"Scouting is the primary focus of the Corsair anyways" - Artosis A protoss Scout pilot hears that statement and cries in the corner as nobody loves him :(
@@karpai5427 I've always said that the vision range upgrade for scouts should give them detection. That would give them a very interesting role. Still expensive but you may see them against zerg to snipe burrowed units or clearing mine fields quickly.
@karpai5427 Scouts should have been buffed/reworked a bit but its waaay to late now, the game is set any any change would be heavily opposed. Maybe even a price cost drop would have done it, making it a decision if you want pure air superiority/anti mutalisk or ground harass potential, maybe mixed use skytoss strategies. The design to make the primary requirement of a scout, speed and vision gated behind upgrades was beyond retarded to begin with, but making them baseline would feel off now, after having those upgrades there in the Fleet Beacon for 25 years. Their niche as an anti-capital ship unit while works, is waaay to narrow, they desperately need something but cannot think that could work without a total rework. Maybe a bit more of a damage on their ground attack would have done it to turn them into more capable anti-worker harassers as an alternative to reaver harass? Or make their ground attack deal 2x4 damage, just like how their air attack is 2x14 as they are firing two guns after all? A bit harder scaling on the air upgrades would make air-based protoss builds more viable.
What a beautiful game. Anyone practicing Starcraft - at any level - has much to learn from this. The group of Lurkers coming to rescue the 6 o'clock base at 13:05 being anticipated - and storm-dropped immediately - alone - is just something worth seeing. Amazing skill level by both players - and the strongest one takes the cake. What a spectacle. Thanks for the video from Latvia.
Protoss are used to that and sacrifice the main all the time, preemptively teching up at their other bases, but Zerg aren't in the habit of anticipating the same thing happening to them lol.
such a simple thing, like it's a no brainer you want to do that in SC, but it was executed so surgically and precisely that it was a thing of beauty. Boom, knockout strike from nowhere
Basically infiltrated the tough defensive bottleneck, and then camped up in that super defensive bunker spot against the support defense. Amazing play.
An idea if you're looking to make new/different content: try casting a game from the perspective of one player only. Just so we can see the decisions they make based on the information they obtain from their opponents. It's not something to do all the time, but would be neat to see a game from a Pro's side of things.
I've watched from minute 15 onward but it looked like Rain just came on top in every single battle, at least in terms of trading efficiently. I've never seen that type of consistency against a top-level opponent. Crazy crazy good play!
Rain's play was out of this world. Extremely good everything of course but I found the decision making in particular stood out for me. Consider he doesn't see everything like we do!
Ive only recently been coming and watching these matches for nostalgia sake so I've only watched maybe 10 or 11 games randomly. This is the best one so far!
Incredible. Was really hoping we’d see how many kills were on that last remaining ‘A team’ Reaver. Love arty’s enthusiasm for high tech Protoss units used with deadly efficiency and effectiveness
From the many streams I have seen, this is a rare display of the full Protoss arsenal in action without air units. It is very rare to see high templar/reaver/archon/dragoon/zealot mix. They cover each other's asses against the possible zerg counter units and play really well. Maybe some scourge/mutalisk mix could have helped against those reavers, but otherwise it is almost unbreakable army. Well done!
Took a break from this channel during and after ASL but so nice to have a backlog of games to catch up on. Tts makes the stream impossible to watch so these are great
All was fine until Rain wanted to kill the tech. It was such an opportunity for Calm: just plant main tech buildings in bottom right, trap Rains units when going down the ramp, sunken-up and exhaust the protoss... And he just face smashed into reaver/storm with hydra/lurker. Calm invested into defilers and Rain's army was defiler-proof. Zerg can always tech switch into mutas just to drop the amount of storms, but he didn't even have scourge for shuttle/reaver. A very bizarre ending especially when Calm had 2k gas and min. in the bank, but couldn't cycle units, because he didnt anticipate a loss of a hydra den, omfg.
Zerg choked so hard toward the end. Not building backup tech, wasting so many units through the choke after it was breached, not building sunkens with all the extra minerals... It was painful to watch.
Great content, since I found your channel, really enjoying it every day. There are probably other players like me who haven't played since SC and Q2 were popular. I would appreciate it if you could make a game play guide for the different races. Based on the experience you have. Good luck with the channel!
Rain is eight years ago Flash! Weird comparison to make, but the way this three games serie went, not that outlandish. The 6 o'clock base was indeed pivotal, but Calm defending his income more than his tech gave Rain the opening necessary to deal crippling damage and win the game. Calm will definetly be defending his tech more closely from now on I bet. P.S. description says Dark Origin for the map, but it's actually Retro.
How specific should recommendations be? "This game is cool -- it has an interesting scenario" vs "this game is cool -- such an interesting lategame scenario" vs "this game is cool -- I've never someone successfully switch into marines against lategame carrier reaver"
I remember some old interviews about Nada being so talented at BW that he didn't to practice as much as the rest and still dominated them. Rain feels kind of like this, I think.
I want more TvT’s… I wanna watch more Fantasy games, Flash of course! Let’s if he’s still playing, iLoveOovee if he still plays as well… wonder what ever happened to Baby? FBH if he’s still playing… Stork games never get old… Savior, JD, GGPlay oh and Hyuk!!!
Man... This whole time I thought Archons were useless. Thought they were just oversized units that exist to be killed by hydralisks but, MAN. They really are a good late game unit~.
Monster game… I got a feeling that Calm could’ve destroyed the Rain’s third when Rain mobilized all his forces in between the natural and his 4th. Idk if he read that wrong or what but his inaction probably caused him the game. He’s still one of the best Zerg tho. But Rain is a beast indeed.
Awesome game, loved the way Rain plays lategame PVZ, if only Mini could play lategame like this he might have beaten Soulkey last ASL. BTW is Artosis rooting hard for Rain during this cast or do I just feel that way because I was rooting hard for Rain?
it just comes down to the fact that zerg really has no answers to reavers + archons late game. no matter how well Calm was doing, not even defilers can zerg from late game toss
Such a beautiful game. I lack words to describe it, If any, its proof the best strategist on the world are not on the pentagon or directing billionaire companies. They just playing endlessly games like Starcraft Broodwar
"Scouting is the primary focus of the Corsair anyways" - Artosis

