    Best two features of this racquet that I like about it is the nimbleness while manuevering, perfect for 1h backhand and the close pattern in the middle reminds me the control of a 18x20 racquet

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 роки тому +7

      You're right, this one is great for 1hb. I wouldn't say it's as controlled as an 18x20 but definitely controlled for a racket of it's kind.

    I bought this racquet 2 weeks ago after accepting I'm not good enough to play with my vcore 95 and need more forgiveness. My consistency has improved substantially and you boys are right it's so versatile and it's great on serves! Great review 👏
    It may not be a spin focused racket but with the right strings and technique you can get a lot of spin on your shots when committing to the shot.

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 роки тому +7

      Yep the Vcore is really demanding hahahhah even Shapo gave up on it 😂😂 Spin is definitely achievable but not it's main strength for sure!

    It is stable at volleys and half volleys. A 70% swing gets my ground strokes deep into enemy territory. It's not as fun to hit with as the vcore 98 but the ezone helps you win points. Can't argue with that.

      You pretty much summed up my experience with it. I kept hitting the ball long because I was used to really swinging at the ball like I do with my vcore.

    I recently switched from the 2018 Babolat Pure Drive Tour Plus, to the 2020 Ezone 98 Plus, and couldn´t be happier. (Disclaimer; i just have a thing for extended lenght racquets). Here is mmy take on the switch: less raw power which somehow makes you able to use more directional power and increases confidence because less balls are going out. Volleys are so much better with the ezone, my backhand now feels feels buttery smooth and precise. Launch angle is lower, which took me some time to adapt, and is not as spin friendly as the babolat. Serves are very good but less power (the babolat pure drive tour plus is just a rocket launcher for serves, best serving racquet i have used) but losing around 3% in serves, for gaining 5% in volleys, backhands and feel (DAMN THAT YONEX FEEL IS AWESOME!) has turned out to be worth it and i find the yonex so much more comfortable. Only dislike on the yonex is that it lacks some stability and plow thorugh, but nothing some lead tape can´t solve. Everybody should try a Yonex, the quality sensation by holding one in your hands is quite noticeable when you compare it to a babolat or a wilson (IMO).

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 роки тому +3

      Agree with you on pretty much everything you've said. I actually prefer the stability of the Ezone on the serves especially if you add some lead to it. Everything else tho, totally with you on that.

Touch shots weren’t great but the racquet all around did everything “decent”. If you want a life changing racquet, try the Tecnifibre TF40 305 18x20 2022. Btw, I'm using Pure Drive (standard version 300gr) and I'm looking for a racket easier on my arm since I'm suffering some shoulder pain. On the other hand, I would like to not lose power in the transition. Any recommendations? (Have looked up Gravity MP, Pro, Tour and Ezone 98)
    PS: My skillevel is somewhat similar to Grisha (agressive heavy hitter with both, forehand and two handed-backhand). I do have 2 Pure Strikes and I have been testing them but still don't find myself connected with those rackets.

    I have 2x DR98s and your review of the 2022 model resonated with my impression of the DR98. I also have the Prostaff 97v13 which feels a little bit more crisp and gives me more spin (higher launch angle) on the forehand (according to my hitting partner). Although the Ezone has more of the 'extension of your arm' feel.

Better stability and feel with the Ezone and better power and spin with the Vcore 98. Depending on what your style of play is, one will fit better than the other.
