Thanks for this video. It was really helpful, but a couple of things to add... 1. You have to jack the car up pretty high to be able to move the lower contol arm out of the way to drop the axle low enough to get the strut off of it. I put a digging iron in the slot on the lower control arm and had someone sit on it to keep it down out of the way. 2. On the passenger side, just lowering the control arm and axle are enough to get the strut out. 3. On the driver side, the axle is much shorter and harder to manipulate. The axle has to go forward and down at about a 45 degree angle and you STILL have to force the lower strut mount around the CV boot. I hope that helps someone else.
1:42 "Second, the inner joint can be removed from the differential". Why isn't this critical step demonstrated? 2:04 Bad edit. Several minutes and several steps missing. The axle end and CV boot doesn't magically slide into the yoke at the bottom of the strut assembly. The lower control arm needs to be several inches lower than shown. Some of the video is very helpful.
@@saltsea9499 must be why i hear a rattling in the strut tower. The local tire shop said it was all tight but they most likely didn't tighten the bolt when it was lowered

Why shouldn't you tighten the bottom bolt on the strut until the vehicle is lowered?
The bolt will rotate under load, and under load will be its primary location.

Are these torque specs the same for all models?
I miss when shocks were seperate from a spring..
