Thanks for showcasing the views around North Georgia. Much appreciated is helping to clean up after others. I sincerely appreciate that . I've been on a few of those roads and recognize some of the falls and they are breathtaking. Thanks again!!
Thank you for the awesome compliment. We thoroughly enjoyed that area
Nice example Thank You as well
You are welcome!
I enjoy the way you narrate your trip. In the pictures that you were able to capture are awesome keep up the good work have a wonderful day
Thank you very much for the incredible compliments!
I appreciate you filming where no one else does. 🤗 Michigan
Thank you! We would like to get to Michigan some time
Ahhhh, that trip brings back a bunch of memories for sure. Grew up in that area ( E.TN) and spent a Lot of time in those very mountains. I enjoyed it very much, thanks. See y'all next Adventure. As I always like to say, "Keep on Jeepin"...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for not ruining this with music
Your welcome.
We love your videos and look forward to exploring more of the paths you’ve shown.
Thank you!
Looks like you all had a bunch of fun! Thanks for the wonderful video. As always compelling to watch!
It was. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy watching your video.
Thank you for watching!
Charlies Creek and Richard B Russel Scenic Highway. A beautiful and delightful part of north Georgia. Thanks for sharing!
It was an awesome place for sure! Thanks for watching!
that area is one of my absolute favorite places i've ever been to.
It was really nice!
overlanding in a Jeep Liberty, love seeing it out there. In the process of building one myself
They like theirs's
That looks like so much fun!!!
Those are some nice looking rigs and some amazing looking trails out there! Great video and great job!
Thank you for the incredible compliments!
Awesome video- thanks for sharing!! I am in central NC and just built a new rig. I can’t wait to take it out- this looks like a great area!
Thank you and thanks for watching! Congratulations on your build!
Beautiful country, great video. Thanks for sharing.
Yes it was. Thank you for watching!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks and thank you for watching!
Amazing this was the best video I’ve seen thank you 👍👍
Wow! Thank you very much!!
The street bike crowd area you was in was above Helen GA and that is Richard Russell Parkway, and yes we love that road.
One of my favorite parts of GA for sure. Been going there for fishing, camping, climbing, canoeing since the 70’s. Great place. Sad to see that touristy stuff though.
The food looked really good! You should share details about it, especially that lunch.
I agree with your philosophy. It is all about the JOURNEY, not just the DESTINATION. I like to saver every little thing, not just claim a trophy for most miles travelled.🤠
Thanks for watching! I think the lunch you are referring to is Deb's homemade Potato Soup.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Yes! It looked beautiful and delicious! We need a cooking video!😋
I'll see if if I can get Deb to do one....
As usual another good video, thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
Thank you for the compliment! We are glad you enjoyed it
Wow it is beautiful there! I'm in California and need to get that way one of these days! I just recently got a jeep and am loving it! thanks for the great videos!
Thank you for the compliment! We are planning on coming west later this year
Not far from my neck of the woods. Really enjoy your channel.
Thanks for watching.
Think this is my 2nd video of yours I have watched . Great Narration and Music editing process. Very relaxing.
Thank you for watching!
Great video and narrating. I ride these roads on a motorcycle now but will eventually have a Jeep. Thanks!
Thank you! They would definitely be a blast on a bike
Awesome video, I love the beautiful rivers / creeks and water falls!
Thank you!
Great video as usual. The title caught my eye, we were down that way this past Labor Day Weekend (2022). We went whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River and did a portion of this waterfall scenic loop. The water crossing going to the bigger waterfall in this video looked familiar and then when you got to the spot it looked very familiar, we were at that same waterfall. It was this stretch of gravel road that peaked my interest into overlanding. When we got back home to Kentucky I actually contacted you on IG about some easy trails in Eastern KY to take my F-150. We haven't made it out there yet, but we will. Thanks for the great content.
Small world we live in. I remember talking to you on IG.
I subscribed.
Thanks for your time
🤝
Thank you for subscribing.
Thank you so much, great to get a good look into other parts of the country. I am jealous as I’m Stuck in California with no decent rig right now. My Lord I need to get out more.
Thank you for watching! We are planning on heading west some this year too.
