at that time age restrictions in gaming was a whole other deal.
I’m a dancer and the app we use to find work is called “pole position,” 😂.
I remember playing Vice City on my family's old computer during the late 2000s. I was 6 or 7 years old when I played it, and had fun messing around😂
same
me too
Vice City is one of the few moments where the first entry I played DIDN'T end up being my favorite.
What made you go from Resident Evil, to GTA Vice City?
I'm loving this content!!🎉
Resident Evil isn't the only game he plays, you know
Bro isn’t a one-dimensional gamer, ya know. Sure, Resident Evil is his bread and butter. But he has other games in his collection.
Anyone notice that guy get clapped just after he said Pole position? 😂😂😂 2:02
I was hoping I wasn't the only one saw that. 😂😂😂
@@eaglezaruma hahahha!!!
The small details are what really do it for me in Rockstar games, and that's why my favourite thing I learned from this video is that the roller-skaters trip on the grass, haha. That's awesome.
the punch at 41 😂😂😂😂
Unpopular opinion: I like Vice City Stories more than the original VC
The town itself is prettier in vcs than in vc, there are way more neon lights, theres the ferris wheel in front of your safehouse and the sunsets are gorgeous
The limited ability to swim was a nice feature
That's fair. I think VCS is the better game but i perfer VC because of nostalgia
Aside from the ones mentioned above, VCS also has the better melee combat
Nobody gonna mention the empire building feature ?
2:03 That guy just got sucker punched! 😂
Love your videos Kai! Your voice is so soothing, and I love it when you make videos about different games 💜
im ashamed to say but i’m more familiar with Vice city than my own city 😅😂 great stuff as always Kai 😊
I miss printing off gameFAQs guide on paper to find all the hidden packages without any photos or video lol
We already got two games in that era, plus gta 6 is the entire florida, now known as leonida it not just a vice city
That bloody bathroom Easter egg in the VC game, let me just say that Scarface is a whole lot bloodier than that.
Vice city is my favorite place from resident evil
Only channel that’ll ever talk about 2 of my favorite games of all time, GTA, and RESI!!!🔥🔥🔥
3:08 nobody saw the stores name "screamin colins guitar"
Fun fact: the name of the store is based on phil colins which apeared in the prequel vice city stories as a super star hunted by the forellis
Actually Lazlow Jones is I think the first celebrity to appear in a gta game. Maybe not as well known as Phil Collins but he was there before Phil. He played himself on the radio
Yeah, he first appeared in GTA 3. A handful of games before Phil Collins.
Played it even it 1st came out. Still have really found memories of it 😎
Fantastic video, as always, Kai. If possible, I'd love to see a video on Shadow Moses.
Did you know once you have unlocked the police uniform you can walk through/near the military base without being shot at as the army has the same faction tag as the police.
Maaan you should’ve asked me to help you with this, there’s many more facts that a lot of people don’t know but I love it!!🔥💯
Can't believe we got this before 50 Facts About Commander Vincent
i always wondered why they went with tiki statues for hidden packages! 🤔🤔
always remember playing this with Michael Jackson in the background. good times
The twin cupcakes on top of the shop is a reference to A Clockwork Orange.
1:24 not for him but for yourself, as you purchase the car dealership
The cameras in vercetti mansion contains picture from the movie Scarface aswell.
Vice city x ink ribbon is a matchup I hadn't anticipated but fuck yeah!! My fav game :)
Also you can enter the recording studio downtown!
"... a rocket?" hahahaha, you make me laugh, thank you for that 👍
Why don't I remember the Phil Collins missions?!?!? I played THE SHOT outta VC. Also can someone explain #6 to me? I guess I don't have a dirty enough mind lol
Phil collins was in Vice city stories, not in Vice city
You don't need 90 drug collectables, you can get inside the Army base to take the Jet or Tank easily if you walk in wearing a police uniform from the police station and don't touch the army guys in the base until you get in and take it.....just don't take long leaving cause they'll start open firing pretty quickly
BJ Smith is actually Voiced by former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor
I thought I knew everything about Vice City but some of these caught me by surprise
We need to go home to vice city one last time..gta6 here we go
thanks for another cool video, kai ! always a good watch with my coffee ☕️🤙🏾
The greatest GTA of all FACT!
