Dr. Michael Ruscio, you are the best Dr in case of gutproblems. I am still working on it, but I am far in the process. Many other doctors are far away from your knowledge. Unbelievable respect for you. Thanks for sharing all information about IBS and further. I am watching it ❤

Excellent video, one point i would maybe add would be for anyone who has chronic case of candida or seems to go around in circles (few steps forwards/few steps backwards) could well be the underlying cause has not been addressed or found - mold/mould being a big point especially if people have been living in mold for many years, some without ever knowing it. "MPA is an immunosuppressant which inhibits the proliferation of B and T lymphocytes. MPA exposure can increase the risk of opportunistic infections such as Clostridia and Candida" "Even low levels of exposure to macrocyclic trichothecenes can cause severe neurological damage, immunosuppression, endocrine disruption, cardiovascular problems, and gastrointestinal distress" Lastly - whilst there is the typical 'candida' diet, most people with candida and gut infections often need to follow more than one diet - for instance candida diet as staple, but then also low histamine and low oxalate diet to reduce inflammation and promote even more gut healing, so whilst one item might be ok for one diet it may still cause problems for the individual if they have more than just candida going on which most people do, so not only does someone need to follow a typical candida diet they also need to then fine tune and tailor the diet further for the individual.
Back in the early 90's i read a book called The Yeast Connection. I realized back then as a teenager that i had Candida. I was 11 when i had my first and only antibiotic. By the time i hit puberty and High School, i had vaginal yeast infections, constant gas, skin problems, itchy anis, athletes foot, and was diagnosed having reactive hypoglycemia. I was constantly tired, nasel drip, had shoulder/back spasims. At the age of 25 gallbladder removed. I tried to eat a healthy diet. Now i am carnivore and health is getting better
Back on my GI health maintenance plan: Started taking probiotics again this month, plus I'm mindfully controlling my cortisol levels, no muscle straining exercise, plus I'm on my regular supplements. I can cautiously eat bread/gluten again! 🎉 There is no negative impact on my eyes 🎉 . It should rule out what little impact candida has on my body, too. I'm on a garlic supplement, too, as part of my extended winter anti-inflammatory plan.
Did you have symptoms in your eyes from gluten? I thought I was the only one! It took me decades to figure out it was gluten making my eyes hurt, because I never had digestive problems so I never considered cutting out gluten.
Just read that D3 is important to help keep candida down . I recently tested low on vitamin D and I’ve been vegan 100% for about six years and 95% for the last 38 years because I used to consume salmon or other fish randomly a few times a year and occasionally buy goat cheese or eat something that contained meat broth …. It was after I got super strict that I began to have a bloated gut … and I’m wondering if it is the elimination of the occasional fish that caused my vitamin D to drop . I live in Florida and I do lay in the sun so it makes no sense to me …. I eat a lot of fruit so now I’m going to try no fruit ….i already eat no starches no grains and no sugar or processed foods so apparently fruit is bad enough to keep me bloated …. It’s hell having your gut blow up like a balloon every time I eat anything ….i just started a candida cleanse herb kit last night and went one day fasting then ate a soup I made of coconut milk and red curry paste and no salt or sugars…. Plus I ate an avocado blended up with arugula and lemon and poured it over kelp noodles with some cumin and cayenne. And then I ate some actual dried unsweetened coconut that I sautéed in coconut milk and added stevia and vanilla and cinnamon as a sort of desert …. I felt a little bloated but went to bed and when I woke up I was extremely nauseated and my gut was totally flat for the first time in two years!!! Mind you I’ve been addicted to laxatives and coffee enemas but I refrained from either one just to get to the bottom of this ….. so in less that 24 hrs of removing carbs and adding this candida protocol I have die off symptoms of nausea and I have a totally flat gut …..I have done enemas and colon cleanses and medical medium protocol and tried low FODMAP or all fruit or just juices ( big mistake if it’s fruit juice) or an all potato or all sweet potato or all English peas and every day I try any starchy food I am bloated like hell. I’m so fed up I was about to go carnivore despite my mental aversion to eating dead animals when it occurred to me to try coconut and avocado as the base calories …. So if I can do it vegan I would rather …. I will try to give feedback on this in case there is someone else struggling to not eat meat and eggs …. And get rid of this. I also noticed apple cider vinegar and olive oil on anything reduces the bloating … so green salads with no tomatoes or other starchy things seems to be ok. Tomatoes are too sugary and bloated me out and tomato paste made into a soup … same thing. Also eating once a day was impossible if eating carbs but I somehow lost my appetite in 24 hours when I started the candida herbs and began no carb …..probiotics seemed to make me way worse so I may have SIBO too…. I’m ready to quit eating altogether and drink green juice and various oils and free form aminos if that’s what it takes ….. two years of this is enough!! Also I’ve never gained weight and this candida caused me to gain 10 pounds of jiggly . I’ve always been lean . It also reduces my ability to exercise due to the bumped out gut pain and embarrassment !!!
