I've never had any issues with any of my PSA rifles. Plus, you have to consider where your money is going. When you support a company that supports you, they'll give back to you in the long run. PSA is going crazy with expanding their lineup. They're coming out with all kinds of new guns using the money they've made. In a couple years, they could be your one-stop shop for any budget gun you want whether it's a rifle, pistol, or shotgun. Sure there probably are better guns out there, but as someone living paycheck to paycheck I just prefer PSA personally.
90% of people will be perfectly fine with a PSA. I've never had issues with their stuff. Plus they actively support the 2nd Amendment, while offering fair prices.
Where your money goes is HUGE!!! Are PSA a Danial Defense and Knights? Nope. Unless you are a tier 1 operator planning on being the main character in SHTF thinking you have plot armor and it’s call of duty in real life you will likely be fine not having all the high speed gucci gear.. Does PSA have the same scale of QC? Nope.. But I’ve seen Daniel Defense get sent back.. You may risk getting something that requires you to tinker a bit or send back. But that gives you experience with having an issue and troubleshooting it helping you understand more how it works. News flash, rifles no matter the cost go down. I own 3 rifles that may are more expensive than PSA, but not a DD or KAC.. I live in reality. A lot of highly trained soldiers with far superior kit came home in a box due to guys far less trained and running around with worn out AK’s and in sandals.. Think if you talk to honest war vets the vast majority of them will tell you they were lucky to come home. The reality is, the more fighting you do the less chance of survival you have. Even the least expensive of PSA’s offerings have been documented going 5-6k rounds. That’s a hell of a lot of fighting and surviving without getting badly wounded and ineffective or dead. I don’t know many people that can just go and buy a $2000 rifle and 5k rounds for everyone in their family, much less all the other high speed gucci gear. Then you are looking at training, and if you are looking to do formal training that’s stupid expensive. I train with family and friend vets. People will say if you can’t just go buy all the high speed high end gear save.. Reality is we don’t get a choice when the time comes to actually need and use it. A lot of training time missed saving for something unattainable and might still not have it when the time comes to use it.. I often wonder if these people realize people have families they have to kit up also.. lol Thing I like about PSA is their mission and their actions back it up they are serious about it. I haven’t put pen to paper but financially I don’t think it makes sense to shoot factory FMJ during training then reload the brass with defensive bullets anymore with AAC offerings. And that’s just components not counting equipment and time. I’m sure I could probably learn to hand load more accurate rounds. But of the AAC I’ve shot so far out of all my firearms it does pretty damn good.. I don’t see DD or KAC offering ammo much less reasonable priced ammo that is more than capable of getting the job done.. That’s where it becomes important who you spend your money with. While the high speed gucci companies are lining their pockets PSA has expanded into pretty much a 1 stop shop for firearms for the preppers/prepared citizens..
Zion seems great at the price. I feel like easy general recommendations are: 1) $400-500 - PSA AR15 2) $800 - IWI Zion 3) ~$1100 - BCM Upper and pick whatever lower (anything from a $160 PSA to a $400 Aero) 4) Anything over a BCM you're really just paying for something very specific you want, but getting diminishing returns. I got a good deal on a DDM4 V7 since it was the limited series and got it including the case, 5 mags, cleaning kit, comes with a full ambi lower, Geissele SSA trigger and Blue Force Vickers sling for $1800. Feel like at that price, or even $1900 that's a pretty solid value. When I found out about it, I told myself I'd pick one up for $1700-1800, but wasn't about to for $2000-2100. The PSA Sabres seem like interesting/decent options, but I'm not sure they really offer anything over a BCM and don't have the track record BCM does when you can get a lower with a BCM upper for the same price as a Sabre.
I'm fairly certain that PSA overtorques their barrels in order to avoid using barrel shims, which often clocks the feedramps, and can shear the indexing pin.
Love my IWI Zion. It definitely punches above its price point, comes from a very reputable manufacturer, and runs like a top. Only stock part I've upgraded is the charging handle. Can't beat a weapon made by a country that's perpetually at war with people who want to kill them 24/7.
live4hockey I agree 100 %. I have 2 a 12 inch and a 16. What you get for the price is much better than others in the same price range. There great guns for sure.
