The information is very useful and you present it so eloquently. I was watching one of my regular fashion influencer UA-cam videos the other day and she was sharing how she stays so slim at the age of 60. One of her viewers commented on how she noticed recently how bloated she was and was very distraught about it. I recommended your channel and suggested that it may be the foods she is eating because that is what I experienced when I reached menopause. This knowledge about the microbiome, leaky gut, etc. has helped me tremendously. I started working with a dietitian since 2017 and read books about the microbiome. Thank you for what you do.

Although one of the symptoms you didn’t mention was seeing undigested food in the stool. Which category would that fall under? Also, silly question, but can you have more than one gut type?
Not a silly question at all. Yes, it’s possible to overlap with more than one gut type or share features of multiple. I think you’re spot on about the immune type.
This video is incredibly informative and well-made. Even though it's a bit difficult for me to narrow it down to one gut problem based on my diet, I lean most toward it being immune-based. I respond the best with a spore probiotic (I've tried them all) and I wanted to ask if there is any evidence that you've come across to support a correlation of efficacy with probiotic type versus gut issue type? If so, it may help me further support my immune-based gut theory. Thanks!
So glad it was helpful! The three main types of probiotics can be useful for most gut conditions (so most gut types), but it’s great if you’ve found those to be more effective than other strains. Could be related to type or something more unique to you, like your microbiome.

Hi there! We offer an elemental diet in our store, the whey-free version of Elemental Heal (the original Elemental Heal might be considered a semi-elemental diet because of the whey): store.drruscio.com/products/elemental-heal-whey-free
Hey Dr. Ruscio. I'm making an assumption so perhaps you can confirm or disconfirm, is it possible for the 3 gut types to overlap at all? Can you, for instance, be experiencing or embodying a bacterial imbalance that is also significantly affected by histamine and is causing notable immune responses? If so, would a combination of the protocols be a viable solution? If you were a bacterial/immune, would a low fodmap and low histamine diet be advantageous? I'm just curious about the interplay and potential coexistence of these three types. Thank you so much.
What do you do if you have all three gut types? I have such a hard time. I have tried the elemental diet for sibo, but I react to the high carb and sugar content even on dextrose free. What diet to you recommend, carnivore is the only thing that has helped me though I still deal with extreme gas and bloating due to still having leaky gut, CIRS, h. pylori, and parasites. My gut is a mess. Thank you for any recommendations
I was going to recommend the carnivore diet! I think I have/had all three myself, now I think I'm rid of the candida. Histamine reactions are a lot better too! I'm about 3 months in on the diet. In case you didn't know, there are meats with high histamine as well, as well as processes increasing it. Such as leftovers, cooking something for hours etc. Check out l-glutamine too, to speed up the healing of the gut lining
I was fine a few months ago. Did a lot of traveling, eating, fun stuff. Then one day I started to feel sick. Then the brain fog came. And when I eat certain foods, I get a rash all across my chest and arms. My vision has gotten blurry too. And my stress levels are super high. I have no clue what to do or who to see about this. It’s horrible.
I have IBS-C, Candida issues and immune issues. How do I go about dealing with 3 gut types and leaky gut. I feel when I start seeing improvements with one issue another gut type has issues. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Feeling a bit stuck right now and feel that I can't eat anything. Trying to do AIP, Low Fodmap and trying to be better with Candida diet.
You should start with soil based probiotics, of the bacillus strain (typically B.coagulans, B.clausi & B.subtilis) a mild prebiotic ( to help replenish health bacteria and a post biotic (butyrate or preferably tributyrin) to feed the probiotics and also heal the digestive tract. Your diet should be comprised of those foods that you know wont trigger issues, for a couple of months whilst you harmonise the bacterial terrain in your small and large intestine. Adding healthy doses of vitamins/ minerals alongside amino acids ( if you cant tolerate bone broth that will provide you nutrients/collagen to rebuild your gut lining) like glutamine, proline and glycine will help to get you well too.

