I'm one who will use the Mai Mai until the end of the game. It's really funny to pull up to a gig in it, plus it has one of the smallest turning radiuses. Love it!
Plus it's wedge shape scoops other vehicles out of the way if you collide with them. Legit the best car in the game.
Agreed outside of motorbikes no other vehicle is as good at tearing through traffic jams than the MaiMai.

Lexington destroys mai mai turn radius at higher speeds its also just as manoeuvrable as smaller cars
The Type 66 Javelina tops my personal list. Yes, the Coyote has better top speed and handling, but I vastly prefer the aesthetic and engine sound of the Javelina.
It was a tough one to weigh up for sure. I kept driving them both over the few weeks I made this video and kept changing the ranking based on different experiences. In the end, I concluded it could've gone either of the two ways and went with the faster, less spenny, but equally less badass one
The Coyote isn’t actually faster. The speedometer says it is but it isn’t. Look it up
Yeah, on any nomad playthrough I've done, I go straight for the Javelina as soon as it becomes available, and then it's pretty much the only car I drive.
Honorable mention goes to the Thrax Jefferson for corpo characters: it's a comparatively discreet battering ram, and the horn low-key screams, "you're about to get hit by a freight train."
This is the only car you ever need in the night city. I love it and it was a great upgrade for my character. The only thing which made it better was a custom Wraith's paint job. Thanks to modding.
I disagree that the Coyote has better handling than the Javelina.
The MaiMai is unironically my favorite car out of all of these. For three reasons:
1. I love the adorable little greetings and farewells it gives you whenever you get in or out.
2. I drive first person and it easily has the best windscreen for that since it’s like an actual car’s.
3. It’s so small it’s able to fit in places no other car can.
Delamain LIVES! He shows true sentience, and if you pick up the OG Delamain (purge the "virus") you really get to see this in full force. He's still stupidly analytical about EVERYTHING, but he's doing everything in his power to learn.
I love how much character these cars have. My favorite is the Quadra Type-66 Avenger, it seems to perform better than it's base model, plus the metallic silver finish is gorgeous.
Cars defo got a lot of love in this game! And they seem particularly fond of Mustangs
My favourite is the 640 ts because i think its a reference to Steve mcqueens car in bullitt
it's great but a little hard to steer
I've always thought the quadra avenger was meant to be a John wick reference cause the silver base color with the twin black racing stripes and the fact quadras are cyberpunk muscle cars just make sense to me

THERES A TOP GEAR REFERENCE? WHERE?!
Caliburn is actually quite durable....but if taking vehicle combat survivability into consideration, Aerondight is built like a tank, probably every bit as tough as the beast
Best part about the Caliburn is that you can get it for free at the cave where you fight Nash
It also has just the right slope incline on the hood to let you just kind of plow through most traffic without stopping and the cars just kind of bounce off of you out of the way.
@@ThatCyberpunkGuy Did they get rid of that? Ive played through that part about 2-3 times the past year and it seems to never spawn. I thought they just made it to where you have to buy it since its one of the best cars in the game.

I love the bottom of the list Mahir Supron, it has such a 'Lets go camping' vibe to it that I really like, plus its one of the few cars that doesn't suffer from the EVERYTHING IS WAY TOO BRIGHT AND I CANT SEE ANYTHING bug when driving in first person.
The funny thing is now that I think about it. I wouldn't mind owning one in real life. But my priority there would be self sufficient camping as opposed to speed and power lol
You can get rid of that bug by pressing ALT a few times on PC. Turning off the lights does wonders. Dunno how to do it on the Console. Sorry.
I think they fixed that. I dont understand why cdpr thought the interior reading lights come on with the headlights 🤦♂️
For others looking to buy the Quartz Bandit, it does have the stash ability, it's just in the front, some other cars also have that same front stash

The Rayfield Caliburn is the same way; just for example.
Just want to note, the Type 66 "Jen Rowley" is a reference to the tv show The Dukes of Hazzard and their car the General Lee. That car was a 1969 Dodge Charger, and looking at the Type 66 variants I can see the Charger lines, which do bear a bit of resemblance to the Shelby Mustangs, mostly those indents on the sides (I love cars, don't know a whole lot of technical terminoligy). The Jen shares the same color scheme as the General, even the 01 on the doors and flag on the top, different flag but big whoop IMO.