Around 09:30 you make the point about stopping to take in the scenery. It’s such an important thing to say. I’m an adventure rider and do all these roads, but I always try to see as much as I can and travel far, not to mention it’s really uncomfortable walking any distance in adventure/off-road gear, and I know I miss out on a lot by not stopping more. Stopping more seems easier in 4 wheels than it does on 2. I’d love to stop more and do more video & photos. I have an obsession with making progress, but never regret taking the time to stop. I think that’s one of the best advantages to overlanding vs. adventure riding (I’m just using generic terms so hopefully we all understand the same).
Understand completely.
Thank you for sharing again.
Thank you for watching!
Nice video. Keep ‘em coming
Thank you! We will
Thanks. Love the videos
Thank you!
Love the videos, keep them coming
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Love your channel!!!
Thank you!
What a lovely place!!
Yes it is!
Another great video y’all! 👍👍
Thank you!
Great video as always.
Thank you!
Thank you!
I will be finishing up my truck today for me and my son to camp in. I want be able to do a lot of trails because it’s a 2500 Chevrolet, but none the less we may run this route from this video.
Awesome
I completely agree with you at 9:06 💯👍 What’s the point in being out there if you don’t take the time to stop, take a deep breath of that clean mountain air and just enjoy the beauty for a while?
Yes!! Thanks for watching
Great video! Loved seeing places we recognized from our GA Traverse trip this past summer. We had a bald bear visitor at Lake Conasauga on our first night of our trip
Thanks! A bald bear??
@@CoddiwompleOverland haha BLACK bear .....these old eyes and tired fingers strike again haha
LMAO! Yeah, mine get me sometimes too...😂
Would love the know where the river fording and dirt trail are? Visiting Family again in April and might wonder off in the woods. Also, how do you like the STT Pros? Considering them for an upcoming purchase. Any use in snow/ice?
The coordinates for the river crossing that leads to the dirt road is 34° 57.0489' N 83° 33.1553' W. We love the STT Pros! They handled everything that we have thrown at them with greatness.
went to school in this area...miss the beautiful rivers
It is a beautiful area that's for sure
AWESOMENESS!!!
Thank you!
Beautiful video!
Thank you!
Hey! Great video.
Do you happen to have a waypoint or GPS tag for that spot where you camped by the creek with the walking bridge?
34.78633, -83.92478
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thanks!
Looks like you were on part of the Georgia Traverse route. I did that in 2019 and camped at the same spot as you where the wooden walk bridge was. Great trip !
I think part of the SM 1000 the Georgia Traverse do share some of the same trails
Excellent! Love this stuff.
I was out doing Charles creek myself back in October.
Its an awesome area!
@@CoddiwompleOverland
Yes. But my obsession are the San Juan mountains in Colorado. In particular Black Bear pass. I did that last July and will be doing it again this year.
We are going to do 22 days in Utah and Colorado this year with a lot of it in the San Juan's!
@@CoddiwompleOverland
Fantastic!
I'll be out there starting July 21 for at least 3 weeks.
We are heading that way August 11
LOL...I did "forced/road marches" back in the day (80's)..in the area. Miss it, but, don't. Nice to see 30 years on, from stressless, tireless, perspective. No regrets...good training..especially nowadays...
A friend and I are looking over this very route some time in the next several months. Is there a map we could obtain to guide us? We are in the Knoxville, TN. area. Thanks!
You can find the gpx file on the Smoky Mountain1000 Facebook page
Great video!! This is Chas Lynn!
Ohhh. OK. Got ya! Thanks again!!
Airing down improves traction, can help protect tires from puncture, but most importantly it helps protect the trail from excessive or unnecessary erosion.
You are totally correct.
Stoping also gives your rig time to rest and cool.. most people don't realize how much heat gets put into different components like suspension. Heat is what kills.
True. Thanks for watching
Love the content, but could you ad links or info pointing to where the route was? I recognize helton creek falls at the beginning but after that I'm curious.
Thanks, we may look at doing that in the future.
At 12 minutes, what is the song that is playing? Love it! Also love the country you’re touring. On my list.
Thanks for watching. The music is on our editing software, not sure of the name.
Where was the river fording at? Which trail?
Charlie's creek
Charlie's creek
Do they allow ATv's or side by sides on these trails? Is this route marked on Gaia? Looks like a beautiful trip but my F250 diesel would be hard to get down some of those trails.