Im following your videos since my 4 weeks Treatment. You are helping me feeling not alone during these Phase of healing. Thank you so much Dr. Michael Ruscio. The Doctors/Proktologist/Gastroenterologist in Germany unfortunately dont have time for an individual Anamnese etc. I really had to inform and treat my self. What do you think should I quit with Creatine during these Phase? Would you recommend a low carb diet in a examina phase where I have to deal with stress or should I live a "normal" life and start the treatment after the Examina? How long does it take until you decrease candida overgrowth when you make a strict low carb diet, taking Probiotics and making after antimykotikum an antimikrobia treatment with oregano oil as aftermath treatment? I have so many Questions because I got an appointment on a gastroenterologist not until 2 Months. And I just want to know if Im on the right track, because my Symptoms not getting much better. Thank you again for this evidence based work! Youre the best! Grüße from Germany Jamie
I am new to the idea that I may have candida of the gut after being tested with OAT test. My dr wanted me to try a candida diet which I started implementing 3 days ago. My huge problem is that I only weigh 88 lbs due to the fact that I’ve been micro tapering from a very long and hard benzodiazepine med given me 30 yrs ago … and have a long way to go (perhaps 1 to 1/5 yrs. This has been an ongoing process as I had 2 failed taper attempts b/c drs do not understand the process and kept putting me back on the benzo - even updosing me. I’m 69 and I really had no health issues to speak of until I started tapering in 2020. Do you have any thoughts or anyone else under your care have candida as a result of the taper process of this iatrogenic script given me for essential tremor? Needless to say, stress brought about by the process has been great, but I am very concerned that I cannot get enough to eat of the candida diet as I am nauseous most of the day. Sorry so long ….
lol a little bit is an understatement. I was literally eating fruit like 20 mangoes a day and still looking for more like bananas and pineapple. I was killing myself with fruit!
in another video you showed a study that showed a high success rate in eliminating sifo/candida with a diet that was not low carb (whole grain, brown rice, low GI fruit) ... not you say "go as low carb as you can". What is your final thought on this? I do sports and I run best on carbs, but this sickness is killing me - so what would you advise me to do?
I had precious puberty as a child I now have PCOS as an adult along with hormone issues. I have been diagnosed with methane sibo.. Is there any correlation between all of these? I'm desperately trying to figure out the Underlying issues with my gut health. Thank you for any help!
Candida and SIBO is holding me hostage. I feel drunk. I think it was affecting my blood pressure, blood pressure started dropping on midodrine. My functional medicine dr is testing me for Candida. I have thyroid for years since a vaccine reaction almost 17 years ago but I think Candida and SIBO is affecting thyroid now. My dr did test SIBO indican urine test . Trace amount was found. SIBO. I had numerous antibiotics as a kid. 3-4 for 1 ear infection. Almost died in hospital asthma, bronchitis, whooping cough, bilateral pneumonia both lungs. Age 4 years old. My mom had Candida , we all have mood disorders. Brothers battle anger , my parents passed Candida on to each other when they were together in married life. Once they were both on antifungals together. I had rectal itching as a child. Numerous food allergies as a child. Like my mom she had eliminations diets in the 70’s , allergy shots in the 70’s. Candida has made my life a living nightmare. Had thrush last spring summer. Zero carb , zero fruit , zero processed foods, zero sugar of any kind.
My mom has chronically said …..I feel like something sweet . My dad couldnt control his cravings. He ended up with diabetes metabolic syndrome led to brain cancer . Died 2005. Neither of my parents ever healthy since I was born. Almost was orphaned from a child. Parents in and out of hospital. Since age 15 I have radically changed my life almost 40 now. Diet wise . Lost 50-70 pounds at age 15. My younger brother and I weight issues on off all our lives. My parents too weight issues, not obese but had a tummy.
Please help! I dont know to do..candida is on my tongue, neck ..i have allergies, hormonal imbalance, hashimoto, pcos, fibromialgia ,fog brain,i want to eat sugar..i leard that i have candida last week..i have stoped sugar and carbohydrates for 5 days..i eat vegetables, probiotic yogurts & kefir,no fruits..nistamysyn here in Greece is in luck..doctors dont help me..i dont know what to do...give me suggestion please!
Does candida effect Thyroid also? I got fungal infection after COVID AND since then my tsh level always stays between 8 to 15 I took itraconazole and felt good for few days but after that it came back and till now its effecting my body There is a slight pain in the left and right side of my thyroid Symtoms - thin hairs - cough - pain in legs and arms - brain fog - tiredness - mood swings - pain in chest ( sternum)
Dr. Ruscio Thx for such great info . I just read the book “ unraveling candidiasis” it talks about how immune reactions to disease causing yeast contribute to the symptoms and may not always go away with just treatment of of infection ? Do you treat immune reactions separately in addition to the infection?
Didn't you say in anothher video that it doesn't matter in some people how much carbs they consume? Here you're saying that peope should eat not that much carbs?