I’m a recent new gun owner. I got a tippmann m4-22 to get some experience first but bought a 16” Magpul Sabre a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it. I was drawn to the fn chf barrel and radiant upgrades throughout. I got the hyper fire trigger and it feels awesome. With cheap irons it shoots quarter sized groups at 25yds. I’m not an expert by any means but I recommend, to anyone, either of the rifles I listed.
I recently purchased the IWI Zion 15 and really like it. The only thing I changed was I replaced the charging handle with a Radian which works much better with the LPVO that I put on it. I am not real fussy with triggers so the one it came with is good enough for me. I will say that the MSRP was $899.99 when I bought it and I think it has gone up to $949.99 now. You would be hard pressed to find one at $800. An honorable mention that I have been looking at is the Stag-15 Tactical with the Hanson profile barrel and other upgrades.
Truly like the way you guys recorded gun shots on your videos.. gun shots sounds like true to real conditions. Its just a detail but good to see its not over exaggerated...
I built a Daniel defense ddm4v7 for 1000$. I got a ddm4v7 16in 300 blkout with a mig length gas system. Slapped it on an Anderson complete lower. Swapper the trigger to a trigger tech drop in duty trigger and added a kungfu grip and b5 stock. Runs like a champ with the omega 300 can!
I agree LT. when they say “TOP FIVE”. I’m expecting top tier AR-15’s,( at any price), like Noveski, Knights Armament, LMT, DD, and Radian. And that’s just for starters!
There are many good ARs out there. I buy for the barrel. My current AR is the DDM4. Shoots .5 moa with smks. Shoots most things under 2in. 1:7 crome chf. Never had a problem in 5k rounds. DD upper on PSA lower. Hats off to BCM and PSA and Anderson Manufacturing.
My favorite bang for your buck is andro corp industries, got their ACI-15 on sale and haven't had a single issue with it, thinking about trying the ACI-10 next
I'm running a CMMG Resolute MK4. Amazing gun. I didn't have to add anything to the rifle. It's like a Shadow Systems Glock clone. Has everything I would add to a stock AR15.
I'll never buy another PSA upper or a PSA rifle until they get their barrel torquing procedure down in a quality way. I'm fairly certain that PSA overtorques their barrels in order to avoid using barrel shims, which often clocks the feedramps, and can shear the indexing pin. Have you ever seen a barrel shim on a PSA product? People report torqje values on PSA barrels into the 150' to 200' lbs range. No, they dont use Rocksett either. None was on mine. Had to take mine apart due to feedramp misalignment issues, and the entire workbench was lifting.
AERO PRECISION ……..IMO. IS one of the best weapons, that is priced just right for the build and material they use. It’s right on that borderline of being considered an above avg midddle of the class weapon. Look at the specs and materials used for their builds, it’s right there with the $2k weapons out there. Never a disappointment.
One thing that needs to be talked about is how often you use your rifle. Of all my friends, all of whom have rifles, I must train with mine ten times the amount that they do. There are a ton of rifles that are just fine if you are putting 250 rounds through them a year. But if you are running that SOB like you’re training for WWIII, don’t be afraid to invest a bit more. PSA is good for the buck but a BCM is THE RIFLE.
I really think everyone is sleeping on the Sig M400 SDI Series X Rifle. I did all the same research as everyone else, and I landed on the SDI Series X as my go-to AR15. It's price point is maybe a little high, but God damn it is a good rifle. Full ambi including bolt catch/release, mag release, safety, charging handle. Solid 2 stage match lite trigger. The only complaint i have is the barrel is tapered, which means you need an adapter to put on different muzzle devices, which it does come with OTB, but it is an observation worth mentioning. There's 0 wobble in the upper and lower, it's lightweight and has a full Pic rail with 45/90 mlok slots. Why more ppl don't talk about this rifle is a total mystery to me
Because its an entry level rifle. There are companies like DB that take entry level rifles and add a few things like what you mentioned. When you pay for a mid tier rifle the money goes into quality control and most mid tier rifles have chrome lined barrels. Id say the only mid tier rifle I'd pay for without a chrome lined barrep is SOLGW. All the momey goes into quality control and attention to detail.
@@That1guy89 its the same rifle. The upgrades to mid tier rifles goes to QC and barrel quality. Sig's ARs are the same quality components for barrel and BCG and QC as Ruger and S&W. Thats also how you see people paying over 1k for a DB. Entry level rifle with upgrades. You can get a mid tier rifle and make those same upgrades but you will be close to 2K at that point. Yiu chose entry level rifle with upgrades over a basic mid tier rifle that you could upgrade parts on if needed.