You have to have a licensed vehicle to do this route. On this particular sentence I didn't see anything that you couldn't do in your 250. Go to Smokey Mountain 1000 FB page to download the gpx file for the route. Thanks for watching!
So, I spent 20 years in North Carolina. And apparently we share the same interests in using Artlist.io. I was watching this video and said "wait, I just used that humming song in my last video" 🤣😄😆
What all did you do to the Jeep to go off roaring? I’m interested in getting a Jeep to do the same!
You can off road a stock jeep! You would be amazed where a stock one will go. All the mods just allows you to go even more places.
It's now 2/14/2022 and we just did Tallulah river and Charlie's creek yesterday. Words and pictures do not describe the Tallulah river. Charlie's creek has been bulldozed up a little, so it's not quite as rough, although still enough to be fun. Would you share where the big falls are located? we're up here a few more days and would like to check it out.
Can you give us a better idea of which falls you would like information on and will get it to you.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thanks. After some searching of falls in the area, I believe that I found it. Keep up the good work, we enjoy your videos.
Glad you found them. If you need anything else, let us know.
I have a few nice garnets i found there and gave a ruby away to a friend.
Thats so cool
Nice Video, looks like you can do this drive in a standard two wheel drive, long as it’s dry, any thoughts
Thanks, yes to most of it. There are s couple places such as Charlie's Creek the required 4wd
Something I have considered before. If there is a tree down over the trail, is it legal to chainsaw it and get it off the trail? Im sure some of it has to do with where you are, but in general what do you do?
We do our part to clear a down tree if it blocks a trail.
Just went to Charlie’s Creek. That is a beautiful drive. What racks are you using to hold your roof top tent? Keep the videos coming!
We are using the Teraflex Nebo roof rack
Looks great
Thank you!
When driving these forest service roads - what air pressure do you air down to? Looking for a softer ride but safe when hitting pavement. Love the video!
It depends a lot on your vehicle and tires. On our 37's that have a thick side wall, on these types of roads we will drop to 20-22 psi. On tires with a lower load range and thinner sidewall like on Alan's red jeep, I would recommend around 25psi. Hope this helps. Thanks for the great compliment!
Great video, what type of roof rack do you have? I want to install a rooftop tent and am looking for which rack to get. Thanks!
Thanks! We use the Teraflex Nebo roof rack
How do you find/plan your route before the trip? I’m 20 minutes south of Knoxville TN and would like to do some trips like this. Just don’t know where to start. Thanks

Brother, very nice video. How do I get those trails?
Smoky Mountain 1,000 Facebook page.
Good video butetifull trails.
Thank you!
Can you send the trails you were on or any maps to show it. Looks like a great casual trip for a Chevy truck also.
It is a great trip. You can find the tracks at Smoky Mountain 1000 Facebook page.
What lockers are you running? (both jeeps).
Also what size tires and lifts? (35" on Orange, 33" on Red?)
Orange jeep has 3.5 Clayton lift,37" tires, Aussie locker in rear and e-locker in front. Red jeep has 2.0 AEV leveling kit, 34" tires and open differentials
How far off of the Charlie's Creek segment did you get back on a forestry road?
I have done Charlie's Creek many times but wasn't aware I was close to a by road that could continue the off road journey. Awesome videos and narration. Thanks and keep em coming!
We got back on a forestry road at Indian Gap Road. (34° 49.5236' N 83° 43.9958' W) We had to hit a few miles of black top between the two. Thank you for watching!
Indian grave gap goes up and ends on trey mountain road. I believe is is closed for the season, Indian gap, that is.
Thanks for the update
Great trip! Can you tell me what road you were on along the Tallulah River near the beginning of the video before you crossed through the river? My son lives not too far from there in South Carolina and one day I'd like to load up my grandkids and go for a drive there.
Thank you! It was Tallulah River Road.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Thank you!

Hey i live in Georgia and was wondering what would be a good trial to start at, I’ve never been off roading in north Georgia I live about 3 hours at most from Tennessee and I wanna plan a 2-3day road trip out there I just don’t know where any good trails are like these. Y’all’s videos are awesome keep up the great work👍
I would recommend starting with the Georgia Traverse or Smokey Mountain 1,000. Both these tracks are on their respective websites. If you need help with anything else just let us know. You can PM us on Facebook, IM us on Instagram or send us an email to contact@coddiwomple-overland.com

How many days was this whole trip? Did you record the route? Would you be willing to share? Looks like a lot of fun. I wanna take the family up there this spring. Thanks for the videos.