I forget which version but one of the Thortons is a reference to gone in 60 seconds.
The emphasis on the Mustang instead of the Charger was bugging the shit outta me.

The Avenger is also designed more heavily based on Eleanor from gone in 60 seconds. So i get the mustang comparison but yeah general lee is mopar baby
Galena was the first car I bought since V's starting car gets destroyed in the same garage and I'm pretty sure the designers put it there specifically for that reason. It was also the first car I was messaged about by a fixer on my way to meet Takemura
You can get V's car back later as a side mission.

The Coyote is my go to, if I'm not riding Jackie's Arch. It's just so incredibly good, both on city streets and off road.
The Caliburn is 100% the car I always pick when I just need to get from A-to-B as efficiently as possible. However, driving around in other vehicles is delightful enough that I switch it up for driving shorter distances. Plus, during Claire's final racing mission, I make sure to grab something with windows so she can lean out and shoot.
I selected the Caliburn for that final mission and wondered why she wasn't shooting, only after I noticed that it doesn't have windows.
Caliburn for style, Coyote for more traction and easier driving experience, cool motor for the most efficient transport... it's not even a competition, the motors are super fast, have really good controls and can easily avoid cars at full speed.
It is possible to complete that mission in windowless cars, though. Just follow the quest's instructions and the "revenge ending" will trigger still.

Riddle me this. If your God is so smart and mighty, then why did he allow the snake into his own garden? He blames them and curses them for all eternity because they ate some apple.
Why would anyone believe in that. Even if you believe it's true, why would you EVER worship that kind of God. Satan was right and is the hero of the story.

The LFA being one of my most favourite sounding cars of all time, when I first played cyberpunk and drove the caliburn, that unmistakable sound was surely the first thing I noticed and it fits really, really well.
I'm sure you're already thinking about this, and maybe even already working on it, but I'd love to see an updated list with the new vehicle additions from 2.0/Phantom Liberty! It'd be interesting to see how the rankings might change and how you'd factor in weaponized vs non-weaponized cars. Either way, great and informative video!

Edit: There is a boot on the Caliburn at the front. (I knew that, I just wanted to end the video like a Grand Tour episode by saying 'and on that terrible disappointment')
There's also boots on the front of other cars though which I wasn't aware of, so worth always checking!

I think there are only a few cars without trunks or boots. If it's a rear engine car and it's not at the back always check the front.

My favourite car in this game.
During my first playthrough I picked corpo and didn't really think I would spend my hard earned cash on a vehicle, when I already have two.
During the first quest with Panam, I didn't really like her, but I enjoyed how she and her car looked together. It feels like she and her car really go way back. I thought "Jeez, if only I could have such connection with my own car..."
Later in the game, when I was romancing her and helping Aldecaldos, I felt more and more connected to the nomad lifestyle.
And then I was just casually scrolling past messages about cars... And saw THIS ONE. THE COYOTE.
And something... just snapped inside me. I fell in love with this car instantly. I realised that I really, really need to bury my corporate past, just grab Panam, jump into this thing and drive to the sunset away from this city and never stop.
I purchased the Coyote as soon as I had the money. I was very excited to try it and was worrying that she might appear way worse than I expected.
But when I turned it on, and rushed into the desert... it felt exactly as I imagined. "Until death do us part" - the only line that came to my mind as I was driving. I just went on and on, I didn't want to stop.
Sure, Caliburn may seem better in terms of sheer numbers, but my heart is with the Coyote forever.
I can't describe enough how much I love this car.
Ended up siding with Panam, of course. I just like the idea of she driving her Warhorse and me driving my Coyote alongside the rest of the nomads. It wouldn't be near as cool with Caliburn, for example.
I honestly hate the external look of the Coyote, but the internal look and the amazing handling sold me on the idea that I could use something other than motorcycles to get around Night City
O wanted so badly to get a coyote until i drove the javelina, the incredible stability I have with the javelina tops in my opinion the incredible look of the coyote.
Yeah, the Coyote is great. I mostly prefer bikes, so when I do switch to cars(like for the racing jobs) I find the Caliburn fishtails WAY too much since I'm not used to handling it. The Coyote, though? PERFECT.

