You're all wrong they are the same. He was Eggman in Japan. America changed it to robotnik (which in my opinion sounds better and cooler) but it's always been eggman. Well kinda in the beginning he got fused with a giant egg, thus the eggman
I love how Mike Pollock does Boom Eggman differently. Takes out a bit of the growl the game Eggman has and makes him slightly more flamboyant, which perfectly fits the writing for the show.
In my opinion, Mike combines two of my favorite eggman va's. He sounds like the perfect middle. The deepness and evil of Cummings, and the pure open silliness of Baldry.
Mike Pollock is the best match for the "Canonical" Eggman. Classic/Modern. But I think Jim Cumming's voice is perfect for the Sonic SATAM Eggman, or any extremely dark interpretation of Eggman.
Nah. This eggman is supposed to partly a comic relief...it would not fit well to change it to a darker tone. Also, if not for this version of eggman, sonic boom probably wouldn't be nearly as successful

I feel like Mike Pollock is the best one here (I especially love how he puts on a different tone in the Boom franchise compared to the main franchise) but Edwin Neal does a really great Dr. Robotnik impression, he sounds exactly how I think Robotnik would sound in the Classic Sonic Era (also I may or may not have a soft spot for the sonic OVA)
Going for an unpopular opinion, but I think video game wise, Deem Bristow was the best. Hear me out. To me, he manages to create seemingly a fusion between Pollock's and Cummings's version. Comedic, bumbling, and petty, but also commanding, angry, and even a little sinister. Mike is great, don't get me wrong, but if Bristow was still around, i'd always advocate for him to play the role.
I don't know if it was good voice direction, a nice coincidence, or Bristow's own personal touch (probably the latter), but I liked how he used a somewhat sinister, growling voice in a lot of scenes with Tails, whereas he took a more goofy approach from Sonic's perspective. PS: Also: "Getaloadof-Getaloadof-Getaloadofthis!" (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
Deem Bristow was the voice I remember from my time playing most of my favourite Sonic games, but Mike Pollock has the voice that just fits the character so well.
Long John Baldry was one of the most important blues musicians in the sixties and seventies, he was a member of Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated (which featured Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts of Rolling Stones, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker of GBO and Cream) and Bluesology (which featured Elton Dean from Soft Machine and Elton John). But as Eggman evolved over the years Mike Pollock's voice has become more fitting. I dare say they probably built the current Eggman around his voice.
Mike Pollock is the best for typical Sonic, but Jim Cummings slayed in SATM. That particular Eggman was very menacing, and they couldn't have hired anyone more talented than he. I mean, Google the man. He's been in a shitload of different things.
A cool fact about Gary Chalk is that he played a role in Stargate SG-1 (Forgot what his character’s name was except that he was a Colonel in the Russian military and was liaison for them for all matters relating to the Stargate) and was the guy talking about EMPs in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, the guy gets a lot of roles
My ranking: 1. Jim Cummings (The most sinister version of Dr. Robotnik) 2. Deem Bristow (A perfect combination of the comical Eggman and the more sinister Dr. Robotnik) 3. Long John Baldry 4. Mike Pollock (I wasn't crazy about him until I saw Sonic Boom, in which he fits perfectly) 5. Edwin Neal (Probably the most fitting for classic Eggman) 6. Gary Chalk
I really miss Deem Bristow. His deep, booming voice was a great contrast to Eggman's character design. I like Mike Pollock too, but it feels like he's become tired of the role.
I think we're all missing the elephant in the room: WHAT KIND OF A NAME IS "DEEM?" Seriously, though, I too loved his Eggman; especially the way he delivered the line, "Before I make mincemeat out of you..."
Bristow was my childhood (Adventure 2, anyone?). The way he emphasizes every word is... endearing, and I feel his Eggman was the most menacing of the games’ incarnations, even though he kind of started the unfortunate habit of getting Ganon’d by ancient horrors. (He also had the bitchin’-est theme song, IMO. Gotta love “E.G.G.M.A.N.”.) Pollock’s 2003 samples are what I most associate with (more) modern Eggman, though perhaps mostly because I’ve heard him with that voice more than Bristow. He’s also delightfully hammy. (That laugh at 3:38... pure ham.) Between the two, they’re who I most hear when I think of Dr. Eggman in general. … I have no particular preference for _Robotnik,_ though.
Mike Pollock would be my favorite, too... if I played favorites.

I dare say they probably built the current Eggman around his voice.
Long John Baldry takes the cake
I love Mike, but Deem Bristow is so underrated it’s criminal.
Mike Pollock is the best for typical Sonic, but Jim Cummings slayed in SATM. That particular Eggman was very menacing, and they couldn't have hired anyone more talented than he. I mean, Google the man. He's been in a shitload of different things.
0:05 Long John Baldry
0:42 Jim Cummings
1:32 Gary Chalk
3:13 3:46 Mike Pollock
I didn’t think the voice of Pooh Bear could sound so scary.
Mike Pollock is the best voice of Eggman, imo. He brings a a nice balance of evil and comedy for the mad doctor.
Agreed.
Mike I think is a wonderful voice actor for eggman in my opinion
Gary Chalk for Dr. Robotnik, Deem Bristow for Dr. Eggman. Both were pretty legendary voice actors.
My ranking:
1. Jim Cummings (The most sinister version of Dr. Robotnik)
2. Deem Bristow (A perfect combination of the comical Eggman and the more sinister Dr. Robotnik)
3. Long John Baldry
4. Mike Pollock (I wasn't crazy about him until I saw Sonic Boom, in which he fits perfectly)
5. Edwin Neal (Probably the most fitting for classic Eggman)
6. Gary Chalk
Jim, Deem and Mike!
soo much good actors!!
R.I.P. Long John Baldry and Deem Bristow! 😭
The only 4Kids voice actor who is still present up to date.
That original John Baldry voice is so nostalgic! Edwin Neal is very good also. And Mike Pollock is brilliant.

Good Ol' Days
Best: Mike Pollock
Most underrated: Deem Bristow
I really miss Deem Bristow. His deep, booming voice was a great contrast to Eggman's character design. I like Mike Pollock too, but it feels like he's become tired of the role.
I agree, Deem was the best Eggman.
I think we're all missing the elephant in the room: WHAT KIND OF A NAME IS "DEEM?"
Seriously, though, I too loved his Eggman; especially the way he delivered the line, "Before I make mincemeat out of you..."
1.Jim Cummings
2.mike pollock
I think u put them in the wrong order for favorites
1:36 can’t unhear the Optimus primal in that eggman
They all sound like interesting takes and capture a different side of Eggman. But then Mike Pollock speaks and it’s just perfect.
Gotta love “E.G.G.M.A.N.”.)
Pollock’s 2003 samples are what I most associate with (more) modern Eggman, though perhaps mostly because I’ve heard him with that voice more than Bristow. He’s also delightfully hammy. (That laugh at 3:38... pure ham.)
Between the two, they’re who I most hear when I think of Dr. Eggman in general.
… I have no particular preference for _Robotnik,_ though.