@WREKLOC the fully ambi lower was the main draw for me. Upgraded the ch to radian, and the bcg runs with 0 issues so it seems fine but ya it's probably mil spec at best. Barrel is chromoly steel, not chf sure, maybe a point to upgrade in the future but it's fine for my first rifle so far? The lower and upper fit/finish is what drew me to the m400 sdi over other rifles in the same price bracket. I'm not making the case that it's better than a BCM, but I think it's a better pic than stags, aeros, s&ws, springfields, and is in the D&D / LWRI category of DI ARs. I've had it for 3 months and have maybe 1000 rounds through it currently. Time will tell I suppose.
@@That1guy89 im sorry man, i didnt meant to sound like i was bashing on the rifle. Its a great choice for you first one. I was addressing price which honestly comes down to personal choice. I agree with what you said up until you said its same level as DD and LWRC. I would disagree with that. I place BCM at same level as those yet other will still place DD higher over their rail and barrel. If you've shot 1K rounds through it without cleaning it a single time and have had zero malfunctions, i would be very happy with it.
Really great choices. I have 2 different Sabre rifles and got them for $800 or less by buying the lower and upper separately. I'd live to get a BCM someday.
Diamondback rifles are the only rifles I’ve ever seen bolts snap in. You guys need to check out Evolve Weapon Systems out of McKinney, TX. They have fancy models, but they also have models that are more budget friendly like the ones you showed here. Outstanding quality control and lifetime warranty.
From what I can tell, the only differences in the Diamondback carbon vs black gold, diamond, obsidian is the hand guards, lowers and potentially trigger. They all use the same barrels and bcg, correct?
I have 2 saints and then I bought a lwrc gas not piston I picked it up for 1276 and it is different level my saints are good love them but the lwrc is a whole different level need to check it out that price is brand new not used
Tbh I have been wanting to try the YHM but kinda have stayed away from their rifles because I feel like they more of a suppressor company. Maybe it’s time for a change!
Out of these, id go bcm, but my personal go to is my SOLGW 13.7, picked it up for 1100 bucks 4, goin on 5 years ago almost. Ive put it through the ringer, upgraded the shit out of it, because.... well its what i like to do and made it more of my own. Why do i still pick SOLGW, because they probably have one of the best if not the best warranty on the market. Just go look it up if you dont know why i say that. After the time ive had mine and trained with dudes usin it, 5 of them now own a 13.7 SOLGW rig and another guy chopped a bcm rig down to 13.7 lol.
*All of them are excellent ARs. You can't go wrong with any of the 5. With that said, my very favorite is the IWI Z-15 Tactical, the best deal for your money. Say, why 5 Radical Firearms RF-15 is being ignored?*
As a former military officer, I'm just baffled by the dominance of M-LOK handguards in the commercial market. I visited a gunstore in the Dallas area recently that had over 100 rifles on display, all of them M-LOK. Is this generation so weak they can't carry a quadrail? SMH!
It’s not about can’t carry more weight, it’s about why would you carry more weight? Why have rails in sections you aren’t using when you can have rails only where you mount your accessories? Why not have a lighter, faster rifle with faster target acquisition? Even the military uses MLOK stuff now like the URGI. That said I still like quad rails because I have gigantor anvil hands and find them more comfortable.
Civilians are not firing volleys at a rate high enough to justify the extra weight of an hbar and or quad rail, that are really good for keeping heat down. And most people want to keep light in case they have to be used by wives or children. Quad rails are still dope on shorter set ups, but for basic 16” rifles mlok is a great option
Also, take a look at a smith &wesson m&p sport 3 about $740 to 780 i have seen it for and volunteer and $800 to 900. And springfield Saint and $1000 to 1200 i have seen it for
Why not mention the Springfield Saint (EDGE)….. it’s great out of the box and has pretty much all the upgrades you’d want from the get go. Of course at the price point 1100 or so.
There ain’t a damn thing wrong with those Sabre rifles, about to pick up that 14.5 in 6.5 creed. You guys should review that bad boy I’ve seen hardly any reviews on it
You need to test out the Lead Star Grunt III, around 600-700 and packed with features. Awesome gun and impossible to find because of how often they sell out
@@Stars-and-Stripes- From what I was told and read, they were acquired by PSA, but made from a different company/dealer. Could be wrong but, they're awesome and better money value.