Your comment on the Porsche 911 feeling like home... My dad has, for most of my life, owned Porsche 911s, so that actually hits close to home for me in a good way. Seeing a 911 in a game gives me this sense that I'm going to make memories that I'm fond of, and to not worry so much. For some it's just an old car, but for me it's pretty special.
The Columbus (the van) is good for RP-ing as a supplier. I'd craft a bunch of Unique Guns and then sell them to Gun Stores throughout NC and the Badlands

Javelina!! You’re right about how powerful that thing sounds and feels -it’s my Nomad V’s signature car, her dream ride. I remember tearing through the Badlands during a sepia-toned sandstorm while Suffer Me played on the radio and I was so glad I’d saved the eddies to buy it.

I think the Quadra Turbo R is actually a nod to the Lancia Stratos from the rally team Lancia. It was notoriously known for being difficult to handle, having a short wheel base, looking sharp and sleek like older Lambos and Ferraris. And that paint job! Very Stratos like.
I think it is a mixture of the Stratos, the Countach and the F355. It combines the aspects of all 3 cars into one: the handling of the Stratos, the looks of the Countach and the engine (although while being turbocharged) of an F355. It was a car I bought with eddies in the game and never regretted it, such a cool design.

The herrera outlaw is just outright the best car for its price, looks and feel. A super fast luxury 4 door saloon.

Number 9 in your list, the green Quadra Type-66 640 TS seems to be inspired by the Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 movie, Bullitt.
TBH, once I can acquire them, the Quadra Type-66 Javelina and Shion Coyote are my favorite daily drivers, due to their amazing handling and amazing speed. The Rayfield Caliburn goes faster, but those two handle even better in my experience and are a blast to drive. They both place well ahead of Rayfield Aerondlight, which to me feels like more of a status symbol than a every day driver. Just my two eddies :)

I like the offroad Aldecaldos vehicles for going through the Badlands, the Caliburn for going fast and in style, the Aerondight for the references to the Witcher and Arthurian tales, but my favourite is the Quadra V-Tech because it just feels like it's the game from the trailers, especially with the Samurai jacket.
The best badlands vehicles that you aren't able to purchase are all the Wraith vehicles , not only do they preform alot better in the badlands but in the city they arent just overturned better than the avacados clan , each individual model has its own personal decals , but youll always notice some similar phrases or decal to know your driving a Wraith vehicle

As for my favorite car, always found the Little Mule so cute and endearing. It has so much personality. Even if I don't drive it as my main car, I tend to buy it on every play through just because I love it so much.
I just wish the Little Mule kept its wagon status. I love the roofline of the regular Colby.
My two favourites have to be the Type-66 TS and the Quartz Bandit.
The 66 just looks so classy being styled after the Bullitt Mustang with the green and the classic wheels. Then the Bandit looks (and probably handles) like it's right out of the group B era of rally cars with the large rear engine and the classic OZ style rally wheels.
the Bandit is by far my favorite car too not only the sound and looks, the performance and handling is really great too, Truly iconic

Honestly, I’ve sometimes gone none in Body and couldn’t jack cars, I ended up legging it around NC until Panam’s quest to get her vehicle back. It was a good few hours of nonstop running around until I got the Caliburn lol
Also...I just started my 1st playthru of CP2077 a couple weeks ago. To understand the game better and learn about stuff I dont want to miss I've been watching a TON of YT videos on the game (I am very much about finding every little detail, mission, item, lootable, etc). BY FAR you have the best content I've found..there are obviously a lot of wonderful creators currently or moreso a couple of years ago around launch that have put a lot of good stuff out there - but yours is head and shoulders above almost all of it in research, presentation and conclusion. You also do a great job laying out so much detail, Im having the time of my life playing CP2077 and without a lot of things I've learned here I likely would have blown it missing time sensitive content or making incorrect responses. Thanks for all the hard work and hope you continue to grow!
There's a green Outlaw GTS outside Afterlife in the carpark that's unlocked as some sort of free 'grab car' if you need a ride, it doesn't become yours, nor does it always remain where you leave it, but it's a great car to pick up if you're nearby and need one after the Heist mission (when it first starts appearing)

I remember doing so many side quests early on just to get the Shion Coyote. So my early vehicles were that hoopty they give you, Jackie’s bike, and the Shion Coyote.
This is a bit late but just wanted to say that I loved the little reference to Jeremy Clarkson with the "and on that terrible dissapointment" right at the end. Gave me a little chuckle. Felt very appropriate with all the car reviewing.

