I owned a 2015 Grand Cherokee. I have never had any problem with my jeep. My jeep is closed to 200,000 miles. I guess I was lucky and got the best. I ❤ 🚙.
You forgot about the poorly made camshafts that eat them selves and send metal shavings into the engine and seize the engine. This is a known issue with all 3.6 pentastar engines and Chrysler/Fiat doesn't care about it. Ask me how i know.
2011 Jeep grand Cherokee thermostat will not leave. You stranded on the side of the road if that does and the computer system Jack. What will leave you on the side of the road is the oil intercooler system. The factory ones are all plastic and they’re located between the V on the motor block underneath the air intake with the fuel injectors.. Why would you put a cooling system for the oil in the middle of a volcano?
I’ll looking at buying a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 98k miles for $5,800. I’m going to look at and if I like it and if runs great, I’m going to buy it and it will be my daily driver.
I am impressed you did not mention the transmission pan and gasket, plastic? Seriously?thats one of the most ridiculous parts i have seen for such an important part of the vehicle, whoever came up with that idea needs to be fired immediately
2014 to 2019 Jeep Jeep Cherokee sports leak in the rear hatch by the spare tire it’s one of two things it’s the vents or it is the rear main or the hatch
Pretty good list. But you forgot: --Hydraulic motor mounts that spring a leak. --PCV valve stuck open and venting oil into the air intake, which will eventually foul your fuel injectors. --Cracked oil cooler -- made of cheap plastic. The Pentastar 3.6L V6 is a fantastic engine with a bunch of lousy, unreliable parts tacked on.
2011 Grand Cherokee. ALL OF THE ABOVE! 2024 August, Water pump failure/thermostat stuck closed, 2024 Feb overheated, radiator and cooling fan replaced, half the radiator clogged wrong coolant 2023 Thermostat stuck open (I replaced local dealership too busy). Upper valve train one cam shaft and ALL cam followers replaced (180,000 miles). Right front caliper locked up welded to the spindle both front calipers and brakes replaced. Front half shafts replaced for compromised CV joints. Both motor mounts replaced - fluid leaked out. Right rear brake froze/lock up calipers replaced and parking brake assembly replaced. Bought in 2015 and current mileage is 189,230 Oh yeah.. the oil cooler in 2024 too.
Hi, I have a problem jeep 2019 🤯 with the steering wheel. She stopped getting up or down. It works outside and inside. The steering wheel is in the middle
One of the worst engine designs. I was in a remote section of highway near Oregon and noticed white smoke when checking my mirrors for a lane change. Pulled over and oil was pouring out of the car. Oil cooler failure. Had it towed and they have to take apart the engine. Very costly repair.
Most annoying one I’ve encountered yet? Damn airbag light on and off along with the seatbelt light going on and off. Why put so many cables and sensors in these things if they fail so easily? And why is the airbag turning off? If my seatbelt sensor fails do the airbags just not deploy leaving me dead? Phhuck Chrysler for this tbh 😂
The 3.0L diesel engines are junk, the main and big end bearings are too small for the amount of power and torque produced. I sold my 2016 GC in 2017 with only 8000km on the clock. The new owner did some minor mods and at 24000km the number 5 big end was spun. He spent $20,000AUD on an engine that had done 54,000km and this lasted only 8 months.
Forgot to mention the most important and common issue, the crappy transmission, I have 2016 GC with 78K miles and the transmission started slipping and bumping when stops, went to the dealership and they updated the TCM software and all kind of problems came on, check engine light and the vehicle was run in limp mode as soon I as left the dealership. Changed the transmission and same problem started to occur with the new, I thinking of a way to get rid of this garbage, DON’T BUY A JEEP, IT’S A BIG SCAM
In Puerto Rico all this models of car are bad, The mayor issue is problem with the motor. Have a heavy noise in the upper. 🤮🤮 Here the people like Japan car, all american car have many issue and not have a good customer services. 💸💸
It's just a crappy vehicle. Jeep rhymes with cheap. And I mean quality. My brother passed away and left his to me and I'm contemplating wether I should put it on the road or not. Not interested in a money pit. I drive a Mercedes so I'm used to quality but I've been thinking of registering the jeep as a second vehicle so I don't have to drive the Mercedes all the time. My brother drove it everywhere so maybe I'll have luck with it. I'll give it a try.
There is nothing worse then inserting cheap gasoline in to your vehicles, the lower the grade the more it last but the harder it is for your vehicle to pass it, that's why cheap grade fuel is bad.

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee 170K miles. I have had all these issues. Overall its a great car.
We have had four Jeep Grand Cherokees over the last 25 years. Each one went 150k mi, with very few problems. It's a solid vehicle.

You missed one.. Fuel relay on the PC board, was a recall item, but can be temporarily bypassed to get you home.
3.6? What about the oil cooler?
3.6. . .Great engine when it runs.

I’ve replaced my thermostat 5 times

Good tips but I would never own a new Jeep.

Really thats it? Stop it from overheating and you are good? There has to be more wrong with these besides the cooling system issues and cheap fixes,
Looks like I'll be avoiding this vehicle.
OVERPRICED JUNK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