I have a question for you Dr. Regarding my daughter 19y. She has been having gut issues for the last 4 y. She had candida, anxiety, helicopter and leaky gut ( very high Zonulin). We got rid of candida and helico. But still Zonulin which is a bit better. She has rash and acne, hard to gain weight although good appetite. My worry is about dizziness and she fainted lately , do u think it’s related to histamine, or her thyroid affected ? She worries a lot . What could it be ? Thank you so much ❤ sorry , plus she has low HbA1c 4.7, and hemochromatosis
4 yrs? Wow. My teenaged daughter had similar gut issues. Lots of weight loss. She went from a size 32 to clothes for an 11 year old. Also had fainting spells. She was put on a very good multivitamin and iron tablets, a lacto-bifido probiotic and other medicines to heal the leaky gut, reduce her pain and manage her constipation. Putting her on a meal replacement drink helped to give her colon a chance to heal and get nutrients back into her body. I really feel for you as the mother of a daughter on this journey. It is extremely hard to watch them suffer like this and feel helpless but sticking to learning all you can from Dr. Ruscio's videos will definitely make you wiser and your daughter's recovery quicker. 🙏
@@TheTattooedSoul24 thank you so much ..love you and I hope the best for your daughter too , God bless you and bless her . I have SIBO and cannot tolerate any fruit. I bloat like I am pregnant when I eat oatmeal. I have very few foods that I can eat. Low carb eating makes me feel terrible.
Seborrheic dermatitis is a type of fungal skin condition, so definitely could be related. Here’s more on the gut-skin axis: drruscio.com/gut-skin-axis/
@DrRuscioDC I suffer GI issues and believe it's fungal. Can't do starches but can handle non starchy vegetables. I, too, have seborrheic dermatitis and keratosis pilaris, horrible allergies, and palpitations I knew they're all related. Also, chocolate and foods with yeast like beer and pizza crust make matters worse
I have methane Sibo. Eating carnivore to try and starve the bacteria. Afraid to try low fod map. I also am drinking homemade kefir, super gut yogurt. I take caprylic acid too. Your thoughts on this for getting rid of SIBO??

Dear dr for the past 8 months am getting rosacea on my face and fungal on my chest went to the dr he asked for blood test and everything was ok he gave me pills and creams and it didn’t solve anything it heals a bit then it comes back with I need your help
Very informative, thank you! I have a question. My tests came back for dysbiosis (8/10 severity) and "gut infection" (3/10), and my breath tests have suggested moderate IMO. I also react really terribly to lots of foods (hot flashes, palpitations, head fog, severe headache, stomach becomes hard as stone, etc...). I try to follow a low fodmap and low histamine diet. When I take clonazepam (1/2 mg daily), I feel a LOT better and can tolerate most foods pretty well. I know that clonazepam reduces anxiety and stress, but why does it help so much with my other symptoms? (I did read that it is a mast cell stabilizer.) With this in mind, is there anything I should take a closer look at that might help me while not taking clonazepam? Currently not taking clonazepam and some days are "okay" (no intense suffering) but some days are terrible. Thank you!
You might be having histamine issues, I have IMO and recently had candida then histamine issues happening, it could be inflammation caused by histamine intolerance issues. Look into Claritin for temp relief, drink plenty of water, meditation/mindfulness(natural stress relieve). Look up symptoms and see if you have any.
@@Yeeha494 Thank you! Yeah, histamine definitely seems to be an issue. Drinking water certainly helps to calm flare-ups. Unfortunately, I don't react well to antihistamines. :(
My dietitian recommended to only eat green apples (like Granny Smith) but in general it would be best to cut fruits like apples out of a candida diet. Berries work fine :)
Hi! The symptoms listed here aren’t completely exhaustive - just the most common/foundational. Leaky gut is related to intestinal problems as well as other conditions, like IBS, that can cause symptoms like constipation.
I just made a spreadsheet of all the foods mentioned in this video and how they fall as safe/unsafe for each gut type. Essentially meat, fish and eggs (e.g those in the carnivore diet) are the only foods that are safe for all types. I’m giving that diet a go as a temporary elimination diet as well as supplementing with probiotics and glutamine. Thanks so much for the video - incredibly helpful. Wish me luck