I’ve got loads of expensive cars in the game but love the Mai Mai as it has great road view, small turning circle & corners well, though my Javlina is my absolute favourite for an all terrain vehicle

I love the Maimai. Yes, it is tiny but that's an advantage since you can take it in places where most other cars just can't fit. The top speed and acceleration are really, really good and, even though the cornering isn't amazing, once you get used to it it's absolutely great. I even won all of the races I could with it. Even got a couple shots of Claire barely fitting next to me and firing out of it which I find hilarious.
Also, it greets you every time you get in and has a nice, older feel to the dash.
The Meimei is my absolute fave. Fun, easy to drive, and it can get through spaces other cars can't.
I guess I'll go ahead and rank my top 15 cars in the game.

(Interior/exterior is amazing. The orange definitely elevates this one to an even higher level. My go-to car for Santo Domingo.)

(It's a Porsche. 'Nuff said)

(My go-to vehicle for the badlands. Listening to "So it Goes" on Morro Rock during a sunset while driving this bad boy in the badlands is one of the greatest experiences I've had in Cyberpunk)

(The matte black and spoiler is everything. My go-to car for the City Center)

The fact that the Rayfield Caliburn uses sounds from a Lexus LFA is in itself a reason for it to be #1
the type 66 is heavily based on the dodge charger. The general lee from the dukes of hazzard was a charger, and i believe the cthulu is based off of dom's charger from the more recent fast and furious movies
I think the Thorton Galena is a reference to the Trabby that was the only accessible car in the DGR/DDR. A cheap car that everyone could afford but you needed to wait three to five years to get one. All in all the low power engine and small space that still allows you to fit everything in remind me just of the Trabby/Trabant
Well it can I think be reminding of many similar vehicles in the past, for me as a person from the postsoviet world it reminds all so much of say Lada/VAZ 2109(Sputnik) - basically all Lada cars were like that in the soviet countries - the only option, sturdy but crude as raw iron, cutting all possible corners and everybody had to wait for those for years in queues, still. This particular model though looks just so much like Galena. Though I guess the look is similar to several cars from the time, of course.

My favorite is the Herrera Outlaw GTS simply for the way it handles; you can pull off 90 degree turns at 90 speed without sliding around.
The Javelina is my favorite for a Nomad playthrough. Caliburn for my Corpo. And Johnny's Porche for the Street Kid. Then either Jackie's Arch or the Kusanagi for the motorcycles of any of them.

Hope they give opinion for customization for vehicles. Weapons installation too like Panam's car. Delamain would be the only one that'd allow us to peak outside the car window to aim and shoot while the vehicle is running since the game doesn't have real companion other than Skippy.
For me Cthulhu is by far my favorite. It’s got great style, good stats and I honestly don’t have much difficulty with turning. And for me it has one of if not the best sounding engine in the game. Everything about it makes it feel like a car you would of seen in a fast and furious movie lol
It is a very cool car tbf. Perhaps I treated it too harshly, though I still placed it fairly high

i agree...94%. I would rank the Porche higher simply because of how much story integration is involved in it AND how smooth a drive it really is AND it's free. It was the first car in the game, at least for me, where I didn't feel like it wanted to fishtail at every turn. Also, I would rank the Javelina higher than the Coyote for its better handling. Other than that, you got it pretty spot on, choom.
Time to update with the new cars! The Hoon is an absolute beast, and it and the new armed category of cars are all pretty cool.
Galena rattler and quarts bandit are my favorite picks out of all cars in game. Out of all the cars we aquire I've had the most fun driving these two. Quadra T66 are next on the list followed by either of the two trucks. Thanks for the content!
The Jen Rowly was the first car I really felt I could get the hang of back on Xbox One and got me through all the races with Claire. Everything faster seemed even more slippery, but I got the timing down for 90 degree e-brake turns with it so it felt like a dream by comparison.
Semi related to vehicles, wish you could romance Claire. She is a brilliant character, very sweet and very vulnerable, and really pretty. At the end of the Gen Rowley's entry you forgot to mention that it is also this setting's nod to The Dukes of Hazzard.
Claire is annoying is voice and motive of revenges is annoying. I save the killer of his husband just to piss him off

Actually, i used to drive in a white calliburn and hack the streets with my cyberdeck. Once you got spotted by enemies, they start shooting at you. It's one of the tankiest in the game, so it will be good in combat too
Oh, and you can access your stash from the front of the car

Strangely enough I think my absolute favorite car, and the one I’d want to own most irl is the Colby Butte. It’s such a slick, practical, and most importantly a believable design that I can honestly see existing irl with the recent surge of interest in mini trucks. The design reminds me of a third gen Camaro or Firebird with its hatchback removed and turned into a truck bed, and set on a 4x4 chassis.
I actually quite like Archer Hella! It's easy to drive and it looks good in clean version (with mods off course). And even though in late game i had almost all other vehicles, i still prefer driving Hella.

