For instance women by age constantly call me attractive, if you asked 10 random women and showed them pics of me, I almost guarantee at least 8/10 would say they found me attractive; because that how it’s always been. Yet I don’t find myself attractive, I see flaws in myself that nobody else does, and I strive for perfection. So ugly to me and ugly to another person, are two different things.

A much more believable story would be this one. At age 13(approx. when entering puberty) everyone is subject to three tests. 1. Physical appearance 2. Intelligence 3. Genetic purity Failure of any one requires mandatory sterilization. This would improve the genetic pool in 10~20 generations. I am sure there is a SciFi story in there somewhere.
I remember reading the series years ago while at camp. It was an okay book. It kept me entertained during that time, and my camp friend was roasting the characters 🤣 and said they looked worse after the plastic surgery and they made the girl's face too tight like a frog.

I just had a nose surgery because my deviated septum causes some trouble so they removed stuff and fixed the septum itselfe. Wasnt as bad as I expected it to be but still sucks ass 2 days after and probably will for the next 3 weeks.

I had started reading this horrible book as a member of a book club. Dear God. I can't remember if I even got to the first fourth of the book. Hearing this narration of the whole story, it's hilarious how many moments existed that served zero purpose to the main plot (or to the characters' goals/ exposition of their background story, etc).