Imagine if Scout had the speed of vulture.
That would be the best unit in the game.

@@sagacity1071 Maybe, but observers already do that and they are better at it in every way other than movement speed.
Merci beaucoup pour ces belles parties! Love from Québec!

Juking Zerg to move units from one base to another to get favorable ambushes is basic concept in PvZ.
Attacking the main base and destroying everything was genius
Protoss are used to that and sacrifice the main all the time, preemptively teching up at their other bases, but Zerg aren't in the habit of anticipating the same thing happening to them lol.
I thought this was a troll comment
Here from the very begining of the video, i just wanted to say thats usually what you want to say
such a simple thing, like it's a no brainer you want to do that in SC, but it was executed so surgically and precisely that it was a thing of beauty. Boom, knockout strike from nowhere
1:37 XD
😜
Rain’s micro on the reaver/shuttle was fantastic
It’s wild to me that the Zerg didn’t instantly build tech buildings as he saw the Hive was guaranteed to die
Holy frijoles. The A-team moving in on the main was spectacular. What a play. And the micro was just impeccable.

I could replay this entire cast over and over! My brain is still trying to decompress everything. Incredible cast Artosis! THANK YOU
Great cast, great game. May well be the most entertaining ZvP I've ever seen
I've watched from minute 15 onward but it looked like Rain just came on top in every single battle, at least in terms of trading efficiently. I've never seen that type of consistency against a top-level opponent. Crazy crazy good play!
We don’t often see how good a player REALLY is when they are in ASL, so thank you artosis for casting these amazing games! Big fan of Snow & Rain!
Rain's play was out of this world. Extremely good everything of course but I found the decision making in particular stood out for me. Consider he doesn't see everything like we do!