@@ethanhansen9910 Yeah they are made at the PSA production facility at 2121 Old Dunbar Rd. W. Columbia S.C. They did retain the Lead star owner/ Engineer Derrick also though and apparently he has been involved with the upcoming PSA MP5 clone development.. And they are readily available for sale right now at P.S.A.'s website in .308 and the 5.56 and .223 wylde chamberings for the Grunt and other models like the Barrage billet (5.7lbs) and Prime also in in the same chamberings also 7.62x39 and 9mm PCC 😉
@ElliottDelp Yes, Monty is cranking out guns including parts, his new sandcutter bcg, and new guns. Centurion should not be overlooked. As well, High Caliber Sales is still making Mk12s and Mk18s right outside Crane in Freedom, Indiana.
Yes and no, there's certainly been more issues but it's also exaggerated because it used to be cool to own Aero, and now the meta is it's cool to hate Aero.
U guys in USA are soooo spoilt. In SA we have a very small pool to choose from. That's probably why you guys missed the SIG M400 TREAD...not to mentioned the 'upgraded' models in the M400-stable (read: more expensive). For the price, ambi controls, 16" S/Steel barrel and just all-round great freedon-seat thrower. Pair with ARKEN EP8....in one word: AWESOME!
I tried getting the specs on the IWI from the company, but they wanted me to call them with my "concerns." Guys, I just want to know what your BCG is made of and if it is HPT/MPI.
People that talk sh*t about PSA literally have no clue what quality to performance is about, let alone what the company stands for and how they keep the cost down by eliminating the middle man and manufacturing nearly everything by themselves. Before I lost all my ARs in a traggic boating accident, I had all kinds including Gucci ones. Yet, my PSA had kept up with all of them. Also, funny enough that a PSA Freedom AR was one of the only rifles that past the AK Operators Union torture test. Time and time again, PSA proves itself and yet you have people trying to sh*t on them. Maybe trying to make themselves feel better about their purchase. A rifle that goes bang, accurate, durable and reliable. That's what you want. PSA checks all of that regardless of price.
I would consider BCM and PSA Sabre mid tier. Not even the same level. BCM still beats PSA by far over QC. Aero and DB are entry level rifles just like Ruger and S&W Sport. You can get an entry level rifle, add a few bells and whistles and cerakote and charge 1K. Id much rather pay for a mid tier quality rifle at that point. BCM is best quality you can get for the money. MK2 upper with cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel. BCM recoil mitigation system. Others are not even close!
Why in the hell does everyone who does these style of videos SLEEP on the Springfield Victor Saint! It’s so much better than all the ones you showed in this video!
I can’t back psa too many of the ones I build and bought fell apart , not to mention the mass amount of people who bought sabres and they fell apart or wouldn’t run properly, id 10000% take a diamond back over psa fuck I’d almost take an Anderson

yup
Zion seems great at the price.
I feel like easy general recommendations are:

There are a ton of rifles that are just fine if you are putting 250 rounds through them a year. But if you are running that SOB like you’re training for WWIII, don’t be afraid to invest a bit more. PSA is good for the buck but a BCM is THE RIFLE.
Low/Med/High: Radical RF-15 @ $400, BCM RECCE @ $1400, LMT R20 @ $3500.
Best overall value/performance: Get the BCM.
@WREKLOC id agree the m400 tread series is entry level. But the M400 SDI Series X is a full upgrade in every way.
My favorite is Diamond Back my first and it’s still my favorite fit finish everything about it for the money can’t beat it !
If it's not short stroke piston with automatically adjusting gas block, you're doing it wrong.
LWRC IC DI
IC or DI??
I have one of the older DB 15's, it's been a solid rifle for around $700
You guys should review the ruger ar 556 mpr it comes with a cold hammer forged barrel. Super solid rifle for like 1300
PSA is awesome….. I have 5 of their products and they just run and run and run.
love your reviews, nice to see not everyone in the gun community is goofy.
From what I can tell, the only differences in the Diamondback carbon vs black gold, diamond, obsidian is the hand guards, lowers and potentially trigger. They all use the same barrels and bcg, correct?
I am not 100% certain. Surface level it does seem that way.
