Seeing her past, I don't believe Claire did anything wrong even if it was revenge, her uncle had her family killed and tried to have her killed, he needed to face justice and deserved his punishment.
When you go to claire first and then to sara, Sara says something like i don't like being second the the major lol. What a shame that you can't romance claire. She and Sara are definitely the best girls.
I always had a head canon that Clair (blue) and Sara (red) were the real heroines. I lost my shit, when these 2 are the only ones that kiss rean in canon. Sara's the best btw

I pity Claire but the end of III made me a little sad with her. In the end she did the same thing as her uncle willing to sacrifice lives for something she considered to have more value. The only difference is that she did it for loyalty while her uncle did it for greed.

My most fav female characters so far until ToCS 3 are : 1. Aurelia Le Guin 2. Claire Rieveldt (really like her personality and i always liked a light blue hair and Ice element) 3. Vita Clothilde 4. Maybe Lianne Sandlot (since i dont know her detailed background story atm) It really breaks my heart for us to have to fight her at the final dungeon eventhough i know she have to do it out of her will (we can see her expression afer the fight) because of that bastard, also there a couple others like this too.. But it really relieves me to see her on the trailer of ToCS 4, hope she was going the direction i was hoping for! Btw, i remember there was a dialogue telling that the government would use Le Guin part of the Northern War to scapegoat her, but i forgot the detail of that and was searching for that story on my 2nd playthrough but couldnt find it because i was playing semi turbo mode, might have skipped it.. Fie: "Though they're still hanging on, the provincial armies have been shrinking lately. And if a crisis were to happen now..." Laura: "The government would be able to assert the provincial armies have no merit. Then they would be able to discount the merits of General Aurelia and the others who dirtied their hands in the Northern Wall." Elliot: "Finally, the public would start to question the entire noble power structure."

I like how if Rean talks to Sara after Claire, Sara will make a comment about how she doesn't appreciate playing second fiddle to "Missy miss Captain" (I'm paraphrasing). It added to my appreciation of how much detail is put into these Trail games.

Rean has a disproportionately massive number of text lines and an expensive VA. I'm not sure whether his English VA is especially expensive, but either way it's unusual to have a different set of voiced lines between the dubs. Usually that only happens if the localization team went under budget.

And Alisa and Celine call him out on that by saying things like: “If I were you, I won’t go around stroking girls’ heads like that.”, and “You don’t say sweet nothings to just any girl, right? This isn’t so different.” Honestly, I’m glad someone noticed his sister complex. It’s went full blast in 3 when he crushed Ash’s shoulder after mentioning the thought of courting Elise.

He feels like he owes Elise a lot, which probably extends into that overprotectiveness. In the first game, Patrick goes from insulting Rean's family and hating his guts to wanting to date his sister just because she's beautiful. Even if he saved her that's an incredible amount of red flags. Now though, even though he gave Patrick shit for it throughout the game, in the end Patrick danced with Elise anyway later on, so Rean likely let it happen. In CS2 Elise gets kidnapped by Altina and held hostage by the Noble Alliance. Even at the end of the game where everyone keeps dogpiling on him for being inconsiderate of Elise's feelings, did they forget that he saw his sister stolen from right under him and held hostage for who knows how long right after his father was shot? Much as Elise went through the same thing, she didn't feel the same failure of having lost so much in so short a time. And then right after everything was over Crow died. Yeah. In CS3, Rean is a well-known name throughout literally the entire Zemurian continent, and Elise herself is a handmaiden of Princess Alfin. Her connections paint more targets on her than most gun ranges. At this point Rean has lost his friends twice (end of CS1 when he was separated from them, end of CS2 when he lost Crow and then the war in Crossbell, then having to stay behind in Thors). He feels like he's failed every single time when it counts the most. Which is why he's so anal when it comes to his sister. Every situation I can think of that seems overprotective makes some sense. Sydney wants to hit on his sister? The guy can barely devote himself to shooting a gun and studying chess, and he's a skirt chaser, why would Rean ever consider him? Ash has always given Rean a ton of crap throughout the game, and while he'd trust him with his life, he definitely won't trust him with his sister. Then there's the main campus students who are focusing a lot on Elise's looks. He has no idea what they're really like or what they want, but despite how relaxed the party is supposed to be it's actually very stressful for him because of everything on his mind (his dad, the attacks by Calvard, the Black Records, the cryptids and magic knights...) There's so much with him right now that he really doesn't want to deal with any problems with Elise. Yeah, Rean can't protect Elise from everything. That's the problem: Every time he's really failed lead to painful experiences for everyone involved. He doesn't want to take any chances with her.

Ash has always given Rean a ton of crap throughout the game, and while he'd trust him with his life, he definitely won't trust him with his sister. Then there's the main campus students who are focusing a lot on Elise's looks. He has no idea what they're really like or what they want, but despite how relaxed the party is supposed to be it's actually very stressful for him because of everything on his mind (his dad, the attacks by Calvard, the Black Records, the cryptids and magic knights...) There's so much with him right now that he really doesn't want to deal with any problems with Elise.
Yeah, Rean can't protect Elise from everything. That's the problem: Every time he's really failed lead to painful experiences for everyone involved. He doesn't want to take any chances with her.