That “HEY GUYS!!” In the first second of this vid is crazy had to rewatch it 10 times. Lol love it
That was amazing to watch. Late game zergs like that are notoriously hard to dismantle, what a heroic play.
Strange how Calm just allowed for that Rain move to happen in the end.
"WHAT AM I EVEN LOOKING AT RIGHT NOW?"
In a word? Chaos.
wow that was like top 3 games ever casted. really good one to watch! keep the content flowing!
I wonder how many kills that last reaver had... gotta be tons
Podcasting these on my way home from work hits different

Wow I keep saying this but what an amazing game!! It was so cool watching Rains reavers and archons blowing up so many zerg units
I love watching Rain play. Thanks for casting.
These Protoss games have been nuts, LOLed several times while watching
That game was a wild ride. Stupidly good series of games between these two. I guess Calm had to take a break after this one xD
Another magnificent game! Very strong defense and decision-making from the Protoss.
27:00 the true defenders of Aiur
That engagement could unironically be recorded for a box art or teaser video. These casts are such a treat.
Just getting a den up before then pool is destroyed would've given him SO much value.
Watching this channel and the main arty channel makes it seems it's two entirely different personalities
I love that you're casting high level pro games now, I always wondered why you didn't before.
this was juicy! so much fun to watch protoss use its full array of ground units, and to such an effective degree!
This was an extremely good game. Wow
Another great game - what an excellent ladder 'series' this was.
Took a break from this channel during and after ASL but so nice to have a backlog of games to catch up on. Tts makes the stream impossible to watch so these are great
This game was on top of the world!
Much love from Argentina 🇦🇷
Awesome game, thanks for finding and casting these. Fun to watch with my morning coffee
What a fantastic series, all of 3 games
The killing blow at the end was amazing
Love this Artosis aka Dan the Man! Commentary is the best by Tasteless and Artosis!
the timing of the push was perfect, 60s later the attack would have failed, Calm was ready to macro up like crazy
Absolutely brilliant play
that was an amazing play, good to see a protoss making use of archons, they are handy against zerg.
These three games have been massive. Enjoyed them a lot!
i'd def like to see more of like "best games all time" or even "most influential" kinda thing.
Rain was channeling Kal on this map with the reavers, love it. The other protosses need to learn how to play like this versus zerg
This match might have been the best I've seen
I love me my happy cloud men
Artosis hitting puberty 00:01
14.48 look at that badlands value position.
i really want to see more games with genius use of d matrix firebats and dark archone

unbelievable game, like watching a triller movie
great cast Arty & that match was fantastic
best PVZ ever. put that one in a textbook.
What an absolutely incredible game!
what a game, thank you Artosis!
also it would be awesome to see some games where the protoss defends a hydra bust with D web.
that was an incredible game

Maaan Rain is just an amazing player. Wish he was playing more often...
Now I see why Arty thinks he is the best protoss in the world, holy crap.
A little bit insane navigation and micro!
I'm shocked Calm didn't remake the defiler mound before the hive fell. I don't know if that would have been enough, but it seems worth a try.
Rain masterclassing the hardest matchup
Reminds me of playing vs CPUs with cheats and discovering archons kick ass and just morphing them all day
Rain is eight years ago Flash! Weird comparison to make, but the way this three games serie went, not that outlandish.

these 3 matches are all well played
I wonder how many kills that reaver at the end had.
22:10 LOL !!! XD WHAT AM I EVEN LOOKING AT RIGHT NOW
It's the whole population of Lurker Town!
Great cast Artosis!

brilliant move by rain
Best series ever
Epic Macro Game, would be nice to see some more games that go beyond a BO win or midgame push.
Some Mini TvP would be great.
My new favorite game
Fucking incredible game.
I remember some old interviews about Nada being so talented at BW that he didn't to practice as much as the rest and still dominated them. Rain feels kind of like this, I think.
hEy GuYS!! at the beginning lol
Reign sent him back to the stone age my god
Sick game. Reavers and shuttles FTW
Yo Rain is INSANE. Looking to see him succeed a lot in ASL 17
I'd love to see some Best PvZ and some Snow PvP.
Man, Corsair into DT every game... Protoss is so fun to watch.

More Rain games!

Rain is unbelievable!
Whooo! Savage match.
Would you consider casting some fastest map games occasionally?
The MF'n A-Team
Man... This whole time I thought Archons were useless. Thought they were just oversized units that exist to be killed by hydralisks but, MAN.

I guess his best bet would have been to go shuttle hunting with scourge during any engagements, but easier said than done.
Such a beautiful game. I lack words to describe it, If any, its proof the best strategist on the world are not on the pentagon or directing billionaire companies. They just playing endlessly games like Starcraft Broodwar
Every time I lose my entire army to an unmicroed reaver and cannon in the campaign im wondering why they arent spammed in PvZ