It has taken us 10 days so far. We are go I g to finish it the last week of January. It should take another 4-5 days for us to finish. I will put our whole route up on our FB page when we have completed it. Thanks for watching!
Wow, didn't see this one coming
😭😭😭 im so jealous, i dont have the capacity to do a road trip like that.😭😭😭
@Perceval Stoll i have a 4 door wrangler, im in south Florida, only mudding available here, no mountains 😢 for me to go up there, is a big deal. Take me a day just to get up there, time is my enemy.
@Perceval Stoll 😢😢😢😭😭😭
Ah yes. Camp Frank D. Merrill. Was there during mountains phase of ranger school.
Cool
Y'all have some great adventures. Would love to hit the trails with you sometime and learn from you. You were right next door to us in Ooltewah when you got on the interstate in Cleveland. What radio are you running? That is one of the things I know nothing about and haven't decided on yet. Thanks for the great content.
Thank you for the great compliment! We use either FRS,GMRS or HAM depending on who is in the group and what capabilities they have. We are actually coming back to Cleveland next week to continue the SM 1000 up towards I40
@@CoddiwompleOverland That is great! My jeep will be in the shop next week getting the tires, lift, and new rear bumper installed. But maybe coffee next time you are in the area, or if you do a day trip I would love to tag along. I am not really set up for winter overnighters yet, but soon. If you would like to connect on FaceBook my name is James Thomson. Thanks again and looking forward to more of your videos.
Sounds like big plans on your rig. We will look you up on the FB!
Nice jobs guys!! I live in North GA and would love to trail ride on some of those trails. I’ve been up around Blue Ridge trail riding. What map or service do you use to find such incredible trails?
Thanks!
We found some routes on the Smokey Mountain 1000 FB page and the MVUM later on Gaia GPS. Thanks for the great compliment
Great video! Felt like I was on the ride with you guys...what type of camera did you use? Thanks again for sharing your adventure.
Thank you! We used Samsung S9+ phones and a GoPro Hero 7 black for this video
Hey love the video! Will be there in a couple of months coming down from Virgina Overland Expo
Would you happen to be able to share your route you took? GAIA file?
Check out the Smoky Mountain 1,000 on facebook. We do share files, but this route is changed and updated from time to time.
Outstanding as always! Is this still the SM 1000? Or a trip you routed and planned?
Thanks! This is still the SM1000
What tablet do you use for your GPS? I took your recommendation to use Gaia gps, but need suggestions for a good tablet to run it on.
We use a Samsung Tablet E 32gb with its own data connection
That first trail you went on, would you say a stock jt would have any issues?

We have the stock D44 in the rear and a D44 out if a Rubicon in the front.
@@CoddiwompleOverland Okay, thank you. I was curious which 44 you have up front. I want to do the Ultimate 44 crate axle from Dana.
Have you had any transmission issues with your 42rle and what maintenance do you do to your 42rle? My 42rle was replaced before I bought my jeep, and I want to keep the new one alive for as long as possible. Thank you.
When you say.. you don’t know where you were around minute 8.. that’s Hogpen Gap just east of Blood Mountain.
Thanks!
Beautiful country. We need to get back up there soon. And yes. You have to stop and smell the roses. All this bragging about how many miles you did isn't my style.
Wow. So anyone can run these trails ? Wish I had that close to home
Yes, most of them are national forest routes
Nice video.
Thank you
Do you need a permit to camp when overlanding?
That depends on where you are camping. Some public lands may require a permit but must dont. Have an idea of where you are going to be at night and check that particular areas website to see what their rules are about dispersed camping.
what gps app do you use for these trips? are there trip maps in them to download and follow?
We use Gaia GPS. Check out our on how to use it.
Do you have a route map for this trip? Would love to make that a get away!

On the trails in this video, you won't have any issues with your F250. Your biggest issue on tighter trails may be the length. Sounds like you are building a cool rig!
tell me about those tires - what is your thoughts
The Cooper are awesome so far. We have put about 5000 miles on them with no issues at all. Incredible on and off road and surprisingly quiet for an MT!
