At the party, Sharon is all like, "I love my family and swear on their name I'm not evil." And then before you fight her, she's glad not to be chained down by them anymore. It's a weird development when the last time we saw her, she fought against McBurn with Rean and threw herself in front of his flame to protect him. I think the final dungeon was stupid narratively even if the fights were pretty epic. Some of the characters made no sense going along with a plan to raise an evil temple, sacrifice a little girl, and shroud the world in twilight.

Alisa’s romance route from 1-4 is a perfect example. They go from lovey-dovey and heartwarming to me going “Wtf Alisa” several times as she goes from your love interest to not wanting to be attached to you and back.

Her mother joined with Alberich/her father WHOM SHE THOUGHT WAS FUCKING DEAD FOR 10 YEARS AND IS NOW TRYING TO BRING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD and Sharon went back to being an Enforcer and on top of that, the ONE constant in her life that kept her from going off the deep end is essentially consigned to be the ultimate sacrifice that'll bring about the end of the world. Yeah, that's going to REALLY fuck someone up. It makes perfect sense she'd want to back the fuck off and give herself time to think things through and it's actually why her relationship is genuine and normal compared to everyone else. The fact you didn't think that through just tells me you've never been in love or suffered severe heartbreak.
I don't hate the dating sim mechanics for Cold Steel but when you clearly push one character (Alisa) over the others it just feels unnatural to deviate from the intended path. What Falcom should've done was give every female a chance to shine with Rean and then the player make a decision. I don't expect it to be as detailed as Mass Effect or Baldur's Gate but they can at least attempt.
That's XSeed's idea as a bonus to sell the pc version back then. It got carried over for the PS4 release. NISA decided to keep it as is on what were voiced and what not in the japanese.

In French it basically says the same thing ("I'll continue to support you") so I had no idea one led to a 'platonic' vs. 'romantic' ending. I only found out later after doing the sewer dungeon and had to reload a way earlier save and redo everything to get the version I wanted.
Did not realize Laura, Emma and Alisa had romantic events..or even that Rean and Alisa kissed if you get the event with her. My events were with Gaius, Juna and Kurt and all by accident.

From Trails 1, Rean has always shown an interest towards Emma as she is super beautiful.. they even teased Rean but then the game forces scene such as Alisa falling on top of Rean but all that said even till the end Rean is mesmorized by Emma and Emma is a critical part to the story as she helps him with all his trials with the ogre curse.
You can choose not to kiss Alisa at least. I would agree that Rean and Laura are kindred spirits and would be fine together. Rean and Emma is my personal favorite relationship because Emma was an enigma in CS1 but when her origin is revealed and how she guides Rean as an Awakener, it just fits for me. She’s the pillar that supports him as he grows and helps him achieve his goals. Granted, you could make an argument for all of Class 7 but I think Emma is the most crucial one. Also, I find their interactions to be quite endearing even if they can be a bit awkward around one another.
