This moment by itself took Rean from a character that I like to one of my favorite characters of all time. I absolutely love this moment, and his character only gets better from here.
I like this moment. Like, Rean being at the end gates of despair not knowing what or how to do what needs to be done. And then just go "fuck it, i'll save Alfin right now instead". It's such an underrated scene. He knows he have no chance. The people on this ship are literal monsters in power levels. Rean has been shown his own weakness again and again. But this was probably the one moment that he realized it's alright to be weak. Since he's not alone anyway and knew his friends would come for him. There's also something very soothing about stories where people overcome their ptsd as well. (In Rean's case, the use of his power).

Hence the term "Overcoming your demons". It's not rocket science. Also i wouldn't worry too much about people sounding aggressive online, you're good. I'm not gonna feel bad about some random persons comment from some random piece of the world.
If the plot permit, i still think nowadays that rean and Alfin is one of the best possible couple this story can make. The cheerful and funny Alfin with the so not innocence Rean. The princess and the erebonian Hero. The princess and her white knight. They still my number 1 couple of. Choice in the story
I would totally agree with you if only Musse hasn't showed up. Alfin is the sweetest girl I've ever seen in a videogame but I can't hide the fact the Musse stole my heart completely

The best part of the game, which was unfortunately slightly ruined in my PC playthrough - the Blue Destination didn't play and it was just silence. Glad I was able to experience it later on as it was intended.
@@nicogalax It's a bug. There is basically no moment in the whole cold steel series - at least to my recollection - where no music plays. You can see it on some Lets Plays of other people who do this moment on the steam version - it'll just be silence. It really takes away the epic...
@@nicogalax I don't believe there's a fix yet. Basically the moment the music stops in the intermission of CS2, just open up an hour-long version of Blue Destination and enjoy it :)
Best part in the game because there’s none of the bullshit “win the fight lost the cutscene need to be saved by someone else” that the game had an obsessive relationship with.
Even it was quite an annoying trope considering a player perspective, but narratively speaking it shows how the characters slowly improve and become stronger. Like in the first encounters Mcburn couldn’t care less about the fight but he became more serious and went full scale by cs4 when fighting against us.
Don't know why you have a problem with it. It brings out how the bad guys are stronger. It's unrealistic if you win every fight you get in and would be stupid that bunch of students own everyone.

He actually compliments her character before this in her room and she blushes. She's so embarrassed that she forces him out of the room so she can equip her armor (she felt vulnerable). I'd argue both scenes are what did it lol
