- On a cleared visual approach but Flying ILS 27R, I flew through the glide slope twice causing ATC to issue a low altitude alert. Can you see what I did wrong? #airplane #aviation #flying
When the tower has to alert you for low altitude, you know your hand flying skills need serious brushing up.
In most cases true. But this case I was on autopilot and the plane didn’t capture the glide slope. 😘. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Watch that glide slope! Autopilot off and correct by hand flying👍🏻
What plane were you flying?
Where is the runway? I don't see it?
( amateur in ground school)
Scan, scan, scan behind the airplane.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Man, y’all are lucky with autopilots out there.
I only have the option to hand fly IFR 😅
Hand flying approaches is amazing. I try to do it every now and then.
Turn across the glideslope?
Do you mean LOC?
Both 👍
@@FlyinwithBrianwell turning would indicate a LOC overshoot or undershoot.
GS would be a climb or descent through GS
But I gotcha! 🤟
You're very literal... I'm sure that's what makes you an awesome CFI. Thanks for tuning in and paying attention!
What caused the AP to descend even though it’s below GS??
Great question. I wasn't on the localizer yet. I was still a dot or two deflected. The plane isn't going to start descending until its flying the inbound course.

Don’t do that in IMC!
Good idea! And noted.
😂😂😂 you think that's low... 😂😂😂
Well ATC thought it was low. And they're the boss :)
