I just saw Jennifer Connolly in the Top Gun sequel and she’s also aging naturally. At 54 she looks fantastic. I hate the work other people get done. It looks horrible and says how insecure or vain they are.

I'm so impressed with Jodie Foster. It's not just obvious on The Graham Norton Show, but if you've been following the current season of True Detective, it's clear she's never had work done on her face. What does the title mean she "almost got bitten"?? She GOT BITTEN but almost got mauled!!!
She was a child and the lion had her by the midsection and was doing what a dog does to a toy or smaller animal / Thrashing. Then when he dropped her and she ran the loin ran after her and stopped her with its claws. Thus when she said " put its paws in me " she probably had scars on her stomach, back and sides

Yeah there are laws against stuff like that now. If there are children on set it is strictly prohibited for them to be anywhere near a potentially hazardous situation. Ever since those kids died on set where a helicopter crashed and killed both kids and the afult actor.

"Fight - Flight - Frozen" instinctual response... disappointing that not one of them launched their equipment at the lion. Then again, the trainer / handler was there so better to leave it to the expert to control the lion.
Foster is an amazing person - I'd love to sit down & converse with this fine actor. The fact that the film crew disappeared (plus equipment) is hilarious.... Child snack - no side order ...

Apparently Foster still carries scars from the lion attack, so it seems likely it was a lot scarier even than she describes!
the Kelly Clarkson interview of Jodie's lion story actually made me feel really sad, I don't know how Kelly did it but she made Jodi feel so comfortable that the story was really vulnerable
'scary' is subjective, though.
If she was being shaken but, from her point of view, she thought 'oh.....an earthquake' then she personally might not have been scared.

I met Johnny Whitaker 30 years ago when I started working in the industry. I was using an office at then Virgin Records that Janet Jackson leased out while she was on tour. As I was getting set up, he came in, introduced himself as my IT specialist, and then crawled under my desk to hook up the computer. We started having a very friendly conversation, about how he was a Mormon, how he left the business, etc. I told him I loved A Family Affair with him and Buffy and that my mom had taken my brother and me to see them at a fancy department store event in the Bay Area back in the 70s. He actually blushed and said he thought AA women were so beautiful. Very sweet man.

When I was in my 40’s, I was dealing with a 22 yr old girl who I was having trouble with a didn’t know why. Someone told me “oh you’re ok, it’s just she has a problem with old people” . I wasn’t offended, I was flabbergasted that someone could consider me old then, now ok!😂

FI always knew Jodie had a run in with a lion on the set of that movie, but I guess I never heard the details. Glad to know she wasnt too traumatized by it.
She was only seconds away from death, considering the film crew fled in panic when it happened, if the lion refused to drop her when told to by the tamer, there will be no Jodie Foster and the film shooting would've been abandoned.
Seems trainer-handler is more accurate. Tamer is a term commonly used. This and others stories shows that animals are tame only until they act upon a resurgent feeling from their natural instincts.
The career of Jodie Foster is a lesson, how a level-headed, talented, smart person can thrive in something as evil as the entertainment business, despite starting her career as a toddler. She's is the greatest actor ever.
The lion "with no teeth" was Zamba, owned by an incredible animal trainer named Ralph Helfer. Zamba was a gentle giant who grew up with kids, had a long career of movies, and never a single accident. Too bad he was so old when they shot this movie... He would never have used Judy Foster as a dog toy. 💔
I’m so glad she was OK. The lion turned around to also be surprised by all the commotion and to see the crew running away with their equipment. 😅
Kurt Russell and Jodie Foster are contemporary Hollywood royalty. They transitioned from child star to adult Hollywood star. And transitioned from black and white to color. Their stories are the best if you love film and tv history.

Not to play the devil's advocate here but in the crew's defense, absolutely no regular person [ including everyone in this comment section] would have went up to the lion and tried to save her lol it's not a matter of humanity, your defense mechanism kicks in and rationally it wouldn't be advisable to do so anyway. If it wanted to hurt her, no one would've stopped it.