i don't know what GUT TYPE i am cause i can eat food from all 6 categories and i don't feel worse for me it feels digestion part is what seems to be slow and ive also noticed it dosen't matter what i eat salad ,lean protine ,fruit ,veggies i always get really tired about 2 hours after eating ,the only ive tried that kind of works is slippery elm but it only delays the sleepiness for about 1 hour .ive also got ringing in my left ear as soon as i turn on my right side to sleep but it also can be in the right on as well so what happens is i have to sleep in a recliner chair because the ringing keeps me for getting any sleep . i feel like im at a dead end every md ive seen says it's just IBS your going to have good and bad days
Can you recommend a good product for elemental diet?
Thanks.
Hi there! We offer an elemental diet in our store, the whey-free version of Elemental Heal (the original Elemental Heal might be considered a semi-elemental diet because of the whey): store.drruscio.com/products/elemental-heal-whey-free
What about butyrate and phosphatidylcholine, are these a part of the gut healing equation?
Please help! Did you have patients that have severe burning after eating under skin. Nerve pain like crazy. Is that Histamine?
Hey Dr.
Can the fist two types bacterial and fungal also cause histamine intolerance
Try Betaine Hcl with Pepsin with meals? 😊
@@DianaGracehow did you get rid of your candida
i get worse on probiotics...i have candida and hpylori
I was fine a few months ago. Did a lot of traveling, eating, fun stuff. Then one day I started to feel sick. Then the brain fog came. And when I eat certain foods, I get a rash all across my chest and arms. My vision has gotten blurry too. And my stress levels are super high. I have no clue what to do or who to see about this. It’s horrible.
Too many carbs!
I have all 3…SIBO, SIFO and histamine intolerance. A diet is very challenging. Does anyone have any suggestions?
U should go for homeopathy treatment !!
Try the carnivore diet as an elimination diet. But make sure you learn about histamine in meats and eggs as well
I have IBS-C, Candida issues and immune issues.
Does your clinic diagnose leaky gut/what type by means of medical testing? I feel like I need guidance in all this.
Hi there! We do treat leaky gut in the clinic - it’s one of our specialties. This article covers some of what we advise in the clinic: drruscio.com/how-to-heal-leaky-gut/
Have similar symptoms, worse part is not gaining weight
4 yrs?
The biggest problem now is the lack of sleep ..we tried so many supplements ( melatonin, glycine , magnesium Threonate and l theanine). Still her brain can’t be quiet enough for her to sleep . Especially she’s moving to her college soon . Idk what to do ..poor girl . She does some breathing exercises to help she’s still weak .
Can you tell me dear what replacement meal and multivitamin you gave your daughter? Thank you 🌸🌸
What kind of probiotic for H-Pylori, all types categories mentioned in your elaboration, immune gut with the high histamine and small intestinal bacteria overload? I am on the FOD map diet, without carbs that flairs up all my misery, severely constipated,(blocked). Antibiotics didn’t scratch the surface, herbs either, hippocampus and amygdala only kicking well!😋🥳🎼🙏💜🌟🗽
Lacto/bifido strains and s. boulardii seem to be the most effective in treating h. pylori. More on that here: drruscio.com/h-pylori-probiotics/
How we know plz i have cryptitis
I have SIBO and cannot tolerate any fruit. I bloat like I am pregnant when I eat oatmeal. I have very few foods that I can eat. Low carb eating makes me feel terrible.
Try Betaine HCL with pepsin with meal? 😊
@Midwest.. I have been taking them for several years.
Can you tell me if a candida/fungal gut is a causative agent of Seb Derm. Taking antifungal herbs for this. Also, struggling with non-formed BM’s.
I, too, have seborrheic dermatitis and keratosis pilaris, horrible allergies, and palpitations
I knew they're all related.
Also, chocolate and foods with yeast like beer and pizza crust make matters worse
What aboit Transfer Factor supplements... Hvu heard of that?
I have methane Sibo. Eating carnivore to try and starve the bacteria. Afraid to try low fod map. I also am drinking homemade kefir, super gut yogurt. I take caprylic acid too. Your thoughts on this for getting rid of SIBO??
How are you feeling
Where do I get immunoglobulin to supplement? Is it available online?

Thanks a lot for sharing the link. Would you please deliver this product to India.I have found only one vender who delivers the same product to India, but they charge $100 extra.
I'm all 3 types! Not sure what to do.
It’s complex, but hang in there - you can figure it out and get yourself feeling better.
yea that was gonna be my comment. i have all 3 too
Me too! I am on low histamine carnivore plus about 20 different fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Thank you very much
You’re so welcome!
Are apples good for Candida prone people
My dietitian recommended to only eat green apples (like Granny Smith) but in general it would be best to cut fruits like apples out of a candida diet. Berries work fine :)
@@meela1014 candida comes back
Oats and brown rice are full of lectins
You didn’t mention constipation. So if you have chronic constipation, you don’t have leaky gut????
Hi! The symptoms listed here aren’t completely exhaustive - just the most common/foundational. Leaky gut is related to intestinal problems as well as other conditions, like IBS, that can cause symptoms like constipation.
Try psylium bro
May you have more than one type simultaneously? They all seem to fit.
Yes, it’s possible to have features of more than one!
My daughter gets stomach pain and vomits when she eat meat, which one can this be?
just try giving her bile salts or some enzymes it will help her may be her bile production is very low which helps to digest fats and protien
@@ze_michaelthank you very much
@@ze_michael how much bile salt can a 17 year old female start taking? as in how many mg would you recommend? Also is ox bile the same as bile salt? TIA

Brown rice is an awful lot like white rice …. 🙄
