- HII today I'm excited to tell you im like actually finally moving. This has been a long thought process for me and it's finally time to say bye to my apartment. My current apartment has served me so well and given me so many opportunities in weird ways. (it partially started my social media career ;-;) so it's bittersweet. I'm gonna make this process a series and im so excited to share with you all the next place is call home ^_^. MWAHHH

I’m not gonna lie the first apartment is the best it has everything and it looks new super jealous lol my apartment is from the 80’s but it’s very nice and comfortable too I live with my partner 🇯🇵🏳️🌈

@@amakaqueru33 i think this is a beautiful country to visit. Your experience will definitely depend on your job race and gender =) Would still say give it a try.
It depends on your circumstances if you have: no bachelors degree, no locals to help you out (boyfriend/girlfriend), no savings, no skills that are valued, no language skills = it will be very tough.
Japan is an amazing country and it has a lot of things that are missing from other countries (strong cohesive culture, safety, convenience, a reset to your life, etc) but at the same time there're plenty of things that are lacking as well: lack of community in larger cities (unless you join gaijin communities, bars/clubs or sports clubs you will have a hard time finding proper friends, especially if there's a language barrier), lack of job opportunities (unless you have JLPT N2 + bachelors you will be limited in your choice. Some foreign companies may still accept you, but it will be dicey), paper based culture (lots of documents, lots of signing, etc.. Hopefully it will change in the future, but that's what it is right now).

It’s literally the skinniest building I’ve ever seen
My only concern with apartment 2 is that it looks like the top floor of the building and that could result in the same issue you currently have in your apartment, where it gets super hot.
It’s a new apartment, I doubt they would have the same problem

I want to retire in Japan or Thailand, but my budget is $2000 usd a month. I'm 33 and work 2 full time jobs as an accountant and labor. 😅
naur cause why was the second apartment very slay. i think overall youll be able to make each apartment in your own unique way & find a cool way to put who you are on socials w/out being stressed out where you live! rooting for u.

The first apartment is great. The second is beautiful. A nice second choice. The apartment you live in now is super cute, but I would definitely pay more for the little things like closets with doors, washing your clothes inside lol 😂❤

mold doesn't like hot, mold like humid and cool place and dark.
Though sleeping in the hot room isn't good, much better to sleep in the cool place but under the warm blanket.

Super helpful video. Love all the detail you go into. You hit upon a lot of things I might have missed. We are thinking about moving to Japan and initially staying with my mother in law, but i really would like a separate place at the very least for an office and sleeping space. And the mother in law has a washer, but no dryer, which is a pain. I tried talking to a local realtor, but he told me there are no apartments available in my mother in law's town, which is clearly incorrect since I see tons of ads. But i think he just didn't want to deal with a foreigner. My wife is Japanese so next time I will let her handle it and hope they don't ask about me.

My heart breaks for you, the window apartment was so awesome. But congrats on the 2nd choice, it wasn't a bad apartment. I think the moving is cheaper because they aren't in the US where we get overcharged for everything.

Can’t you have your current landlord write you a letter of recommendation to up your chances for the first place you liked? I mean, you’ve lived in your current place and I’m sure that landlord is Japanese and can speak for you on how good a tenant you are.. right?

Why don’t you have a cover that goes over the washing machine so it doesn’t fill up with water.
You need to put a fan that blows out from the loft. That will take the heat out of that area and circulate it with the AC on the whole apartment will be cooler.
