Yes that's definitely those three from Madness. Apparently Madness used to hate waiting around all day at TOTP so did anything they could to misbehave. In 81 on assuming they were there for Shut Up, Cardiac Arrest or It Must be Love?

Although often called a ska band (because of their association with 2-Tone), they played a mixture of ska, reggae and pop, and a couple of their songs (on the first album) were almost punk. There were also Latin, African and calypso influences in their music. It really hurts that Ranking Roger has passed away though. But we still have his son Ranking Junior to carry on the good work.

My favourite song by The Beat.... actually my favourite song of all time... a classic !!!
