How can people say it's a terrible movie? It's one of my favorites now. I just watched it and it blowed my mind. It is really beautiful and so good for sure. Don't let others fool you by saying it's a terrible movie - it was more than beautiful.
It was surprised when I learned this was written by the same person who wrote Twilight. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of interesting thought behind it. Not every day you see the bad guys in a movie have admirable and understandable motives.

***** I respectfully disagree for a number of reasons on Twilight--but the improvements in story design with this movie, this story, then it's obvious the writer has learned from criticisms. And, as a guy with a plaque on his wall that reads "Excellence in Creative Writing", I can confidently say that is what makes an author good. Their ability to learn and improve. Even the best writer will lag into mediocrity if they cannot keep up with new lessons.
Because it might hold some truth...parasites. they like sugar and milk and are affected by the moon. There's so much about the human body that is failing more and more. People getting sick...do a parasite cleans and you'll notice a big difference in your mood and cravings for bad food will go away.
It's weird coz the supposedly bad guys are actually good guys....so you're left feeling weird at the end ...lol so there's actually no bad guys....i should rewatch this lol
I feel the trailer was the main reason it didn't do too well in the box office. They were overselling the romance part when there so much more to this movie… It's a shame because it was really good yet now they are not even considering a sequel due to how horrible it did.

Saoirse was wonderful in this film. She possess such pure energy of innocence that makes the film so lovely. It was how I became a fan of hers.

When I read this book I fell in love! And seeing the rating as a movie breaks me. If only they experienced what was inside the story. This book will change you, it shows you what love is even if you are different. How strong you are and even how low you can become you still come back stronger. the love you have for a loved one, and how much you believe in them! I do recommended this movie, more as a book if you are a reader. But you have to pay attention to the words. It will change your view on everything!💕💕

I loved this movie. I liked that as opposed to other alien invasion movies, not a lot of violence took place. I loved the romance and the ending. Spoiler Alert: I liked that we can all live in harmony and get along, learn from each other and grow as a society together.

This is an amazing movie and the message behind it is absolutely beautiful. I love how the "antagonists" are presented, their reasoning is understandable and almost justifiable if not for our moral and ethical values.
I sometimes wonder if the critics who review these films actually watched them or just copy each other. Sure it's not an all time timeless classic, but no one ever claimed it would be.It is however a really good movie. I like Wanda/Melanie's conflicting personality, I like Jeb, and thought the ending with Mel & Wanda talking to each other before the operation was well shot. Maybe the conflict between Melanie & Wanda could have reached a bigger peak or near breaking point and would maybe have liked a little more input from the Seekers and Soul Lake's character, but it was still a really good film I thought.

My goodness this movie was so great. I haven't cried in like 8 years. If you're in the mood for a tear jerker watch this. Incredible story, cast, and visuals. Trust me this is coming from a guy who hates movies that make you cry. My personal rating for this film is a solid 9.5!!

And that brought enough money that all the negative opinions didn't matter. The tactic is similar to every (casting-show) artist/boyband.

Late comment but, here it goes: I'm not gonna lie, I was shuffling cable channels and this movie was being played, don't remember which channel... I saw it and liked it. It was a fresh change from all those violent, creepy alien monster invasion, "space horror" as some call it, that's the trend in current movies. When it ended, and the closing theme started to play, I was just blown by the music. I didn't know this band called Imagine Dragons back then.
I remember getting this from a DVD rental store back when it released... This was a great movie. I like how it wasn't the typical, bad guys are pure evil and the protags destroy them in the end... I could tell it was made by the person who made twilight, cause of the duo-romance trope, but I didn't mind it at all here. Just got done finished watching it like a minute ago, such nostalgia

How can everyone hate this movie. It's absolutely amazing and I love it so much!!!
I read the book and watched the movie. Personally, I liked the book better. I felt as though the movie left out too many important stuff that was in the book (but isn't that always how it is?). The movie wasn't horrible, but I probably won't be watching it again. I will, however, read the book a million times more, lol. 😄👍🏻

Movies with a positive message do not do as well with today's audience. Too bad, this says more about the audience than the movie.

Late comment but, here it goes: I'm not gonna lie, I was shuffling cable channels and this movie was being played, don't remember which channel... I saw it and liked it. It was a fresh change from all those violent, creepy alien monster invasion, "space horror" as some call it, that's the trend in current movies. When it ended, and the closing theme started to play, I was just blown by the music. I didn't know this band called Imagine Dragons back then.
I really like the storyline of this movie. It opens the minds of viewer to think outside the box.

I remember getting this from a DVD rental store back when it released... This was a great movie. I like how it wasn't the typical, bad guys are pure evil and the protags destroy them in the end... I could tell it was made by the person who made twilight, cause of the duo-romance trope, but I didn't mind it at all here. Just got done finished watching it like a minute ago, such nostalgia

Holy cow! This is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever watched! I was really feeling things! It has a very Avatar-like concept, as well as some Maze Runner similarities. Like a combination of the two mixed together. My gosh! How did it take me more than a decade after its release to finally see this masterpiece! And it's free on Tubi right now!