Once you started mentioning movies with the Thornton Colby was honestly surprised you didn't mention it was a reference to Gone In 60 Seconds.
I’ve used the Mai Mai and placed first. Its hilarious winning with what’s almost worse than a go-kart. The biggest tips I can give are to spam brake tap and slow on turns, as braking hard on a fast turn sends you spiraling like a Mario kart green shell. Aside from that, also looking behind yourself block passing opponents works well for a speed boost and slowing them down. The biggest boon is breaking ahead of the pack, and having them fight each other.
It's funny but I feel like the Maimai is quite underrated for how nice it is having the porpouse it has. Its like having the perfect hybrid between a car and a bike lol
Still Coyote is my pick always, just wish I didnt had to rely on mods or codes to use the red version without being a douche to Panam XD
Excellent video and quite hilarious. I agree that the Caliburn is too good, unless you're just role-playing there is no reason to not use the Caliburn which is a shame. You made a good suggestion about it blowing up easy once vehicle combat is released, I kind of hope this is the case, it will definitely sway people to use other vehicles. If that becomes the case, the Emperor Ragnar will be my go-to, I love how it sounds, looks, bashes through traffic with ease, it's just too slow to justify those long drives.
Getting my own Private Delamain in my first playthrough was so hilarious to me. Used it every so often to for fun, and the lil interactions while driving were a nice touch.

Definitely a lot of role playing in the lower places of the list. I think it’s interesting, that many of the cars that do show up, are directly related to happenings within Night city. The badlands gelena, as an example being related to the Raffen car you deliver to Dakota. I’ve seen a hold up in act 1 for the Colby, I assume the Mackinaw is Bill Jablosnky’s. Hell, even though it’s shit, I find it hilarious that Reggie messages you about the crap gelena after the heist and the Hella gets banged up.
Post heist V in my games uses the Shion. Nomad V ends with Javenlina (personal preference, the coyote is the best option in general) Corpo, I prefer the Caliburn, especially the bought one. And Streetkid, the Guineviere, to hold a candle to when you met Jack.
Otherwise, again, super excited to see this list! And I’m glad to see you had a lot of fun within the editing and script of this video! So many great jokes and references!
I think that with most of your "cornering" any car other than the caliburn will if you're going that fast, I haven't had that big of a problem with any car. Of course a lot aren't great at it but not as bad as shown in the video.
i hate caliburn oversteering a lot so as soon as i got it i'd just keep using coyote instead

Sometimes I like to get into the Maimai and just mess around, mainly seeing how many small spaces I can squeeze this thing into and drive around for shits and giggles. I honestly love it, it's stupid fun and, like yous aid, it's funny to think of V, such a big and skilled merc just driving this cutesy little 80s Anime Protagonist ride..
When the dlc comes out, will you update this vid? Or do a separate video?
He’s mentioned in other videos that when the dlc comes out he’ll likely have to make new lists, but a cars ranking will likely come out a lot later than stuff like weapon rankings
It depends how much cars get a change up. If there's a tonne more but they don't change much I'll do a phantom liberty edition. If vehicle combat changes everything I may redo them all. But that'll be a very long video...

To be honest, I love the Maimai. You usually don't find this kind of vehicles in games, and that gives it some kind of charm.
If I pick a car, and not in 99% of the time a bike, I will always go for the Quadra Type-66 Javelina. Best car to drive imo.

Javelina was the first car i ever bought on my first playthrough and it will always have a special place in my heart but without fail, i always have to go fetch Caliburn from the cave, Murkman's case is a firm favourite along with the Kusenagi Yaiba
Personally, my favorite is the Javelina. As you said, it handles well, and it is one of the few cars that has the entropism/nomad look without also feeling like it's tied to a particular nomad clan. Plus with vehicle combat coming soon, I suspect that crystaldome is going to be upgraded from cool to borderline necessary.