There’s actually 2 instances of the f-word being used. The example you showed and in a song on Wave 103 by the band Romeo Void
Thanks for the hard work on the video on one of my favorites i have alot of good memories with
This is my favorite GTA game of all time!
Same
Whoa, I always thought those hidden packages were green golf club bags 😆
I don't even like GTA all that much, but these are a nice change of pace sometimes..... that and I love lore stuff, so yeah.
This is my favorite GTA
Resident Evil series and GTA Vice City, even more reason why I this content 😍
From resident evil to gta love u 😂🥰
Please make one on other cities too ❤
That Hatian lady used too be gettin Tommy high asl 😂😂😂
wait what?! resident evil mans branching out to other games??? cooool
4:25 There are two F-words in the game. Another one is in the clothes shop in the mall.
Glad you covered this game, tho i've not been interested in GTA since the HD era, I still love going back to Vice City to this day, the 80s is such a crazy era I just wish I could experience in real life.
Well it probably won't be anything like Vice City if you're not in Miami. 80's was fairly different elsewhere. The decade in general is cool though.
We all were Pole Postion customers 😂
Miss Cleo sounds like the Voodoo lady in Monkey Island
You should def make some videos about Dying Light, maybe Harran.
I did not know there was a Venice Beach in Vice city?
only makes sense for GTA VI to be back in Vice City i think :)
GTA III -> GTA IV Liberty City,
GTA:SA -> GTA V San Andreas,
GTA:VC -> GTA VI Vice City...
Great video!
Could you please make a video about GTA London 1969 and 1961?
Who are you and what have you done to Kai!?
Real nice video bro !
3:17 to 3:23 *Watch it doofus* got me 💀💀💀💀
Ink Ribbon: what did I do? Im making facts video \(◎o◎)/
Oooh! San Andreas next!
the only big gta i never played... like I had it, but it felt too outdated after GTA SA. having come out at the same time and doing no research, i wasn't sure which came first.. after the clunky weird controls it was obvious. Coming from a RE channel is this very interesting. Fun fact you can kind of play resident evil in gta games lol loads of mods.
I know for a fact we aren’t going to talk about the npc who just punch another npc 2:02
It feels as if the hotel was going to be the real Clevelander because in GTA 3 refers Vice City as Miami. Oh GTA 80s style nice
Still have the game for ps2. Very fun
Will you do 50 facts on GTA San Andreas too. I really want to know all about that game.
The story, the missions, everything is just so much better in VC. I played GTA5 and there's no comparison. VC is so much better. The visuals is where GTA5 is impressive but story and quality of missions, there is no comparison. VC is best!
Kai goes to Vice City!
🔥🔥🔥
my fictionalized hometown of Miami 🔥
Lol was wondering what you were gonna start covering after you ran out of content for RE
But still interesting stuff you can learn about other games 👍🏽
I do sooo love Vice City!
That moment you realize that a resident evil youtuber makes better gta videos than gta youtubers
I remember that it has some…controversy thing you do…
I got a video suggestion can you do 50 facts about San Andreas?
Yeeeees
We need more Gta facts😂
this is a great video!
You ought to do facts about Liberty City.
Great video
Fact 1: Vice City is the greatest GTA game ever made
The cherry popper ice cream place also had a game breaking bug that screwed up all your saves permanently
It was in the 1st version. When you saved there, it would freeze everytime you loaded the game
Number 12
Wow, you`re amazing.
What Resident Evil game was this in?
Gta vice city is the only gta game where I simply cannot achieve 100%. I do all side missions, collect all collectibles and do whatever else is necessary but all always only end up getting 99%. If anybody out there knows what I'm doing wrong, please feel free to help me out.
4:50 not true, Lazlow has been in the series since the start.
Well, the GTA 3 era games, he weren't in the original games.
do night city cyberpunk
i grew up in the early days of videogaming, from the 2600 to the NES, SNES, and PS1, but looking back at this game, i can't believe how janky it looked yet it was considered a great game
Can you do saints row 2 - Stillwater
My favourite reference was the VCPD Cheetah & the vice squad.
