    I liked the part of the film when the father asks the son at the local Domino’s what would the study of watches entail but a greater capacity for suffering brought on by the understanding of the impermanence of time. Classic Herzog.
    (Great to have you back, Doctor.)

      LOL. Great analysis of Herzog.

    It would be super helpful if you could give your recommendations for similar watches at this price point.

    These watches should be priced by manufactures and sellers accordingly... If people didn't buy them, they eventually would be...

    Supplier: "We have this special crap titanium that is blotchy. You can market it as "vitiligo" or "Neapolitan" titanium."
    Timex: Sold!

    I like what Timex is doing here in general, who would have thought Timex would come out with a watch with auto movement sapphire crystal, 200m water resistance etc That said I decided on the SWC Bunker for a little more money because they use a hard coating on the titanium, has a sellita 200 movement and they went nuts with the a/r coating and lume. Why the hell did you want or expect a lumed crown? thats and example of being hypercritical imo

    • @WatchLab1
      @WatchLab1  Рік тому +2

      I could have used better wording. What I was trying to express was it looks like the crown might have lume but it doesn’t

    "You're short because you're a dwarf"...I laughed for 5 minutes with that one. Looks like a boring watch and definitely a no-go. What's the primary attraction of titanium - the light weight? Entertaining review as usual!

      It's about 15% lighter (maybe more), doesn't rust, and generally more resilient. The scratches are mainly on the surface, but they are more apparent than on SS. It's a good choice for a field watch. It doesn't make as much sense for dive watches, but the weight savings with a titanium bracelet can be substantial.

    How is this not dubbed the Wheel of Fortune watch?

    With that money you can buy so many good watches, much better than this one.
    Timex has stopped trying, it seems they don't care anymore, people buy their junk without complaining just because it's Timex

    • @WatchLab1
      @WatchLab1  Рік тому +2

      Yes, exactly. Slap the timex logo on the watch and add some fancy advertising and you got yourself a lot of sales.

    Good to see you back, Doc. The movement looks like a newer Miyota 8215 with hacking, which is fine, but the $350 price isn't. At least they could be bothered to put in a sapphire crystal. These Timex mechanicals never seem to last long and end up on eBay. Same for the Marlin once people realized they were charged $200+ for an acrylic crystal and a cheap Seagull movement.

      You scared me. Based on your you you comment I thought I had forgotten to I say it was sapphire, but I did. I also put it in the specs. It’s shocking, but timex
      actually used sapphire. Thanks for watching.

      @@WatchLab1 Apologies, I phrased that badly. It was intended to convey my surprise that they used sapphire.

    Way overpriced and poor quality that timepiece, good to see you again Dr Bill.
    I don't like Timex watches at all but they seem to have a cult following for some unfathomable reason.
    Thank you

    • @WatchLab1
      @WatchLab1  Рік тому +3

      Yeah, I don’t understand the cult following as well. Most of the people who were around when they were making good watches are now dead

    why the f*ck do people spend real money on timex crap? if you want a fun analog watch with indiglo for under $100, they’re fine but we all know it’s basically a disposable fashion watch.

    Can't stand timex waches. Just junk. I don't understand why they insist on "retro low quality toyish watches".
    Btw, just my humble opinion, getting monetized is a good thing to pursue and keep up. The channel will live longer.
