I've always wanted to see a race between all these electric CUVs. I still feel the ID.4 would do very well.

I would have thought with the Tesla charging curve that falls off a cliff it would show a nice spike very quickly and then reflect the quickly diminishing charge rate. That ID4 charge rate was solid out to 80% with consistently high charging speed with what appears to be a gradual curve downward. My M3 is barely at Bolt top speed at that rate and really is pretty slow from 50%+. I would have thought your chart would show how that spike and drop in rate slow and flattens out sooner. Even a narrowing of the gap toward the end of the charge curve since the ID4 was still showing a pretty solid rate of charge. I don't see that really reflected in the way the chart is presented.

That's a really great observation. It looks this way because the chart is a combination of charging speed along with efficiency and total range. The Model Y is more efficient, so the same charging speed on a Model Y would effectively give you more range when compared to an ID.4. Like you explained, the Model Y jumps out ahead with really quick initial charging, but the lead stops growing after about 20ish minutes and starts to level out. Even though the ID.4 is receiving more kW than the Model Y above 50ish%, the Model Y's better efficiency partially counteracts this. Additionally, the Model Y has more range than the ID.4, so it's at a lower state of charge at any given 70 mph range number. Because it's at a lower SOC, it can accept a bit more power. Ultimately this means the Model Y maintains a solid lead throughout the entire charging session.
That's why I like this chart so much. It can get really complicated trying to compare different vehicles with different ranges and efficiencies, and I think this graphic really shows what's most important.

    What model year is this?
There is a big difference with performance (KW/hp) and efficiency of the car/motor.

It’s a 2023. They should try to test a 2025/2024, since it has more efficient motors and I heard the charging curve is even better on those models compared to the 2023.

In the north east (CT, RI, MA, NY) I have never seen those speeds at EA with an ID4. It appears EA throttles down ID4 "free" charging and that why you see ID4's there forever, while I have seen plenty of other makes/models with pay charging at the same time getting much , much better speeds at EA. I haven't used EVgo CCS chargers yet, but Chargepoint CCS are almost 2x faster than EA.