Can you do a review on the Delton 316L. I’ve had it for a while. About 700 ish rounds deep but I haven’t had the opportunity to use it at range.
I have 2 saints and then I bought a lwrc gas not piston I picked it up for 1276 and it is different level my saints are good love them but the lwrc is a whole different level need to check it out that price is brand new not used
Q Sugar Weasel is my go to AR.
I Built Mine for about $800 best money, I spent plus I get to choose what I put in it
PSA Sabre lower with Geissele trigger + BCM cold forged upper
This is the way
Love my complete BCM, but I also like my complete CMMG, Colt, and LMT.
What about the Armalite M15Tac14 PSA has it for 699.00.
I am looking at getting a compete BCM upper and getting a PSA completed lower
Honerable mentions : FM15 GEN1 & GEN2, RF15, MP sport3 and YHM15
Tbh I have been wanting to try the YHM but kinda have stayed away from their rifles because I feel like they more of a suppressor company. Maybe it’s time for a change!
@ElliottDelp My very 1st ar lower yhm. 👍🏿👍🏿 still soild
Just got a Blackout Defense Quantum DTL … pricy but the best you can get
Sparky finally upgraded that carrier to match😂😂
The green is too nice.
Good options 👍
It's because you were an officer "sir" 😂
Goona go pick up an iwi this weekend would like to see a review on it 💯
Review is on the channel!
I love my zion 15 sounds good with a flow556k with no issues
Also, take a look at a smith &wesson m&p sport 3 about $740 to 780 i have seen it for and volunteer and $800 to 900. And springfield Saint and $1000 to 1200 i have seen it for
I didn’t know smith and Wesson released the “3”. It will be on the list.
Zion15 is hands down the best
Why not mention the Springfield Saint (EDGE)….. it’s great out of the box and has pretty much all the upgrades you’d want from the get go. Of course at the price point 1100 or so.
There ain’t a damn thing wrong with those Sabre rifles, about to pick up that 14.5 in 6.5 creed. You guys should review that bad boy I’ve seen hardly any reviews on it
We have a 308 Sabre coming soon
Dont sleep on CMMG!
Do you have any reccomendations for .223 Wylde 20" build or upper?
Dead set on a 223 wylde?
You need to test out the Lead Star Grunt III, around 600-700 and packed with features. Awesome gun and impossible to find because of how often they sell out
Lead Star is made by PSA by the way..🤫
@@Stars-and-Stripes- From what I was told and read, they were acquired by PSA, but made from a different company/dealer.
Yall should review zaviar AR15’s lowkey brand but im put 2k rds though mine w zero issues…. $550 rifle
No Centurion Arms? CM4 Midweight is fantastic.
Monty makes parts for BCM. New factory is cranking out guns and parts including his MK12.
Hm a CM4 run?
@ElliottDelp Yes, Monty is cranking out guns including parts, his new sandcutter bcg, and new guns. Centurion should not be overlooked.
As well, High Caliber Sales is still making Mk12s and Mk18s right outside Crane in Freedom, Indiana.
Try out the Wraithworks war15, super solid rifle!
Haven't there been quality control issues with Aero lately?
Yes and no, there's certainly been more issues but it's also exaggerated because it used to be cool to own Aero, and now the meta is it's cool to hate Aero.
LWRC??
Too much moneyyyy
Thoughts on M&P Sport III ?
Heh, heh, heh, you can't fool me. You really DID leave, didn't you... 😏
Does anyone have thoughts about Midwest Industries? Barrels or guns? Thanks
I
I love my bcm. I have the upper with a fn barrel
Yall should look at the faxon ar. I love mine. Traded a Daniel defense for it so take that how you do lol!
BCM>>>
Why in the hell does everyone who does these style of videos SLEEP on the Springfield Victor Saint! It’s so much better than all the ones you showed in this video!
Love love love my Zions
No springfield saint victor!?
Springfield saint and edge from $800 to $1300 nice rifles well known company ?
Ruger MPR is a great rifle.
Smith and Wesson MP Sport III
BCM out of these choices' hands down
I have several budget ars but my favorite has to be my sugar weasel
I can’t back psa too many of the ones I build and bought fell apart , not to mention the mass amount of people who bought sabres and they fell apart or wouldn’t run properly, id 10000% take a diamond back over psa fuck I’d almost take an Anderson
Been all over PSA website. Don't see A FN CHF barrel anywhere .
